Had Rebekah all along told Isaac the Lord's desire, had Rebekah this time confronted him soon as she heard, had Jacob petitioned his father to seek the Lord in this all important matter. Really, ask yourself, was the Lord's will ever in danger of being crossed up by the verbal blessings of Isaac? Why not then just trust, pray, fast if you have to, be honest and open and vocal, prove yourself worthy of a father's blessing.

At this point these names are known by the Hebrews in terms of how He had spoken to their fore fathers and the future promise He had made; His more tangible connection to them was just now beginning to be brought forth.
