Romans:3-4

*
What advantage then hath the Jew ?
or what profit is there of circumcision ?
*
Much every way :
chiefly ,
because that unto them were committed (
5681 )
the oracles of God .
*
For what if some did not believe (
5656 )?
shall their unbelief make the faith of God without effect (
5692 )?
*
God forbid (
5636 ):
yea ,
let God be (
5737 )
true ,
but every man a liar ;
as it is written (
5769 ),
That thou mightest be justified (
5686 )
in thy sayings ,
and mightest overcome (
5661 )
when thou art judged (
5745 ).
*
But if our unrighteousness commend (
5719 )
the righteousness of God ,
what shall we say (
5692 )?
Is God unrighteous who taketh (
5723 )
vengeance ? (
I speak (
5719 )
as a man )
*
God forbid (
5636 ):
for then how shall God judge (
5692 ) (
5719 )
the world ?
*
For if the truth of God hath more abounded (
5656 )
through my lie unto his glory ;
why yet am I also judged (
5743 )
as a sinner ?
*
And not rather , (
as we be slanderously reported (
5743 ),
and as some affirm (
5748 )
that we say (
5721 ),)
Let us do (
5661 )
evil ,
that good may come (
5632 )?
whose damnation is (
5748 )
just .
*
What then ?
are we better (
5736 )
than they ?
No ,
in no wise :
for we have before proved (
5662 )
both Jews and Gentiles ,
that they are (
5750 )
all nder sin ;
*
As it is written (
5769 ),
There is (
5748 )
none righteous ,
no ,
not one :
*
There is (
5748 )
none that understandeth (
5723 ),
there is (
5748 )
none that seeketh after (
5723 )
God .
*
They are all gone out of the way (
5656 ),
they are together become unprofitable (
5681 );
there is (
5748 )
none that doeth (
5723 )
good ,
no ,
not one (
5748 ) .
*
Their throat is an open (
5772 )
sepulchre ;
with their tongues they have used deceit (
5707 );
the poison of asps is under their lips :
*
Whose mouth is full (
5719 )
of cursing and bitterness :
*
Their feet are swift to shed (
5658 )
blood :
*
Destruction and misery are in their ways :
*
And the way of peace have they not known (
5627 ):
*
There is (
5748 )
no fear of God before their eyes .
*
Now we know (
5758 )
that what things soever the law saith (
5719 ),
it saith (
5719 )
to them who are under the law :
that every mouth may be stopped (
5652 ),
and all the world may become (
5638 )
guilty before God .
*
Therefore by the deeds of the law there shall no flesh be justified (
5701 )
in his sight :
for by the law is the knowledge of sin .
*
But now the righteousness of God without the law is manifested (
5769 ),
being witnessed (
5746 )
by the law and the prophets ;
*
Even the righteousness of God which is by faith of Jesus Christ unto all and upon all them that believe (
5723 ):
for there is (
5748 )
no difference :
*
For all have sinned (
5627 ),
and come short (
5743 )
of the glory of God ;
*
Being justified (
5746 )
freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus :
*
Whom God hath set forth (
5639 )
to be a propitiation through faith in his blood ,
to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past (
5761 ),
through the forbearance of God ;
*
To declare ,
I say ,
at this time his righteousness :
that he might be (
5750 )
just ,
and the justifier (
5723 )
of him which believeth in Jesus .
*
Where is boasting then ?
It is excluded (
5681 ).
By what law ?
of works ?
Nay :
but by the law of faith .
*
Therefore we conclude (
5736 )
that a man is justified (
5745 )
by faith without the deeds of the law .
*
Is he the God of the Jews only ?
is he not also of the Gentiles ?
Yes ,
of the Gentiles also :
*
Seeing it is one God ,
which shall justify (
5692 )
the circumcision by faith ,
and uncircumcision through faith .
*
Do we then make void (
5719 )
the law through faith ?
God forbid (
5636 ):
yea ,
we establish (
5719 )
the law .
*
What shall we say (
5692 )
then that Abraham our father ,
as pertaining to the flesh ,
hath found (
5760 )?
*
For if Abraham were justified (
5681 )
by works ,
he hath (
5719 )
whereof to glory ;
but not before God .
*
For what saith (
5719 )
the scripture ?
Abraham believed (
5656 )
God ,
and it was counted (
5681 )
unto him for righteousness .
*
Now to him that worketh (
5740 )
is the reward not reckoned (
5736 )
of grace ,
but of debt .
*
But to him that worketh (
5740 )
not ,
but believeth (
5723 )
on him that justifieth (
5723 )
the ungodly ,
his faith is counted (
5736 )
for righteousness .
*
Even as David also describeth (
5719 )
the blessedness of the man ,
unto whom God imputeth (
5736 )
righteousness without works ,
*
Saying ,
Blessed are they whose iniquities are forgiven (
5681 ),
and whose sins are covered (
5681 ).
*
Blessed is the man to whom the Lord will not impute (
5667 )
sin .
*
Cometh this blessedness then upon the circumcision only ,
or upon the uncircumcision also ?
for we say (
5719 )
that faith was reckoned (
5681 )
to Abraham for righteousness .
*
How was it then reckoned (
5681 )?
when he was (
5752 )
in circumcision ,
or in uncircumcision ?
Not in circumcision ,
but in uncircumcision .
*
And he received (
5627 )
the sign of circumcision ,
a seal of the righteousness of the faith which he had yet being uncircumcised :
that he might be (
5750 )
the father of all them that believe (
5723 ),
though they be not circumcised ;
that righteousness might be imputed (
5683 )
unto them also :
*
And the father of circumcision to them who are not of the circumcision only ,
but who also walk (
5723 )
in the steps of that faith of our father Abraham ,
which he had being yet uncircumcised .
*
For the promise ,
that he should be (
5750 )
the heir of the world ,
was not to Abraham ,
or to his seed ,
through the law ,
but through the righteousness of faith .
*
For if they which are of the law be heirs ,
faith is made void (
5769 ),
and the promise made of none effect (
5769 ):
*
Because the law worketh (
5736 )
wrath :
for where no law is (
5748 ),
there is no transgression .
*
Therefore it is of faith ,
that it might be by grace ;
to the end the promise might be (
5750 )
sure to all the seed ;
not to that only which is of the law ,
but to that also which is of the faith of Abraham ;
who is (
5748 )
the father of us all ,
* (
As it is written (
5769 ),
I have made (
5758 )
thee a father of many nations ,)
before him whom he believed (
5656 ),
even God ,
who quickeneth (
5723 )
the dead ,
and calleth (
5723 )
those things which be (
5752 )
not as though they were (
5752 ).
*
Who against hope believed (
5656 )
in hope ,
that he might become (
5635 )
the father of many nations ,
according to that which was spoken (
5772 ),
So shall thy seed be (
5704 ).
*
And being not weak (
5660 )
in faith ,
he considered (
5656 )
not his own body now dead (
5772 ),
when he was (
5723 )
about an hundred years old ,
neither yet the deadness of Saras womb :
*
He staggered (
5681 )
not at the promise of God through unbelief ;
but was strong (
5681 )
in faith ,
giving (
5631 )
glory to God ;
*
And being fully persuaded (
5685 )
that ,
what he had promised (
5766 ),
he was (
5748 )
able also to perform (
5658 ).
*
And therefore it was imputed (
5681 )
to him for righteousness .
*
Now it was not written (
5648 )
for his sake alone ,
that it was imputed (
5681 )
to him ;
*
But for us also ,
to whom it shall be (
5719 )
imputed (
5745 ),
if we believe (
5723 )
on him that raised up (
5660 )
Jesus our Lord from the dead ;
*
Who was delivered (
5681 )
for our offences ,
and was raised again (
5681 )
for our justification .
*
Therefore being justified (
5685 )
by faith ,
we have (
5719 )
peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ :
