Hosea:1:1 @ The word of Jehovah that was to Hosea, the son of Beeri, in the days of Uzziah, Jotham, Ahaz and Hezekiah, kings of Judah, and in the days of Jeroboam, the son of Joash, king of Israel.
gltv@Hosea:1:2 @ The beginning of the speaking of Jehovah by Hosea. And Jehovah said to Hosea, Go, take to yourself a wife of harlotry, and children of harlotry. For the land has utterly gone lusting away from Jehovah.
gltv@Hosea:1:4 @ And Jehovah said to him, Call his name God Will Sow, for yet in a little while I will call to account the blood of Jezreel on the house of Jehu, and will cause the kingdom of the house of Israel to cease.
gltv@Hosea:1:10 @ Yet the number of the sons of Israel shall be as the sand of the sea, which is not measured nor numbered. And it shall be, in the place where it is said to them, You are not My people, it shall be said to them, Sons of the Living God.
gltv@Hosea:2:2 @ Strive! Strive with your mother, for she is not My wife, and I am not her husband. Therefore, let her put away her harlotries from her face, and her adulteries from between her breasts,
gltv@Hosea:2:3 @ that I not strip her naked and set her out as in the day that she was born, and make her as the wilderness, and place her like a dry land, and kill her with thirst.
gltv@Hosea:2:5 @ For their mother has prostituted herself; she who conceived them has acted shamefully. For she said, I will go after my lovers who give my bread and my water, my wool and my flax, my oil and my drink.
gltv@Hosea:2:7 @ And she shall follow after her lovers, but she shall not overtake them. And she shall look for them, but she shall not find them. Then she shall say, I will go and return to my first husband, for then it was better with me than now.
gltv@Hosea:2:9 @ So I will return and take My grain in its time, and My wine in its season. And I will take back My wool and My flax she uses to cover her nakedness.
gltv@Hosea:2:11 @ I will also cause all her joy to cease, her feast days, her new moons, and her sabbaths, and all her solemn feasts.
gltv@Hosea:2:12 @ And I will destroy her vines and her fig trees, of which she has said, They are my rewards that my lovers have given me. And I will set them for a forest, and the beasts of the field shall eat them.
gltv@Hosea:2:15 @ And from there I will give her vineyards to her, and the valley of Achor for a door of hope. And she shall answer there as in the days of her youth, and as in the day when she came up out of the land of Egypt.
gltv@Hosea:2:18 @ And in that day I will cut a covenant for them with the beasts of the field, and with the birds of the sky, and the creeping things of the ground. And I will break the bow and the sword, and the battle out of the earth, and I will make them to lie down safely.
gltv@Hosea:2:19 @ And I will betroth you to Me forever. Yes, I will betroth you to Me in righteousness, and in judgment, and in mercy, and in compassions.
gltv@Hosea:4:1 @ Sons of Israel, hear the word of Jehovah, for Jehovah has a quarrel with the inhabitants of the land; for there is no truth, and no mercy, and no knowledge of God in the land.
gltv@Hosea:4:2 @ Swearing, and lying, and killing, and stealing, and the committing of adultery increase. And blood touches against blood.
gltv@Hosea:4:3 @ On account of this the land shall mourn, and every one living in it shall droop, with the beasts of the field and the birds of the heaven; yes, also the fish of the sea shall be removed.
gltv@Hosea:4:4 @ Yet let not a man strive with nor reprove a man. For your people are as a priest striven with.
gltv@Hosea:4:7 @ As they were increased, so they sinned against Me. I will change their glory into shame.
gltv@Hosea:4:10 @ For they shall eat and not have enough. They shall fornicate and not increase, because they have ceased heeding Jehovah.
gltv@Hosea:4:12 @ My people seek advice by their wooden idols, and their rod declares to them. For the spirit of harlotry has led them astray, and they fornicated from under their God.
gltv@Hosea:4:14 @ I will not punish your daughters when they fornicate, nor your brides when they commit adultery. For the men themselves go aside with harlots, and they sacrifice with temple prostitutes. The people who do not understand are thrust down.
gltv@Hosea:4:15 @ Israel, though you fornicate, do not let Judah become guilty. And do not come to Gilgal, nor go up to Beth-aven, nor swear, As Jehovah lives.
gltv@Hosea:4:16 @ For Israel rebels, like a rebellious heifer. Now Jehovah will feed them as a lamb in a roomy place.
gltv@Hosea:4:19 @ The wind binds her up in her wings, and they shall be ashamed because of their sacrifices.
gltv@Hosea:5:2 @ And revolters have gone deep in slaughtering, and I chasten all of them.
gltv@Hosea:5:3 @ I know Ephraim, and Israel has not hidden from me. For now, O Ephraim, you have fornicated; Israel is defiled.
gltv@Hosea:5:6 @ They shall go with their flocks and with their herds to seek Jehovah, but they shall not find; He has withdrawn Himself from them.
gltv@Hosea:5:10 @ The rulers of Judah were as movers of a border; I will pour out My wrath on them like water.
gltv@Hosea:5:11 @ Ephraim is oppressed, crushed in judgment; because he was pleased, he walked after the command.
gltv@Hosea:5:12 @ Therefore, I am as a moth to Ephraim, and to the house of Judah as rottenness.
gltv@Hosea:5:13 @ When Ephraim saw his sickness, and Judah his wound, then Ephraim went to Assyria, and sent to king Jareb. Yet he could not heal you, nor did he cure you of your wound.
gltv@Hosea:5:14 @ For I am to Ephraim as the lion, and as the young lion to the house of Judah; I, even I, tear and go; I take away, and no one rescues.
gltv@Hosea:6:1 @ Come and let us return to Jehovah. For He has torn, and He will heal us. He has stricken, and He will bind us up.
gltv@Hosea:6:3 @ Then we shall know, we who follow on to know Jehovah. His going forth is established as the dawn. And He shall come to us as the rain, as the latter and former rain to the earth.
gltv@Hosea:6:5 @ So I have hewn them by the prophets; I have slain them by the words of My mouth; and your judgments have been as the light that goes forth.
gltv@Hosea:6:9 @ And as troops of robbers wait for a man, the company of priests murder in the way to Shechem; for they have done wickedness.
gltv@Hosea:7:1 @ When I would have healed Israel, then the iniquity of Ephraim was uncovered, and the evil of Samaria. For they have worked falsehood; and a thief comes; a troop of robbers plunders outside.
gltv@Hosea:7:4 @ They are all adulterers, like an oven heated by the baker; he ceases from stirring, from kneading the dough while it is leavened.
gltv@Hosea:7:7 @ They are all hot as an oven, and devour their judges. All their kings have fallen; not one among them calls to Me.
gltv@Hosea:7:11 @ Ephraim also is like a silly dove without heart; they call to Egypt; they go to Assyria.
gltv@Hosea:7:12 @ When they go, I will spread My net over them; I will bring them down like the birds of the heavens; I will chastise them, as a report to their congregation.
gltv@Hosea:8:3 @ Israel has thrown off good; the enemy shall pursue him.
gltv@Hosea:8:5 @ O Samaria, your calf has cast you off. My anger is kindled against them. Until when will they not attain purity?
gltv@Hosea:8:7 @ For they sow the wind, and they reap the whirlwind. He has no stalk; the bud shall make no flour. If it does make it, strangers will swallow it up.
gltv@Hosea:8:8 @ Israel is swallowed up. They are now among the nations as a vessel in which is no pleasure.
gltv@Hosea:8:9 @ For they have gone up to Assyria, a wild ass alone by himself. Ephraim has hired lovers.
gltv@Hosea:8:11 @ Because Ephraim has made many altars to sin, they are altars to him to sin.
gltv@Hosea:8:12 @ I will write the great things of My law for him. They were counted as a strange thing.
gltv@Hosea:8:14 @ For Israel has forgotten his Maker, and builds temples. And Judah has multiplied fortified cities. But I will send a fire on his cities, and it shall burn up her palaces.
gltv@Hosea:9:3 @ They shall not live in the land of Jehovah. But Ephraim shall return to Egypt, and they shall eat unclean things in Assyria.
gltv@Hosea:9:4 @ They shall not offer wine to Jehovah. They shall not be pleasing to Him. Their sacrifices shall be like the bread of sorrows to them; all who eat it shall be defiled, for their bread is for their person; it shall not come into the house of Jehovah.
gltv@Hosea:9:5 @ What will you do in the day of meeting, and in the day of the feast of Jehovah?
gltv@Hosea:9:9 @ They have deeply corrupted, as in days of Gibeah. He will remember their iniquity; He will punish their sins.
gltv@Hosea:9:10 @ I found Israel like grapes in the wilderness. I saw your fathers as the firstfruit in the fig tree at her first time. They came to Baal-peor and set themselves apart to a shameful thing. And they became hateful like that which they loved.
gltv@Hosea:9:13 @ As when I looked toward Tyre, Ephraim was planted in a pleasant place. But Ephraim shall bring forth his sons to the slayer.
gltv@Hosea:9:14 @ O Jehovah, give them. What will you give them? Give them a miscarrying womb and dry breasts.
gltv@Hosea:10:1 @ Israel is a luxuriant vine; he bears fruit for himself. According to the plenty of his fruit he has increased the altars. They have made beautiful images according to the goodness of his land.
gltv@Hosea:10:5 @ The people of Samaria shall dread because of the calves of Beth-aven. For its people shall mourn over it; also its priests who rejoiced on it for its glory, because it has departed from it.
gltv@Hosea:10:6 @ It shall also be carried to Assyria, a present to king Jareb. Ephraim shall receive shame, and Israel shall be ashamed of his own counsel.
gltv@Hosea:10:7 @ Samaria is cut off; her king is as a bough on the face of the water.
gltv@Hosea:10:11 @ And Ephraim is a trained heifer, loving to tread out. But I passed over on the goodness of her neck; I will make Ephraim to ride; Judah shall plow; Jacob shall break clods for him.
gltv@Hosea:10:12 @ Sow to yourselves in righteousness, reap as mercy. Break up your plowed ground. For it is time to seek Jehovah, until He comes and rains righteousness on you.
gltv@Hosea:10:14 @ And an uproar shall rise up among your peoples. And all your strongholds shall be spoiled, as the ruin of Beth-arbel in the day of battle. The mother was dashed in pieces on her sons.
gltv@Hosea:11:1 @ When Israel was a child, then I loved him, and I called My son out of Egypt.
gltv@Hosea:11:2 @ As they called to them, so they went from their face. They sacrifice to the Baals, and burn incense to graven images.
gltv@Hosea:11:4 @ I drew them with cords of a man, with bands of love. And I was to them as those who lift off the yoke on their jaws; and I gently give food to him.
gltv@Hosea:11:5 @ He shall not return to the land of Egypt, but he of Assyria shall be his king, because they refused to return.
gltv@Hosea:11:8 @ How shall I give you up, Ephraim? Shall I deliver you, Israel? How shall I make you like Admah? Shall I set you as Zeboim? My heart has turned within Me; My compassions are kindled together.
gltv@Hosea:11:10 @ They shall walk after Jehovah; He shall roar as a lion. When He roars, then sons shall tremble from the west.
gltv@Hosea:11:11 @ They trembled like a bird from Egypt, and like a dove from the land of Assyria. And I will make them live in their houses, says Jehovah.
gltv@Hosea:12:1 @ Ephraim feeds on wind, and follows after the east wind; all the day he multiplies lies and ruin. And they cut a covenant with Assyria, and oil is carried into Egypt.
gltv@Hosea:12:2 @ Jehovah also has a quarrel with Judah, and will punish Jacob according to his ways; He will repay him according to his deeds.
gltv@Hosea:12:6 @ For this reason, you return to your God; keep mercy and judgment, and wait on your God continually.
gltv@Hosea:12:9 @ And I am Jehovah, your God from the land of Egypt; yet I will make you live in tents, as in the days of appointed assembly.
gltv@Hosea:12:11 @ Is Gilead evil? Surely they have been vanity. They sacrificed bulls in Gilgal; yea, their altars are as heaps in the furrows of the field.
gltv@Hosea:12:13 @ And by a prophet Jehovah brought up Israel out of Egypt, and by a prophet he was kept safe.
gltv@Hosea:12:14 @ Ephraim has provoked Me to anger most bitterly. And He shall leave his blood to him, and his Lord shall turn his reproach to him.
gltv@Hosea:13:1 @ When Ephraim spoke trembling, he was lifted up in Israel. But he offended in Baal, and he died.
gltv@Hosea:13:3 @ So they shall be as the morning cloud, and as the early dew that passes away, as chaff storm driven from the threshing floor, and as the smoke out of the window.
gltv@Hosea:13:6 @ According to their pasture, so they were filled. They were filled, and their heart was lifted up. On account of this they have forgotten Me.
gltv@Hosea:13:7 @ Now I am as a lion to them; I will watch by the way like a leopard.
gltv@Hosea:13:8 @ I will meet them like a bereaved bear, and I will tear the lining of their heart; and as a lion, I will devour them there; the beast of the field shall tear them.
gltv@Hosea:13:15 @ Though he is fruitful among brothers, an east wind shall come. The wind of Jehovah shall come up from the wilderness, and his spring shall be ashamed, and his fountain shall be dried up. He shall plunder the treasure of all desirable vessels.
gltv@Hosea:13:16 @ Samaria shall be desolate, for she has rebelled against her God. They shall fall by the sword, their infants shall be dashed in pieces, and their pregnant women shall be ripped up.
gltv@Hosea:14:3 @ Assyria shall not save us; we will not ride on horses. We shall not say any more to the work of our hands, Our gods! For in You the fatherless finds mercy.
gltv@Hosea:14:4 @ I will heal their backslidings; I will love them freely; for My anger has turned away from him.
gltv@Hosea:14:5 @ I will be as the dew to Israel; he shall blossom as the lily and cast out his roots like Lebanon.
gltv@Hosea:14:6 @ His branches shall go out, and his beauty shall be like the olive tree, and his scent as Lebanon to Him.
gltv@Hosea:14:7 @ They who live under his shadow shall return; they shall live like the grain, and blossom like the vine; their memorial shall be as the wine of Lebanon.
gltv@Hosea:14:8 @ Ephraim shall say, What is to me any more with idols? I eyed him, and I surveyed him. I am as a green cypress tree; your fruit is found from Me.
gltv@Joel:1:1 @ The word of Jehovah that was to Joel, the son of Pethuel:
gltv@Joel:1:2 @ Hear this, you old men, and give ear, all you people of the land. Has this been in your days, or even in the days of your fathers?
gltv@Joel:1:4 @ What was left by the cutter, the swarming locust ate; and that left of the swarming locust, the locust larvae ate; and that left of the locust larvae, the stripping locust ate.
gltv@Joel:1:6 @ For a nation has come up on my land, strong and without number; its teeth are the teeth of a lion, and it has the jaw teeth of a lioness.
gltv@Joel:1:7 @ He has laid my vine waste and has splintered my fig tree. He has stripped it, and he threw it away; its branches grow white.
gltv@Joel:1:10 @ The field is wasted; the land mourns, for the grain is wasted. The new wine is dried up, the oil tree droops.
gltv@Joel:1:11 @ Be ashamed, farmers, howl, vinedressers, for the wheat and for the barley; because the harvest of the field has perished.
gltv@Joel:1:12 @ The vine is dried up and the fig tree droops, the pomegranate, and the palm tree, and the apple tree; all the trees of the field are dried up, because joy has dried up from the sons of men.
gltv@Joel:1:14 @ Set apart a fast; call a solemn assembly; gather the elders, all the inhabitants of the land, into the house of Jehovah your God, and cry to Jehovah.
gltv@Joel:1:15 @ Alas for the day! For the day of Jehovah is at hand. And it shall come as a destruction from the Almighty.
gltv@Joel:1:17 @ The seed shrivels under their clods; the storage bins are laid waste, the granaries are broken down, for the grain has dried up.
gltv@Joel:1:18 @ How the beasts groan! The herds of livestock are vexed, for there is no pasture for them. Even the flocks of sheep are perishing.
gltv@Joel:1:19 @ O Jehovah, to You I will cry, for the fire has burned up the pastures of the wilderness, and the flame has burned all the trees of the field.
gltv@Joel:1:20 @ The beasts of the field also cry to You, for the rivers of water are dried up, and the fire has burned up the pastures of the wilderness.
gltv@Joel:2:2 @ a day of darkness and gloominess, a day of clouds and thick darkness, as the dawn spread out on the mountains, a great and a strong people. There has never been the like, nor shall there ever be again to the years of many generations;
gltv@Joel:2:3 @ a fire devours before it, and a flame burns behind it. The land is as the garden of Eden before them, and behind them is a desolate wilderness; yea, also there is no escape to them.
gltv@Joel:2:4 @ Their appearance is like horses; and as war horses, so they run.
gltv@Joel:2:5 @ They shall leap like the noise of chariots on the tops of the mountains, like the noise of flames of fire that devour the chaff, as a strong people set in order for battle.
gltv@Joel:2:7 @ They shall run as mighty ones; they shall go up the wall as men of war. And they each go on his way, and they do not change their paths.
gltv@Joel:2:12 @ Yet even now turn to Me with all your heart, and with fasting, and with weeping, and with mourning, declares Jehovah.
gltv@Joel:2:15 @ Blow a ram's horn in Zion, sanctify a fast, call a solemn assembly.
gltv@Joel:2:16 @ Gather the people, sanctify the congregation, gather the elders, gather the children, and those who suck the breasts. Let the bridegroom go out of his room, and the bride out of her room.
gltv@Joel:2:20 @ But I will remove the northern army far from you, and I will drive him into a dry and desolated land with his face toward the eastern sea, and his rear toward the western sea. And his stench shall come up, and his ill odor shall come up, because he was doing great things.
gltv@Joel:2:22 @ Fear not, beasts of the field, for the pastures of the wilderness grow green, for the tree bears its fruit, the fig tree and the vine give their strength.
gltv@Joel:2:23 @ Then be glad, sons of Zion, and rejoice in Jehovah your God. For He has given to you the early rain according to righteousness, and He will cause the rain to come down for you, the early rain and the latter rain in the first month.
gltv@Joel:2:25 @ And I will restore to you the years which the swarming locust has eaten, the locust larvae, and the stripping locust, and the cutting locust, My great army which I sent among you.
gltv@Joel:2:26 @ And you shall eat fully and be satisfied; and you shall praise the name of Jehovah your God, who has dealt wondrously with you. And My people shall not be ashamed forever.
gltv@Joel:2:27 @ And you shall know that I am in the midst of Israel, and that I am Jehovah your God, and there is no other. And My people shall not be ashamed forever.
gltv@Joel:2:32 @ For it shall be, all who shall call on the name of Jehovah shall be saved. For salvation shall be in Mount Zion, and in Jerusalem, as Jehovah has said, and among the saved whom Jehovah shall call.
gltv@Joel:3:3 @ And they have cast lots for My people. And they have given a boy for a prostitute and sold a girl for wine, and they drank.
gltv@Joel:3:5 @ in that you have taken My silver and My gold and have carried My good treasures to your temples.
gltv@Joel:3:8 @ And I will sell your sons and your daughters into the hand of the sons of Judah, and they shall sell them to the Sabeans, to a nation far off. For Jehovah has spoken it.
gltv@Joel:3:17 @ And you shall know that I am Jehovah your God dwelling in Zion, My holy mountain. And Jerusalem shall be a holy thing, and aliens shall no more pass through her.
gltv@Amos:1:1 @ The words of Amos, who was among the herdsmen of Tekoa, which he saw concerning Israel in the days of Uzziah, king of Judah, and in the days of Jeroboam, the son of Joash, king of Israel, two years before the earthquake.
gltv@Amos:1:2 @ And he said: Jehovah will roar from Zion and utter His voice from Jerusalem. And the pastures of the shepherds shall mourn, and the top of Carmel shall dry up.
gltv@Amos:1:3 @ So says Jehovah: For three transgressions of Damascus, and for four, I will not turn back from it, for they have threshed Gilead with threshing sledges of iron.
gltv@Amos:1:5 @ I will also break the bar of Damascus, and cut off the inhabitant of the Valley of Aven, and him who holds the scepter from Beth-eden. And the people of Syria shall go captive to Kir, says Jehovah.
gltv@Amos:1:6 @ So says Jehovah: For three transgressions of Gaza, and for four, I will not turn back from it, for they deported as exiles to deliver up a complete population to Edom.
gltv@Amos:1:8 @ And I will cut off Ashdod's dwellers and him who holds the scepter from Ashkelon; and I will turn My hand against Ekron; and the remnant of the Philistines shall perish, says the Lord Jehovah.
gltv@Amos:1:9 @ So says Jehovah: For three transgressions of Tyre, and for four, I will not turn back from it, for they delivered up as exiles a complete population to Edom and did not remember the covenant of brothers.
gltv@Amos:1:11 @ So says Jehovah: For three transgressions of Edom, and for four, I will not turn back from it, for he pursued his brother with the sword, and corrupted his compassions, and his anger tore continually, and he kept it, his wrath, forever.
gltv@Amos:2:4 @ So says Jehovah: For three transgressions of Judah, and for four, I will not turn back from it; for they despised the law of Jehovah, and they have not kept His statutes. And their lies after which their fathers walked led them astray.
gltv@Amos:2:7 @ panting for the dust of the earth on the head of the helpless, and turning aside the way of the humble. And a man and his father will go in to the same girl, in order to profane the name of My holiness.
gltv@Amos:2:9 @ Yet I destroyed the Amorite from before them, whose height was like the height of the cedars, and he was strong as the great trees. And I destroyed his fruit from above and his roots from below.
gltv@Amos:2:13 @ Behold, I am pressed under you, as a cart full with produce is pressed.
gltv@Amos:3:1 @ Hear this word that Jehovah has spoken against you, sons of Israel, against all the family which I brought up from the land of Egypt, saying:
gltv@Amos:3:4 @ Will a lion roar in the forest when there is no prey for him? Will a young lion cry out of his den unless he has caught?
gltv@Amos:3:6 @ If a ram's horn is blowing in a city, will the people not also tremble? If there is a calamity in a city, has Jehovah not even done it?
gltv@Amos:3:8 @ A lion has roared. Who will not fear? The Lord Jehovah has spoken, who will not prophesy?
gltv@Amos:3:9 @ Make it heard at the palaces in Ashdod, and at the palaces in the land of Egypt, and say, Gather yourselves on the mountains of Samaria and see many panics in its midst, and oppressions in its midst.
gltv@Amos:3:12 @ So says Jehovah, As the shepherd takes two legs out of the mouth of the lion, or a piece of an ear, so shall the sons of Israel be taken out, those who dwell in Samaria in a corner of a bed, and in Damascus on a couch.
gltv@Amos:4:1 @ Hear this word, cows of Bashan who are in the mountain of Samaria, who press down the helpless, who crush the poor, who say to their husbands, Bring in, that we may drink.
gltv@Amos:4:2 @ The Lord Jehovah has sworn by His holiness that the days are coming that He will lift you up with meat hooks, and the last of you with fishhooks.
gltv@Amos:4:7 @ And I have also withheld the rain from you when it was yet three months to the harvest. And I caused rain to fall on one city, and caused it not to rain on another city. One piece was rained on, and the piece where it did not rain was dried up.
gltv@Amos:4:9 @ I have struck you with blasting and mildew. The multitude of your gardens and your vineyards, and your figs, and your olives are devoured by the creeping locust; yet you have not returned to Me, declares Jehovah.
gltv@Amos:4:11 @ I have overthrown among you, as God overthrew Sodom and Gomorrah, and you were like a firebrand plucked out of the burning; yet you have not returned to Me, declares Jehovah.
gltv@Amos:5:2 @ The virgin of Israel has fallen, and will not arise again; she lies forsaken on her land; there is no one raising her up.
gltv@Amos:5:9 @ who flashes out with destruction on the strong; yea, destruction comes on the fortress.
gltv@Amos:5:12 @ For I know your many transgressions, and your many sins: afflicting the just, taking of a bribe, and turning aside the poor in the gate.
gltv@Amos:5:14 @ Seek good and not evil, that you may live; and so Jehovah the God of hosts shall be with you, as you have spoken.
gltv@Amos:5:16 @ So Jehovah, the God of Hosts, the Lord, says this: Wailing shall be in all streets, and they shall say in all the highways, Alas! Alas! And they shall call the farmer to the mourning, and those knowing wailing to lamentation.
gltv@Amos:5:17 @ And wailing shall be in all vineyards, for I will pass among you, says Jehovah.
gltv@Amos:5:19 @ It is as if a man fled before a lion, and the bear met him. Or he goes into the house and leans his hand against the wall, and a snake bites him.
gltv@Amos:5:21 @ I hate, I despise your feast days; and I will not delight in your solemn assemblies.
gltv@Amos:5:22 @ Though you offer Me burnt offerings and your grain offerings, I will not be pleased; nor will I regard the peace offerings of your fat animals.
gltv@Amos:5:27 @ And I will cause you to go into exile beyond Damascus, says Jehovah, the God of hosts is His name.
gltv@Amos:6:1 @ Woe to those at ease in Zion, and those trusting in the mountain of Samaria, those noted as the leader of the nations! And the house of Israel came to them.
gltv@Amos:6:7 @ So now they shall go into exile with the first of the exiles, and the feast of those who stretch themselves shall cease.
gltv@Amos:6:8 @ The Lord Jehovah has sworn by Himself, declares Jehovah, the God of hosts: I abhor the pride of Jacob, and hate his palaces; and I will shut up the city and its fullness.
gltv@Amos:7:1 @ The Lord Jehovah made me see this: And, behold, He is forming locusts at the beginning of the coming up of the late grass; even behold, the late grass after the mowings of the king.
gltv@Amos:7:4 @ The Lord Jehovah made me to see this: And, behold, the Lord Jehovah was calling to contend by fire. And it consumed the great deep, and it was devouring part of it.
gltv@Amos:7:7 @ He made me see this: And, behold, the Lord was standing by the plumb line wall, and a plumb line in His hand.
gltv@Amos:7:8 @ And Jehovah said to me, Amos, what do you see? And I said, A plumb line. And the Lord said, Behold, I will set a plumb line in the midst of My people Israel. I will not again pass over him any more.
gltv@Amos:7:9 @ And the high places of Isaac shall be desolated, and the holy places of Israel shall be laid waste; and I will rise against the house of Jeroboam with the sword.
gltv@Amos:7:10 @ Then Amaziah, the priest of Bethel, sent to Jeroboam, the king of Israel, saying, has plotted against you in the midst of the house of Israel. The land is not able to endure all his words.
gltv@Amos:7:14 @ Then answered and said to Amaziah: I was not a prophet, nor was I a prophet's son, but I was a herdsman and a gatherer from sycamore trees.
gltv@Amos:8:1 @ The Lord Jehovah made me see this: And, behold, a basket of summer fruit!
gltv@Amos:8:2 @ And He said, Amos, what do you see? And I said, A basket of summer fruit. And Jehovah said to me, The end has come on My people Israel; I will not again pass over him any more.
gltv@Amos:8:4 @ Hear this, you who swallow up the poor, even to make the humble of the land to cease,
gltv@Amos:8:5 @ saying, When will the new moon have passed, so that we may buy grain? Or the sabbath, so that we may open the wheat, making smaller the ephah, and to enlarge the shekel, and to falsify the deceitful balances,
gltv@Amos:8:7 @ Jehovah has sworn by the Pride of Jacob, Surely I will not ever forget all their works.
gltv@Amos:8:10 @ And I will turn your feasts to mourning, and all your songs into a dirge. And I will bring up sackcloth on all loins, and baldness on every head. And I will make it like the mourning for an only one; and the end of it shall be like a bitter day.
gltv@Amos:8:12 @ And they shall wander from sea to sea, and from the north even to east; they shall roam about to seek the word of Jehovah, and they shall not find it.
gltv@Amos:8:14 @ They who swear by the guilt of Samaria, and say, As your God lives, O Dan! And, As the way of Beer-sheba lives! Even they shall fall, and not rise again.
gltv@Amos:9:1 @ I saw the Lord standing by the altar. And He said, Strike the capital of the door, and the thresholds will shake; and break them on the head of all of them. And I will kill the last of them with the sword. Not one of them who flees will flee, and not a fugitive of them will escape.
gltv@Amos:9:6 @ It is He who builds His staircase in the heavens, and He has founded His binding heavens on the earth; He who calls for the seawater and pours them out on the face of the earth, Jehovah is His name.
gltv@Amos:9:9 @ For, behold, I will command, and I will shake the house of Israel among all the nations, as one shakes with a sieve; yet not a grain shall fall to the ground.
gltv@Amos:9:11 @ In that day I will raise up the booth of David that has fallen, and I will wall up its breaks. And I will raise up its ruins, and I will build it as the days of old;
gltv@Amos:9:14 @ And I will again bring the captivity of My people Israel. And they shall build the waste cities, and live in them. And they shall plant vineyards, and drink the wine of them. They shall also make gardens, and eat the fruit of them.
gltv@Obadiah:1:3 @ The pride of your heart has deceived you, dwelling in the clefts of the rock; his dwelling is lofty, saying in his heart, Who shall bring me down to the ground?
gltv@Obadiah:1:4 @ Though you rise high as the eagle, and though you set your nest between the stars, I will bring you down from there, declares Jehovah.
gltv@Obadiah:1:7 @ All the men of your covenant have dismissed you to the border. The men who were at peace with you have deceived you and have prevailed over you. They are setting your bread as a snare under you; there is no understanding in him.
gltv@Obadiah:1:11 @ On the day of your standing on the other side, on the day that the strangers take his force captive, and foreigners enter his gates, and cast lots for Jerusalem, even you were like one of them.
gltv@Obadiah:1:15 @ For the day of Jehovah is near on all the nations: As you have done, it shall be done to you; your reward shall return on your head!
gltv@Obadiah:1:16 @ For as you have drunk on My holy mount, so all the nations shall continually drink. Yea, they shall drink and shall swallow; and they will be as if they had not been.
gltv@Obadiah:1:18 @ And the house of Jacob shall be a fire, and the house of Joseph a flame, and the house of Esau for straw. And they shall burn among them and consume them. And no survivor shall be to the house of Esau, for Jehovah has spoken.
gltv@Jonah:1:1 @ And the word of Jehovah was to Jonah, the son of Amittai, saying,
gltv@Jonah:1:2 @ Rise up, go to Nineveh, the great city, and cry out against it; for their evil has come up before Me.
gltv@Jonah:1:4 @ But Jehovah hurled a great wind into the sea, and there was a great storm in the sea, and the ship was thought to be broken.
gltv@Jonah:1:5 @ And the sailors were afraid, and each man cried to his god. And they threw out the ship's articles into the sea, to lighten it off of them. But had gone down into the hold of the ship; and he lay down, and was sound asleep.
gltv@Jonah:1:7 @ And they said, each man to his companion, Come and let us cast lots, that we may know on whose account this evil occurred to us. And they cast lots, and the lot fell on Jonah.
gltv@Jonah:1:8 @ And they said to him, Please tell us on account of whom has this evil occurred to us? What is your work? And from where do you come? What is your country, and of what people are you?
gltv@Jonah:1:9 @ And he said to them, I am a Hebrew. And I fear Jehovah, the God of Heaven, who has made the sea and the dry land.
gltv@Jonah:1:10 @ And the men were terrified with fear and said to him, What is this you have done? For the men knew that he was fleeing from before the face of Jehovah, because he had told them.
gltv@Jonah:1:11 @ And they said to him, What shall we do to you that the sea may be calm from on us? For the sea was going on and being stormy.
gltv@Jonah:1:13 @ But the men rowed to return to the dry land, but they were not able, for the sea was going on and being stormy against them.
gltv@Jonah:1:14 @ And they cried out to Jehovah, and said, We beseech You, O Jehovah, we beseech You, do not let us perish for this man's life, and do not lay innocent blood on us. For You, O Jehovah, have done as You desired.
gltv@Jonah:1:15 @ And they lifted up and threw him into the sea. And the sea ceased from its raging.
gltv@Jonah:1:17 @ And Jehovah had appointed a great fish to swallow Jonah. And was in the belly of the fish three days and three nights.
gltv@Jonah:2:3 @ For You cast me into the deep, into the heart of the seas, and the current surrounded me; all Your breakers and Your waves passed over me.
gltv@Jonah:2:4 @ And I said, I am cast off from Your eyes; yet I will again look to Your holy temple.
gltv@Jonah:2:5 @ Waters encompassed me, even to my soul; the depth closed around me; seaweed was clinging to my head.
gltv@Jonah:2:6 @ I went down to the bases of the mountains; the earth with her bars was about me forever. But You brought up my life from the pit, O Jehovah my God.
gltv@Jonah:3:1 @ And the word of Jehovah was to the second time, saying,
gltv@Jonah:3:3 @ And rose up and went to Nineveh according to the word of Jehovah. And Nineveh was a great city to God, of three days' journey.
gltv@Jonah:3:5 @ And the men of Nineveh believed in God, and they called a fast and put on sackclothes, from the greatest of them even to the least of them.
gltv@Jonah:3:6 @ And the word touched even to the king of Nineveh, and he arose from his throne, and he took his robe from him and covered himself with sackcloth and sat on the ashes.
gltv@Jonah:3:7 @ And he cried and said in Nineveh by the decree of the king and of his great ones, saying, Do not let man or beast, herd or flock, taste anything; do not let them feed nor let them drink water.
gltv@Jonah:3:8 @ But let man and beast be covered with sackcloth. And let them call with strength to God. And let them each one turn from his evil way, and from the violence that is in their palms.
gltv@Jonah:3:10 @ And God saw their works, that they turned from their evil way. And God was compassionate over the evil that He had declared to do to them, and He did not do it.
gltv@Jonah:4:1 @ But it was a great calamity to Jonah's eye, and it kindled anger in him.
gltv@Jonah:4:2 @ And he prayed to Jehovah, and said, Please, O Jehovah, was this not my word while I was on my own land? On account of this, I fled to Tarshish before, for I knew that You are a gracious God and merciful, slow to anger, and of great kindness, and One who repents over calamity.
gltv@Jonah:4:3 @ And now, O Jehovah, please take my life from me. For better is my death than my life.
gltv@Jonah:4:5 @ And went out from the city and sat on the east of the city. And he made there a booth for himself and sat under it in the shade until he should see what would happen in the city.
gltv@Jonah:4:8 @ And it happened when the sun shone, God had appointed a scorching east wind; and the sun struck Jonah's head, so that he fainted; and he asked for his life to die. And he said, Better is my death than my life.
gltv@Jonah:4:10 @ And Jehovah said, You have had pity on the plant for which you had not labored, nor made it grow, which was the son of a night and perished the son of a night,
gltv@Micah:1:1 @ The word of Jehovah that was to of Moresheth in the days of Jotham, Ahaz, and Hezekiah, kings of Judah, which he saw on Samaria and Jerusalem:
gltv@Micah:1:4 @ And the mountains shall melt under Him, and the valleys shall cleave themselves, as wax before the fire, as waters poured out on a steep place.
gltv@Micah:1:9 @ For her wounds are incurable; for it has come to Judah; it has reached to the gate of my people, to Jerusalem.
gltv@Micah:1:11 @ Pass over to them, O dweller of Shaphir, in nakedness of shame. The dweller of Zaanan has not gone out; the mourning of Bethezel shall take from you its place of standing.
gltv@Micah:1:16 @ Make yourself bald, and cut off your hair for the sons of your delight. Make your baldness increase like the eagle, for they go into exile from you.
gltv@Micah:2:4 @ In that day one shall lift up a parable against you and lament a lament of lamenting. He says, We shall be completely laid waste. He has exchanged the share of my people. How He has removed it for me! To the turncoat He has divided the fields.
gltv@Micah:2:5 @ So there shall not be for you one casting a line by lot in the congregation of Jehovah.
gltv@Micah:2:6 @ Do not drop words as they drop! They shall not drop words about these; they shall not draw back reproaches.
gltv@Micah:2:8 @ Even yesterday My people have risen up like an enemy. You strip off an inner robe from before an outer garment, from those who pass by confidently, those returning from war.
gltv@Micah:2:13 @ He breaking up has come before them; they have broken up and have passed through the gate and have gone out of it. And their king shall pass before them, and Jehovah at their head.
gltv@Micah:3:1 @ And I said, Heads of Jacob and magistrates of the house of Israel, please hear. Is it not for you to know justice?
gltv@Micah:3:3 @ who also eat the flesh of My people, and cause their skin to come off from them; yea, they break their bones and shatter, like that in the pot, and as flesh in the midst of the kettle.
gltv@Micah:3:4 @ Then they shall cry out to Jehovah, but He will not answer them. He will even hide His face from them in that time, as they have done evil in their doings.
gltv@Micah:3:7 @ And the seers shall be ashamed, and the diviners shall blush, all of them; yea, they shall cover over their mustache, for there is no answer from God.
gltv@Micah:3:9 @ Please hear this, heads of the house of Jacob, and magistrates of the house of Israel, you who abhor justice and pervert all equity.
gltv@Micah:3:12 @ Therefore, on account of you, Zion shall be plowed as a field, and Jerusalem shall become heaps, and the mountain of the house into high places of the forest.
gltv@Micah:4:4 @ But they shall each one sit under his vine and under his fig tree, and there shall be no trembling. For the mouth of Jehovah of hosts has spoken.
gltv@Micah:4:7 @ And I will make the lame into a remnant, and her who was cast off into a strong nation. And Jehovah shall reign over them in Mount Zion from now on, and to forever.
gltv@Micah:4:9 @ Now why do you cry aloud, an outcry? Is there not a king among you? Has your adviser perished? For pangs have seized you like one giving birth.
gltv@Micah:4:12 @ But they do not know the plans of Jehovah, nor do they understand His counsel. For He has gathered them like the sheaf to the threshing floor.
gltv@Micah:5:2 @ And you, Bethlehem Ephratah, being least among the thousands of Judah, out of you He shall come forth to Me to become Ruler in Israel; and His goings forth have been from of old, from the days of eternity.
gltv@Micah:5:3 @ So He will give them over until the time the one giving birth has given birth. Then the rest of His brothers shall return to the sons of Israel.
gltv@Micah:5:5 @ And this One shall be peace. When Assyria shall come into our land, and when he shall walk in our palaces, then we shall raise against him seven shepherds and eight anointed ones of man.
gltv@Micah:5:6 @ And they shall mar the land of Assyria with the sword, and the land of Nimrod at her entrances. And He shall deliver us from Assyria, when he comes into our land, and when he treads within our border.
gltv@Micah:5:7 @ And the remnant of Jacob shall be in the midst of many peoples as dew from Jehovah, as showers on a blade of grass, which does not wait for man, nor delay for the sons of men.
gltv@Micah:5:8 @ And the remnant of Jacob shall be among the nations, in the midst of many peoples, like a lion among the beasts of the forest, like a young lion among the flocks of sheep (who both tramples and tears in pieces if he passes through) and there is no one to snatch back.
gltv@Micah:5:15 @ And I will execute vengeance in anger and in fury on the nations, such as they have not heard.
gltv@Micah:6:2 @ Mountains, and you enduring foundations of the earth, hear the contention of Jehovah, for Jehovah has a quarrel with His people, and He will dispute with Israel.
gltv@Micah:6:7 @ Will Jehovah be pleased with thousands of rams, with ten thousands of torrents of oil? Shall I give my first-born for my transgression, the fruit of my body for the sin of my soul?
gltv@Micah:6:8 @ O man, He has declared to you what is good. And what does Jehovah require of you, but to do justice, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God?
gltv@Micah:6:10 @ Are there yet in the house of the wicked the treasures of wickedness, and a cursed ephah of leanness?
gltv@Micah:6:16 @ And one has kept himself as to the statutes of Omri and all the works of the house of Ahab. And you walk in their counsels, so that I may give you for a horror and her inhabitants for a hissing. And you shall bear the shame of My people.
gltv@Micah:7:2 @ The pious has perished from the earth, and the upright is not among mankind. All of them lie in wait for blood; each one hunts his brother with a net.
gltv@Micah:7:3 @ Both palms are on evil, to do it well. The ruler is asking for a bribe, also the judge. And the great one speaks the lust of his soul; he acts, and they weave it together.
gltv@Micah:7:10 @ And my enemy shall see; and shame shall cover her, the one saying to me, Where is He, Jehovah your God? My eyes shall look on her. Now she shall be for a trampling, as the mud of the streets.
gltv@Micah:7:12 @ That day he shall come even to you from Assyria and the besieged cities, and from the siege even to the River, and from sea to sea, and mountain to mountain.
gltv@Micah:7:13 @ But the land shall become a waste because of those dwelling in it, from the fruit of their doings.
