acv@Numbers:23:1 @ And Balaam said to Balak, Build me here seven altars, and prepare me here seven bullocks and seven rams.

acv@Numbers:23:2 @ And Balak did as Balaam had spoken. And Balak and Balaam offered on every altar a bullock and a ram.

acv@Numbers:23:3 @ And Balaam said to Balak, Stand by thy burnt-offering, and I will go. Perhaps LORD will come to meet me, and whatever he shows me I will tell thee. And he went to a bare height.

acv@Numbers:23:4 @ And God met Balaam, and he said to him, I have prepared the seven altars, and I have offered up a bullock and a ram on every altar.

acv@Numbers:23:5 @ And LORD put a word in Balaam's mouth, and said, Return to Balak, and thus thou shall speak.

acv@Numbers:23:6 @ And he returned to him. And, lo, he was standing by his burnt-offering, he, and all the rulers of Moab.

acv@Numbers:23:7 @ And he took up his parable, and said, From Aram Balak has brought me, the king of Moab from the mountains of the East. Come, curse Jacob for me, and come, defy Israel.

acv@Numbers:23:8 @ How shall I curse, whom God has not cursed? And how shall I defy, whom LORD has not defied?

acv@Numbers:23:9 @ For from the top of the rocks I see him, and from the hills I behold him. Lo, it is a people that dwells alone, and shall not be reckoned among the nations.

acv@Numbers:23:10 @ Who can count the dust of Jacob, or number the fourth part of Israel? Let me die the death of the righteous, and let my last end be like his!

acv@Numbers:23:11 @ And Balak said to Balaam, What have thou done to me? I took thee to curse my enemies, and, behold, thou have blessed them altogether.

acv@Numbers:23:12 @ And he answered and said, Must I not take heed to speak that which LORD puts in my mouth?

acv@Numbers:23:13 @ And Balak said to him, Come, I pray thee, with me to another place, from where thou may see them. Thou shall see but the outmost part of them, and shall not see them all, and curse them for me from there.

acv@Numbers:23:14 @ And he took him into the field of Zophim, to the top of Pisgah, and built seven altars, and offered up a bullock and a ram on every altar.

acv@Numbers:23:15 @ And he said to Balak, Stand here by thy burnt-offering, while I meet [LORD] yonder.

acv@Numbers:23:16 @ And LORD met Balaam, and put a word in his mouth, and said, Return to Balak, and thus shall thou speak.

acv@Numbers:23:17 @ And he came to him. And, lo, he was standing by his burnt-offering, and the rulers of Moab with him. And Balak said to him, What has LORD spoken?

acv@Numbers:23:18 @ And he took up his parable, and said, Rise up, Balak, and hear. Hearken to me, thou son of Zippor.

acv@Numbers:23:19 @ God is not a man, that he should lie, neither the son of man, that he should repent. Has he said, and will he not do it? Or has he spoken, and will he not make it good?

acv@Numbers:23:20 @ Behold, I have received to bless. And he has blessed, and I cannot reverse it.

acv@Numbers:23:21 @ He has not beheld iniquity in Jacob, neither has he seen perverseness in Israel. LORD his God is with him, and the shout of a king is among them.

acv@Numbers:23:22 @ God brings them forth out of Egypt. He has as it were the strength of the wild-ox.

acv@Numbers:23:23 @ Surely there is no enchantment with Jacob, neither is there any divination with Israel. Now it shall be said of Jacob and of Israel, What has God wrought!

acv@Numbers:23:24 @ Behold, the people rise up as a lioness, and as a lion he lifts himself up. He shall not lie down until he eats of the prey, and drinks the blood of the slain.

acv@Numbers:23:25 @ And Balak said to Balaam, Neither curse them at all, nor bless them at all.

acv@Numbers:23:26 @ But Balaam answered and said to Balak, Did I not tell thee, saying, All that LORD speaks, that I must do?

acv@Numbers:23:27 @ And Balak said to Balaam, Come now, I will take thee to another place. Perhaps it will please God that thou may curse them for me from there.

acv@Numbers:23:28 @ And Balak took Balaam to the top of Peor, that looks down upon the desert.

acv@Numbers:23:29 @ And Balaam said to Balak, Build for me here seven altars, and prepare for me here seven bullocks and seven rams.

acv@Numbers:23:30 @ And Balak did as Balaam had said, and offered up a bullock and a ram on every altar.

acv@Numbers:24:1 @ And when Balaam saw that it pleased LORD to bless Israel, he did not go, as at the other times, to meet with omens, but he set his face toward the wilderness.

acv@Numbers:24:2 @ And Balaam lifted up his eyes, and he saw Israel dwelling according to their tribes, and the Spirit of God came upon him.

acv@Numbers:24:3 @ And he took up his parable, and said, Balaam the son of Beor says, and the man whose eye was closed says,

acv@Numbers:24:4 @ he says who hears the words of God, who sees the vision of the Almighty, falling down, and having his eyes open,

acv@Numbers:24:5 @ How goodly are thy tents, O Jacob, thy tabernacles, O Israel!

acv@Numbers:24:6 @ As valleys they are spread forth, as gardens by the river-side, as aloes which LORD has planted, as cedar trees beside the waters.

acv@Numbers:24:7 @ Water shall flow from his buckets, and his seed shall be in many waters, and his king shall be higher than Agag, and his kingdom shall be exalted.

acv@Numbers:24:8 @ God brings him forth out of Egypt. He has as it were the strength of the wild-ox. He shall eat up the nations his adversaries, and shall break their bones in pieces, and smite [them] through with his arrows.

acv@Numbers:24:9 @ He couched, he lay down as a lion, and as a lioness. Who shall rouse him up? He who blesses thee is blessed, And he who curses thee is cursed.

acv@Numbers:24:10 @ And Balak's anger was kindled against Balaam, and he struck his hands together. And Balak said to Balaam, I called thee to curse my enemies, and, behold, thou have altogether blessed them these three times.

acv@Numbers:24:11 @ Therefore now flee thou to thy place. I thought to promote thee to great honor, but, lo, LORD has kept thee back from honor.

acv@Numbers:24:12 @ And Balaam said to Balak, Did I not also speak to thy messengers that thou sent to me, saying,

acv@Numbers:24:13 @ If Balak would give me his house full of silver and gold, I cannot go beyond the word of LORD, to do either good or bad of my own mind. What LORD speaks, that I will speak?

acv@Numbers:24:14 @ And now, behold, I go to my people. Come, I will advise thee what this people shall do to thy people in the latter days.

acv@Numbers:24:15 @ And he took up his parable, and said, Balaam the son of Beor says, and the man whose eye was closed says,

acv@Numbers:24:16 @ he says who hears the words of God, and knows the knowledge of the Most High, who sees the vision of the Almighty, falling down, and having his eyes open:

acv@Numbers:24:17 @ I see him, but not now. I behold him, but not near. There shall come forth a star out of Jacob, and a scepter shall rise out of Israel, and shall smite through the corners of Moab, and break down all the sons of tumult.

acv@Numbers:24:18 @ And Edom shall be a possession, Seir also shall be a possession, [who were] his enemies, while Israel does valiantly.

acv@Numbers:24:19 @ And out of Jacob shall come he who shall have dominion, and shall destroy the remnant from the city.

acv@Numbers:24:20 @ And he looked on Amalek, and took up his parable, and said, Amalek was the first of the nations, but his latter end shall come to destruction.

acv@Numbers:24:21 @ And he looked on the Kenite, and took up his parable, and said, Strong is thy dwelling-place, and thy nest is set in the rock.

acv@Numbers:24:22 @ Nevertheless Kain shall be wasted, until Asshur shall carry thee away captive.

acv@Numbers:24:23 @ And he took up his parable, and said, Alas, who shall live when God does this?

acv@Numbers:24:24 @ But ships [shall come] from the coast of Kittim, and they shall afflict Asshur, and shall afflict Eber, and he also shall come to destruction.

acv@Numbers:24:25 @ And Balaam rose up, and went and returned to his place, and Balak also went his way.

acv@Numbers:25:1 @ And Israel abode in Shittim. And the people began to play the harlot with the daughters of Moab,
