* And when thou prayest (5741 ), thou shalt not be (5704 ) as the hypocrites are : for they love (5719 ) to pray (5738 ) standing (5761 ) in the synagogues and in the corners of the streets , that they may be seen (5652 ) of men . Verily I say (5719 ) unto you , They have (5719 ) their reward . * But thou , when thou prayest (5741 ), enter (5628 ) into thy closet , and when thou hast shut (5660 ) thy door , pray (5663 ) to thy Father which is in secret ; and thy Father which seeth (5723 ) in secret shall reward (5692 ) thee openly . * But when ye pray (5740 ), use not vain repetitions (5661 ), as the heathen do : for they think (5719 ) that they shall be heard (5701 ) for their much speaking . * Be not ye therefore like (5686 ) unto them : for your Father knoweth (5758 ) what things ye have (5719 ) need of , before ye ask (5658 ) him .
