Matthew:5

*
At that season Jesus went on the Sabbath day through the grainfields ;
and his disciples were hungry and began to pluck ears and to eat .
*
But the Pharisees ,
when they saw it ,
said to him ,
Look ,
your disciples do that which it is not lawful to do on the Sabbath .
*
But he said to them ,
Have you (

not read what David did ,
when he was hungry ,
and those who were with him ;
*
how he entered into the house of God ,
and they ate the showbread ,
which it was not lawful for him to eat ,
neither for those who were with him ,
but only for the priests ?
*
And he said to them ,
The Sabbath was made for man ,
and not man for the Sabbath :
*
so that the Son of Man is Lord even of the Sabbath .
*
And he departed from there ,
and went into their synagogue :
*
and look ,
a man having a withered hand .
And they watched him to see if he would heal on the Sabbath day ;
so that they might accuse him .
*
And he said to them ,
Is it lawful on the Sabbath day to do good ,
or to do harm ?
To save a life ,
or to kill ?
*
But they held their peace .
*
Then he says to the man ,
Stretch forth your hand .
And he stretched it forth ;
and it was restored whole ,
as the other .
*
But the Pharisees went out ,
and took counsel against him ,
how they might destroy him .
*
And Jesus withdrew from there :
and great multitudes from Galilee and Decapolis and Jerusalem and Judea and [

beyond the Jordan followed him .
*
And the report of him went forth into all Syria :
and they brought to him all who were sick ,
held with diverse diseases and torments ,
and possessed with demons ,
and epileptic ,
and palsied ;
and he healed them .
