lont@Matthew:27:32 @ As they went out of the city, they met one Simon, a Cyrenian, whom they constrained to carry the cross;

lont@Matthew:27:33 @ and being arrived at a place called Golgotha, which signifies a Place of Skulls,

lont@Matthew:27:34 @ they gave him to drink, vinegar mixed with wormwood, which, having tasted, he would not drink.

lont@Matthew:27:35 @ After they had nailed him to the cross, they parted his garments by lot.

lont@Matthew:27:36 @ And having sat down there, they guarded him.

lont@Matthew:27:37 @ And over his head they placed this inscription, denoting the cause of his death: THIS IS JESUS THE KING OF THE JEWS.

lont@Matthew:27:38 @ Two robbers also were crucified with him, one at his right hand, and the other at his left.

lont@Matthew:27:39 @ Meanwhile the passengers reviled him, shaking their heads,

lont@Matthew:27:40 @ and saying, You who could demolish the temple, and rebuild it in three days; if you be God's Son, come down from the cross.

lont@Matthew:27:41 @ The chief priests also, with the scribes and elders, deriding him, said,

lont@Matthew:27:42 @ He saved others: can he not save himself? If he be King of Israel, let him now descend from the cross, and we will believe him.

lont@Matthew:27:43 @ He trusted in God. Let God deliver him now, if he regard him; for he called himself God's Son.

lont@Matthew:27:44 @ The robbers too, his fellow-sufferers, upbraided him in the same manner.
