* But I say (5719 ) unto you , That ye resist (5629 ) not evil : but whosoever shall smite (5692 ) thee on thy right cheek , turn (5657 ) to him the other also . * And if any man will (5723 ) sue thee at the law (5683 ), and take away (5629 ) thy coat , let him have (5628 ) thy cloke also . * And whosoever shall compel thee to go (5692 ) a mile , go (5720 ) with him twain . * Give (5720 ) to him that asketh (5723 ) thee , and from him that would (5723 ) borrow (5670 ) of thee turn not thou away (5652 ). * Ye have heard (5656 ) that it hath been said (5681 ), Thou shalt love (5692 ) thy neighbour , and hate (5692 ) thine enemy . * But I say (5719 ) unto you , Love (5720 ) your enemies , bless (5720 ) them that curse (5740 ) you , do (5720 ) good to them that hate (5723 ) you , and pray (5737 ) for them which despitefully use (5723 ) you , and persecute (5723 ) you ; * That ye may be (5638 ) the children of your Father which is in heaven : for he maketh his sun to rise (5719 ) on the evil and on the good , and sendeth rain (5719 ) on the just and on the unjust . * For if ye love (5661 ) them which love (5723 ) you , what reward have ye (5719 )? do (5719 ) not even the publicans the same ? * And if ye salute (5667 ) your brethren only , what do (5719 ) ye more than others ? do (5719 ) not even the publicans so ? * Be (5704 ) ye therefore perfect , even as your Father which is in heaven is (5748 ) perfect .
