* But the things that were gain to me , those I have counted loss for Christ . * Yes , I count all to be loss because of the surpassing worth of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord , for whom I have suffered the loss of all things and count them but refuse , that I may gain Christ * and be found in him , not having my own righteousness that was from the Law , but that which is through faith in Christ , the righteousness which comes from God and rests on faith , * that I may know him and the power of his resurrection and the fellowship of his sufferings , becoming like him in death , * if possibly I may attain to the resurrection from the dead . * Not that I have already obtained it or have already been made perfect , but I press on to lay hold of that for which I was laid hold of by Christ Jesus . * Brethren , I do not consider myself yet to have laid hold of it . But one thing I do : forgetting what is behind and stretching forward to what is in front * I press toward the goal for the prize of the heavenly call of God in Christ Jesus .
