asv@Numbers:3:38 @And those that encamp before the tabernacle eastward, before the tent of meeting toward the sunrising, shall be Moses, and Aaron and his sons, keeping the charge of the sanctuary for the charge of the children of Israel; and the stranger that cometh nigh shall be put to death.

asv@Numbers:3:39 @All that were numbered of the Levites, whom Moses and Aaron numbered at the commandment of Jehovah, by their families, all the males from a month old and upward, were twenty and two thousand.

asv@Numbers:3:40 @And Jehovah said unto Moses, Number all the first-born males of the children of Israel from a month old and upward, and take the number of their names.

asv@Numbers:3:43 @And all the first-born males according to the number of names, from a month old and upward, of those that were numbered of them, were twenty and two thousand two hundred and threescore and thirteen.

asv@Numbers:4:3 @from thirty years old and upward even until fifty years old, all that enter upon the service, to do the work in the tent of meeting.

asv@Numbers:4:5 @when the camp setteth forward, Aaron shall go in, and his sons, and they shall take down the veil of the screen, and cover the ark of the testimony with it,

asv@Numbers:4:15 @And when Aaron and his sons have made an end of covering the sanctuary, and all the furniture of the sanctuary, as the camp is set forward; after that, the sons of Kohath shall come to bear it: but they shall not touch the sanctuary, lest they die. These things are the burden of the sons of Kohath in the tent of meeting.

asv@Numbers:4:23 @from thirty years old and upward until fifty years old shalt thou number them; all that enter in to wait upon the service, to do the work in the tent of meeting.

asv@Numbers:4:30 @from thirty years old and upward even unto fifty years old shalt thou number them, every one that entereth upon the service, to do the work of the tent of meeting.

asv@Numbers:4:35 @from thirty years old and upward even unto fifty years old, every one that entered upon the service, for work in the tent of meeting:

asv@Numbers:4:39 @from thirty years old and upward even unto fifty years old, every one that entered upon the service, for work in the tent of meeting,

asv@Numbers:4:43 @from thirty years old and upward even unto fifty years old, every one that entered upon the service, for work in the tent of meeting,

asv@Numbers:4:47 @from thirty years old and upward even unto fifty years old, every one that entered in to do the work of service, and the work of bearing burdens in the tent of meeting,

asv@Numbers:5:26 @and the priest shall take a handful of the meal-offering, as the memorial thereof, and burn it upon the altar, and afterward shall make the woman drink the water.

asv@Numbers:8:24 @This is that which belongeth unto the Levites: from twenty and five years old and upward they shall go in to wait upon the service in the work of the tent of meeting:

asv@Numbers:10:9 @And when ye go to war in your land against the adversary that oppresseth you, then ye shall sound an alarm with the trumpets; and ye shall be remembered before Jehovah your God, and ye shall be saved from your enemies.

asv@Numbers:10:12 @And the children of Israel set forward according to their journeys out of the wilderness of Sinai; and the cloud abode in the wilderness of Paran.

asv@Numbers:10:14 @And in the first place the standard of the camp of the children of Judah set forward according to their hosts: and over his host was Nahshon the son of Amminadab.

asv@Numbers:10:17 @And the tabernacle was taken down; and the sons of Gershon and the sons of Merari, who bare the tabernacle, set forward.

asv@Numbers:10:18 @And the standard of the camp of Reuben set forward according to their hosts: and over his host was Elizur the son of Shedeur.

asv@Numbers:10:21 @And the Kohathites set forward, bearing the sanctuary: and the others did set up the tabernacle against their coming.

asv@Numbers:10:22 @And the standard of the camp of the children of Ephraim set forward according to their hosts: and over his host was Elishama the son of Ammihud.

asv@Numbers:10:25 @And the standard of the camp of the children of Dan, which was the rearward of all the camps, set forward according to their hosts: and over his host was Ahiezer the son of Ammishaddai.

asv@Numbers:10:28 @Thus were the journeyings of the children of Israel according to their hosts; and they set forward.

asv@Numbers:10:33 @And they set forward from the mount of Jehovah three days' journey; and the ark of the covenant of Jehovah went before them three days' journey, to seek out a resting-place for them.

asv@Numbers:10:34 @And the cloud of Jehovah was over them by day, when they set forward from the camp.

asv@Numbers:10:35 @And it came to pass, when the ark set forward, that Moses said, Rise up, O Jehovah, and let thine enemies be scattered; and let them that hate thee flee before thee.

asv@Numbers:11:12 @Have I conceived all this people? have I brought them forth, that thou shouldest say unto me, Carry them in thy bosom, as a nursing-father carrieth the sucking child, unto the land which thou swarest unto their fathers?

asv@Numbers:12:16 @And afterward the people journeyed from Hazeroth, and encamped in the wilderness of Paran.

asv@Numbers:14:16 @Because Jehovah was not able to bring this people into the land which he sware unto them, therefore he hath slain them in the wilderness.

asv@Numbers:14:23 @surely they shall not see the land which I sware unto their fathers, neither shall any of them that despised me see it:

asv@Numbers:14:29 @your dead bodies shall fall in this wilderness; and all that were numbered of you, according to your whole number, from twenty years old and upward, that have murmured against me,

asv@Numbers:14:30 @surely ye shall not come into the land, concerning which I sware that I would make you dwell therein, save Caleb the son of Jephunneh, and Joshua the son of Nun.

asv@Numbers:15:23 @even all that Jehovah hath commanded you by Moses, from the day that Jehovah gave commandment, and onward throughout your generations;

asv@Numbers:15:34 @And they put him in ward, because it had not been declared what should be done to him.

asv@Numbers:16:42 @And it came to pass, when the congregation was assembled against Moses and against Aaron, that they looked toward the tent of meeting: and, behold, the cloud covered it, and the glory of Jehovah appeared.

asv@Numbers:18:31 @And ye shall eat it in every place, ye and your households: for it is your reward in return for your service in the tent of meeting.

asv@Numbers:19:4 @and Eleazar the priest shall take of her blood with his finger, and sprinkle her blood toward the front of the tent of meeting seven times.

asv@Numbers:19:7 @Then the priest shall wash his clothes, and he shall bathe his flesh in water, and afterward he shall come into the camp, and the priest shall be unclean until the even.

asv@Numbers:21:11 @And they journeyed from Oboth, and encamped at Iyeabarim, in the wilderness which is before Moab, toward the sunrising.

asv@Numbers:21:14 @Wherefore it is said in the book of the Wars of Jehovah, Vaheb in Suphah, And the valleys of the Arnon,

asv@Numbers:21:15 @And the slope of the valleys That inclineth toward the dwelling of Ar, And leaneth upon the border of Moab.

asv@Numbers:22:7 @And the elders of Moab and the elders of Midian departed with the rewards of divination in their hand; and they came unto Balaam, and spake unto him the words of Balak.

asv@Numbers:24:1 @And when Balaam saw that it pleased Jehovah to bless Israel, he went not, as at the other times, to meet with enchantments, but he set his face toward the wilderness.

asv@Numbers:26:2 @Take the sum of all the congregation of the children of Israel, from twenty years old and upward, by their fathers' houses, all that are able to go forth to war in Israel.

asv@Numbers:26:4 @Take the sum of the people, from twenty years old and upward; as Jehovah commanded Moses and the children of Israel, that came forth out of the land of Egypt.

asv@Numbers:26:62 @And they that were numbered of them were twenty and three thousand, every male from a month old and upward: for they were not numbered among the children of Israel, because there was no inheritance given them among the children of Israel.

asv@Numbers:31:2 @Avenge the children of Israel of the Midianites: afterward shalt thou be gathered unto thy people.

asv@Numbers:31:3 @And Moses spake unto the people, saying, Arm ye men from among you for the war, that they may go against Midian, to execute Jehovah's vengeance on Midian.

asv@Numbers:31:4 @Of every tribe a thousand, throughout all the tribes of Israel, shall ye send to the war.

asv@Numbers:31:5 @So there were delivered, out of the thousands of Israel, a thousand of every tribe, twelve thousand armed for war.

asv@Numbers:31:6 @And Moses sent them, a thousand of every tribe, to the war, them and Phinehas the son of Eleazar the priest, to the war, with the vessels of the sanctuary and the trumpets for the alarm in his hand.

asv@Numbers:31:7 @And they warred against Midian, as Jehovah commanded Moses; and they slew every male.

asv@Numbers:31:14 @And Moses was wroth with the officers of the host, the captains of thousands and the captains of hundreds, who came from the service of the war.

asv@Numbers:31:21 @And Eleazar the priest said unto the men of war that went to the battle, This is the statute of the law which Jehovah hath commanded Moses:

asv@Numbers:31:24 @And ye shall wash your clothes on the seventh day, and ye shall be clean; and afterward ye shall come into the camp.

asv@Numbers:31:27 @and divide the prey into two parts: between the men skilled in war, that went out to battle, and all the congregation.

asv@Numbers:31:28 @And levy a tribute unto Jehovah of the men of war that went out to battle: one soul of five hundred, both of the persons, and of the oxen, and of the asses, and of the flocks:

asv@Numbers:31:32 @Now the prey, over and above the booty which the men of war took, was six hundred thousand and seventy thousand and five thousand sheep,

asv@Numbers:31:36 @And the half, which was the portion of them that went out to war, was in number three hundred thousand and thirty thousand and seven thousand and five hundred sheep:

asv@Numbers:31:42 @And of the children of Israel's half, which Moses divided off from the men that warred,

asv@Numbers:31:49 @and they said unto Moses, Thy servants have taken the sum of the men of war that are under our charge, and there lacketh not one man of us.

asv@Numbers:31:53 @(For the men of war had taken booty, every man for himself.)

asv@Numbers:32:6 @And Moses said unto the children of Gad, and to the children of Reuben, Shall your brethren go to the war, and shall ye sit here?

asv@Numbers:32:10 @And Jehovah's anger was kindled in that day, and he sware, saying,

asv@Numbers:32:11 @Surely none of the men that came up out of Egypt, from twenty years old and upward, shall see the land which I sware unto Abraham, unto Isaac, and unto Jacob; because they have not wholly followed me:

asv@Numbers:32:14 @And, behold, ye are risen up in your fathers' stead, an increase of sinful men, to augment yet the fierce anger of Jehovah toward Israel.

asv@Numbers:32:19 @For we will not inherit with them on the other side of the Jordan, and forward; because our inheritance is fallen to us on this side of the Jordan eastward.

asv@Numbers:32:20 @And Moses said unto them, If ye will do this thing, if ye will arm yourselves to go before Jehovah to the war,

asv@Numbers:32:22 @and the land is subdued before Jehovah; then afterward ye shall return, and be guiltless towards Jehovah, and towards Israel; and this land shall be unto you for a possession before Jehovah.

asv@Numbers:32:27 @but thy servants will pass over, every man that is armed for war, before Jehovah to battle, as my lord saith.

asv@Numbers:34:3 @then your south quarter shall be from the wilderness of Zin along by the side of Edom, and your south border shall be from the end of the Salt Sea eastward;

asv@Numbers:34:4 @and your border shall turn about southward of the ascent of Akrabbim, and pass along to Zin; and the goings out thereof shall be southward of Kadesh-barnea; and it shall go forth to Hazar-addar, and pass along to Azmon;

asv@Numbers:34:11 @and the border shall go down from Shepham to Riblah, on the east side of Ain; and the border shall go down, and shall reach unto the side of the sea of Chinnereth eastward;

asv@Numbers:34:15 @the two tribes and the half-tribe have received their inheritance beyond the Jordan at Jericho eastward, toward the sunrising.

asv@Numbers:35:4 @And the suburbs of the cities, which ye shall give unto the Levites, shall be from the wall of the city and outward a thousand cubits round about.

asv@Deuteronomy:1:8 @Behold, I have set the land before you: go in and possess the land which Jehovah sware unto your fathers, to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, to give unto them and to their seed after them.

asv@Deuteronomy:1:34 @And Jehovah heard the voice of your words, and was wroth, and sware, saying,

asv@Deuteronomy:1:35 @Surely there shall not one of these men of this evil generation see the good land, which I sware to give unto your fathers,

asv@Deuteronomy:1:41 @Then ye answered and said unto me, We have sinned against Jehovah, we will go up and fight, according to all that Jehovah our God commanded us. And ye girded on every man his weapons of war, and were forward to go up into the hill-country.

asv@Deuteronomy:2:3 @Ye have compassed this mountain long enough: turn you northward.

asv@Deuteronomy:2:14 @And the days in which we came from Kadesh-barnea, until we were come over the brook Zered, were thirty and eight years; until all the generation of the men of war were consumed from the midst of the camp, as Jehovah sware unto them.

asv@Deuteronomy:2:16 @So it came to pass, when all the men of war were consumed and dead from among the people,

asv@Deuteronomy:3:17 @the Arabah also, and the Jordan and the border thereof, from Chinnereth even unto the sea of the Arabah, the Salt Sea, under the slopes of Pisgah eastward.

asv@Deuteronomy:3:27 @Get thee up unto the top of Pisgah, and lift up thine eyes westward, and northward, and southward, and eastward, and behold with thine eyes: for thou shalt not go over this Jordan.

asv@Deuteronomy:4:21 @Furthermore Jehovah was angry with me for your sakes, and sware that I should not go over the Jordan, and that I should not go in unto that good land, which Jehovah thy God giveth thee for an inheritance:

asv@Deuteronomy:4:31 @for Jehovah thy God is a merciful God; he will not fail thee, neither destroy thee, nor forget the covenant of thy fathers which he sware unto them.

asv@Deuteronomy:4:34 @Or hath God assayed to go and take him a nation from the midst of another nation, by trials, by signs, and by wonders, and by war, and by a mighty hand, and by an outstretched arm, and by great terrors, according to all that Jehovah your God did for you in Egypt before your eyes?

asv@Deuteronomy:4:41 @Then Moses set apart three cities beyond the Jordan toward the sunrising;

asv@Deuteronomy:4:42 @that the manslayer might flee thither, that slayeth his neighbor unawares, and hated him not in time past; and that fleeing unto one of these cities he might live:

asv@Deuteronomy:4:47 @And they took his land in possession, and the land of Og king of Bashan, the two kings of the Amorites, who were beyond the Jordan toward the sunrising;

asv@Deuteronomy:4:49 @and all the Arabah beyond the Jordan eastward, even unto the sea of the Arabah, under the slopes of Pisgah.

asv@Deuteronomy:6:10 @And it shall be, when Jehovah thy God shall bring thee into the land which he sware unto thy fathers, to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, to give thee, great and goodly cities, which thou buildest not,

asv@Deuteronomy:6:12 @then beware lest thou forget Jehovah, who brought thee forth out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage.

asv@Deuteronomy:6:18 @And thou shalt do that which is right and good in the sight of Jehovah; that it may be well with thee, and that thou mayest go in and possess the good land which Jehovah sware unto thy fathers,

asv@Deuteronomy:6:23 @and he brought us out from thence, that he might bring us in, to give us the land which he sware unto our fathers.

asv@Deuteronomy:7:8 @but because Jehovah loveth you, and because he would keep the oath which he sware unto your fathers, hath Jehovah brought you out with a mighty hand, and redeemed you out of the house of bondage, from the hand of Pharaoh king of Egypt.

asv@Deuteronomy:7:12 @And it shall come to pass, because ye hearken to these ordinances, and keep and do them, that Jehovah thy God will keep with thee the covenant and the lovingkindness which he sware unto thy fathers:

asv@Deuteronomy:7:13 @and he will love thee, and bless thee, and multiply thee; he will also bless the fruit of thy body and the fruit of thy ground, thy grain and thy new wine and thine oil, the increase of thy cattle and the young of thy flock, in the land which he sware unto thy fathers to give thee.

asv@Deuteronomy:8:1 @All the commandment which I command thee this day shall ye observe to do, that ye may live, and multiply, and go in and possess the land which Jehovah sware unto your fathers.

asv@Deuteronomy:8:11 @Beware lest thou forget Jehovah thy God, in not keeping his commandments, and his ordinances, and his statutes, which I command thee this day:

asv@Deuteronomy:8:18 @But thou shalt remember Jehovah thy God, for it is he that giveth thee power to get wealth; that he may establish his covenant which he sware unto thy fathers, as at this day.

asv@Deuteronomy:9:5 @Not for thy righteousness, or for the uprightness of thy heart, dost thou go in to possess their land; but for the wickedness of these nations Jehovah thy God doth drive them out from before thee, and that he may establish the word which Jehovah sware unto thy fathers, to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob.

asv@Deuteronomy:10:11 @And Jehovah said unto me, Arise, take thy journey before the people; and they shall go in and possess the land, which I sware unto their fathers to give unto them.

asv@Deuteronomy:10:17 @For Jehovah your God, he is God of gods, and Lord of lords, the great God, the mighty, and the terrible, who regardeth not persons, nor taketh reward.

asv@Deuteronomy:11:9 @and that ye may prolong your days in the land, which Jehovah sware unto your fathers to give unto them and to their seed, a land flowing with milk and honey.

asv@Deuteronomy:11:21 @that your days may be multiplied, and the days of your children, in the land which Jehovah sware unto your fathers to give them, as the days of the heavens above the earth.

asv@Deuteronomy:13:9 @but thou shalt surely kill him; thy hand shall be first upon him to put him to death, and afterwards the hand of all the people.

asv@Deuteronomy:15:9 @Beware that there be not a base thought in thy heart, saying, The seventh year, the year of release, is at hand; and thine eye be evil against thy poor brother, and thou give him nought; and he cry unto Jehovah against thee, and it be sin unto thee.

asv@Deuteronomy:17:7 @The hand of the witnesses shall be first upon him to put him to death, and afterward the hand of all the people. So thou shalt put away the evil from the midst of thee.

asv@Deuteronomy:19:4 @And this is the case of the manslayer, that shall flee thither and live: whoso killeth his neighbor unawares, and hated him not in time past;

asv@Deuteronomy:20:12 @And if it will make no peace with thee, but will make war against thee, then thou shalt besiege it:

asv@Deuteronomy:20:19 @When thou shalt besiege a city a long time, in making war against it to take it, thou shalt not destroy the trees thereof by wielding an axe against them; for thou mayest eat of them, and thou shalt not cut them down; for is the tree of the field man, that it should be besieged of thee?

asv@Deuteronomy:20:20 @Only the trees of which thou knowest that they are not trees for food, thou shalt destroy and cut them down; and thou shalt build bulwarks against the city that maketh war with thee, until it fall.

asv@Deuteronomy:26:3 @And thou shalt come unto the priest that shall be in those days, and say unto him, I profess this day unto Jehovah thy God, that I am come unto the land which Jehovah sware unto our fathers to give us.

asv@Deuteronomy:26:15 @Look down from thy holy habitation, from heaven, and bless thy people Israel, and the ground which thou hast given us, as thou swarest unto our fathers, a land flowing with milk and honey.

asv@Deuteronomy:28:11 @And Jehovah will make thee plenteous for good, in the fruit of thy body, and in the fruit of thy cattle, and in the fruit of thy ground, in the land which Jehovah sware unto thy fathers to give thee.

asv@Deuteronomy:28:54 @The man that is tender among you, and very delicate, his eye shall be evil toward his brother, and toward the wife of his bosom, and toward the remnant of his children whom he hath remaining;

asv@Deuteronomy:28:56 @The tender and delicate woman among you, who would not adventure to set the sole of her foot upon the ground for delicateness and tenderness, her eye shall be evil toward the husband of her bosom, and toward her son, and toward her daughter,

asv@Deuteronomy:28:57 @and toward her young one that cometh out from between her feet, and toward her children whom she shall bear; for she shall eat them for want of all things secretly, in the siege and in the distress wherewith thine enemy shall distress thee in thy gates.

asv@Deuteronomy:29:13 @that he may establish thee this day unto himself for a people, and that he may be unto thee a God, as he spake unto thee, and as he sware unto thy fathers, to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob.

asv@Deuteronomy:30:20 @to love Jehovah thy God, to obey his voice, and to cleave unto him; for he is thy life, and the length of thy days; that thou mayest dwell in the land which Jehovah sware unto thy fathers, to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, to give them.

asv@Deuteronomy:31:20 @For when I shall have brought them into the land which I sware unto their fathers, flowing with milk and honey, and they shall have eaten and filled themselves, and waxed fat; then will they turn unto other gods, and serve them, and despise me, and break my covenant.

asv@Deuteronomy:31:21 @And it shall come to pass, when many evils and troubles are come upon them, that this song shall testify before them as a witness; for it shall not be forgotten out of the mouths of their seed: for I know their imagination which they frame this day, before I have brought them into the land which I sware.

asv@Deuteronomy:31:23 @And he gave Joshua the son of Nun a charge, and said, Be strong and of good courage; for thou shalt bring the children of Israel into the land which I sware unto them: and I will be with thee.

asv@Deuteronomy:34:4 @And Jehovah said unto him, This is the land which I sware unto Abraham, unto Isaac, and unto Jacob, saying, I will give it unto thy seed: I have caused thee to see it with thine eyes, but thou shalt not go over thither.

asv@Joshua:1:4 @From the wilderness, and this Lebanon, even unto the great river, the river Euphrates, all the land of the Hittites, and unto the great sea toward the going down of the sun, shall be your border.

asv@Joshua:1:6 @Be strong and of good courage; for thou shalt cause this people to inherit the land which I sware unto their fathers to give them.

asv@Joshua:1:15 @until Jehovah have given your brethren rest, as he hath given you, and they also have possessed the land which Jehovah your God giveth them: then ye shall return unto the land of your possession, and possess it, which Moses the servant of Jehovah gave you beyond the Jordan toward the sunrising.

asv@Joshua:2:16 @And she said unto them, Get you to the mountain, lest the pursuers light upon you; and hide yourselves there three days, until the pursuers be returned: and afterward may ye go your way.

asv@Joshua:3:16 @that the waters which came down from above stood, and rose up in one heap, a great way off, at Adam, the city that is beside Zarethan; and those that went down toward the sea of the Arabah, even the Salt Sea, were wholly cut off: and the people passed over right against Jericho.

asv@Joshua:4:13 @about forty thousand ready armed for war passed over before Jehovah unto battle, to the plains of Jericho.

asv@Joshua:5:1 @And it came to pass, when all the kings of the Amorites, that were beyond the Jordan westward, and all the kings of the Canaanites, that were by the sea, heard how that Jehovah had dried up the waters of the Jordan from before the children of Israel, until we were passed over, that their heart melted, neither was there spirit in them any more, because of the children of Israel.

asv@Joshua:5:4 @And this is the cause why Joshua did circumcise: all the people that came forth out of Egypt, that were males, even all the men of war, died in the wilderness by the way, after they came forth out of Egypt.

asv@Joshua:5:6 @For the children of Israel walked forty years in the wilderness, till all the nation, even the men of war that came forth out of Egypt, were consumed, because they hearkened not unto the voice of Jehovah: unto whom Jehovah sware that he would not let them see the land which Jehovah sware unto their fathers that he would give us, a land flowing with milk and honey.

asv@Joshua:6:3 @And ye shall compass the city, all the men of war, going about the city once. Thus shalt thou do six days.

asv@Joshua:6:9 @And the armed men went before the priests that blew the trumpets, and the rearward went after the ark, the priests blowing the trumpets as they went.

asv@Joshua:6:13 @And the seven priests bearing the seven trumpets of rams' horns before the ark of Jehovah went on continually, and blew the trumpets: and the armed men went before them; and the rearward came after the ark of Jehovah, the priests blowing the trumpets as they went.

asv@Joshua:6:22 @And Joshua said unto the two men that had spied out the land, Go into the harlot's house, and bring out thence the woman, and all that she hath, as ye sware unto her.

asv@Joshua:8:1 @And Jehovah said unto Joshua, Fear not, neither be thou dismayed: take all the people of war with thee, and arise, go up to Ai; see, I have given into thy hand the king of Ai, and his people, and his city, and his land;

asv@Joshua:8:3 @So Joshua arose, and all the people of war, to go up to Ai: and Joshua chose out thirty thousand men, the mighty men of valor, and sent them forth by night.

asv@Joshua:8:11 @And all the people, even the men of war that were with him, went up, and drew nigh, and came before the city, and encamped on the north side of Ai: now there was a valley between him and Ai.

asv@Joshua:8:18 @And Jehovah said unto Joshua, Stretch out the javelin that is in thy hand toward Ai; for I will give it into thy hand. And Joshua stretched out the javelin that was in his hand toward the city.

asv@Joshua:8:34 @And afterward he read all the words of the law, the blessing and the curse, according to all that is written in the book of the law.

asv@Joshua:9:15 @And Joshua made peace with them, and made a covenant with them, to let them live: and the princes of the congregation sware unto them.

asv@Joshua:9:20 @This we will do to them, and let them live; lest wrath be upon us, because of the oath which we sware unto them.

asv@Joshua:10:5 @Therefore the five kings of the Amorites, the king of Jerusalem, the king of Hebron, the king of Jarmuth, the king of Lachish, the king of Eglon, gathered themselves together, and went up, they and all their hosts, and encamped against Gibeon, and made war against it.

asv@Joshua:10:7 @So Joshua went up from Gilgal, he, and all the people of war with him, and all the mighty men of valor.

asv@Joshua:10:24 @And it came to pass, when they brought forth those kings unto Joshua, that Joshua called for all the men of Israel, and said unto the chiefs of the men of war that went with him, Come near, put your feet upon the necks of these kings. And they came near, and put their feet upon the necks of them.

asv@Joshua:10:26 @And afterward Joshua smote them, and put them to death, and hanged them on five trees: and they were hanging upon the trees until the evening.

asv@Joshua:11:7 @So Joshua came, and all the people of war with him, against them by the waters of Merom suddenly, and fell upon them.

asv@Joshua:11:8 @And Jehovah delivered them into the hand of Israel, and they smote them, and chased them unto great Sidon, and unto Misrephoth-maim, and unto the valley of Mizpeh eastward; and they smote them, until they left them none remaining.

asv@Joshua:11:18 @Joshua made war a long time with all those kings.

asv@Joshua:11:23 @So Joshua took the whole land, according to all that Jehovah spake unto Moses; and Joshua gave it for an inheritance unto Israel according to their divisions by their tribes. And the land had rest from war.

asv@Joshua:12:1 @Now these are the kings of the land, whom the children of Israel smote, and possessed their land beyond the Jordan toward the sunrising, from the valley of the Arnon unto mount Hermon, and all the Arabah eastward:

asv@Joshua:12:3 @and the Arabah unto the sea of Chinneroth, eastward, and unto the sea of the Arabah, even the Salt Sea, eastward, the way to Beth-jeshimoth; and on the south, under the slopes of Pisgah:

asv@1Kings:2:5 @Moreover thou knowest also what Joab the son of Zeruiah did unto me, even what he did to the two captains of the hosts of Israel, unto Abner the son of Ner, and unto Amasa the son of Jether, whom he slew, and shed the blood of war in peace, and put the blood of war upon his girdle that was about his loins, and in his shoes that were on his feet.

asv@1Kings:2:8 @And, behold, there is with thee Shimei the son of Gera, the Benjamite, of Bahurim, who cursed me with a grievous curse in the day when I went to Mahanaim; but he came down to meet me at the Jordan, and I sware to him by Jehovah, saying, I will not put thee to death with the sword.

asv@1Kings:2:23 @Then king Solomon sware by Jehovah, saying, God do so to me, and more also, if Adonijah hath not spoken this word against his own life.

asv@1Kings:5:3 @Thou knowest how that David my father could not build a house for the name of Jehovah his God for the wars which were about him on every side, until Jehovah put them under the soles of his feet.

asv@1Kings:8:22 @And Solomon stood before the altar of Jehovah in the presence of all the assembly of Israel, and spread forth his hands toward heaven;

asv@1Kings:8:29 @that thine eyes may be open toward this house night and day, even toward the place whereof thou hast said, My name shall be there; to hearken unto the prayer which thy servant shall pray toward this place.

asv@1Kings:8:30 @And hearken thou to the supplication of thy servant, and of thy people Israel, when they shall pray toward this place: yea, hear thou in heaven thy dwelling-place; and when thou hearest, forgive.

asv@1Kings:8:35 @When heaven is shut up, and there is no rain, because they have sinned against thee; if they pray toward this place, and confess thy name, and turn from their sin, when thou dost afflict them:

asv@1Kings:8:38 @what prayer and supplication soever be made by any man, or by all thy people Israel, who shall know every man the plague of his own heart, and spread forth his hands toward this house:

asv@1Kings:8:42 @(for they shall hear of thy great name, and of thy mighty hand, and of thine outstretched arm); when he shall come and pray toward this house;

asv@1Kings:8:44 @If thy people go out to battle against their enemy, by whatsoever way thou shalt send them, and they pray unto Jehovah toward the city which thou hast chosen, and toward the house which I have built for thy name;

asv@1Kings:8:48 @if they return unto thee with all their heart and with all their soul in the land of their enemies, who carried them captive, and pray unto thee toward their land, which thou gavest unto their fathers, the city which thou hast chosen, and the house which I have built for thy name:

asv@1Kings:8:54 @And it was so, that, when Solomon had made an end of praying all this prayer and supplication unto Jehovah, he arose from before the altar of Jehovah, from kneeling on his knees with his hands spread forth toward heaven.

asv@1Kings:14:19 @And the rest of the acts of Jeroboam, how he warred, and how he reigned, behold, they are written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Israel.

asv@1Kings:14:30 @And there was war between Rehoboam and Jeroboam continually.

asv@1Kings:15:6 @Now there was war between Rehoboam and Jeroboam all the days of his life.

asv@1Kings:15:7 @And the rest of the acts of Abijam, and all that he did, are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Judah? And there was war between Abijam and Jeroboam.

asv@1Kings:15:16 @And there was war between Asa and Baasha king of Israel all their days.

asv@1Kings:15:32 @And there was war between Asa and Baasha king of Israel all their days.

asv@2Kings:8:28 @And he went with Joram the son of Ahab to war against Hazael king of Syria at Ramoth-gilead: and the Syrians wounded Joram.

asv@2Kings:10:33 @from the Jordan eastward, all the land of Gilead, the Gadites, and the Reubenites, and the Manassites, from Aroer, which is by the valley of the Arnon, even Gilead and Bashan.

asv@2Kings:13:17 @And he said, Open the window eastward; and he opened it. Then Elisha said, Shoot; and he shot. And he said, Jehovah's arrow of victory, even the arrow of victory over Syria; for thou shalt smite the Syrians in Aphek, till thou have consumed them.

asv@2Kings:13:25 @And Jehoash the son of Jehoahaz took again out of the hand of Benhadad the son of Hazael the cities which he had taken out of the hand of Jehoahaz his father by war. Three times did Joash smite him, and recovered the cities of Israel.

asv@2Kings:14:7 @He slew of Edom in the Valley of Salt ten thousand, and took Sela by war, and called the name of it Joktheel, unto this day.

asv@2Kings:14:28 @Now the rest of the acts of Jeroboam, and all that he did, and his might, how he warred, and how he recovered Damascus, and Hamath, which had belonged to Judah, for Israel, are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Israel?

asv@2Kings:24:16 @And all the men of might, even seven thousand, and the craftsmen and the smiths a thousand, all of them strong and apt for war, even them the king of Babylon brought captive to Babylon.

asv@2Kings:25:4 @Then a breach was made in the city, and all the men of war fled by night by the way of the gate between the two walls, which was by the king's garden (now the Chaldeans were against the city round about); and the king went by the way of the Arabah.

asv@2Kings:25:19 @and out of the city he took an officer that was set over the men of war; and five men of them that saw the king's face, who were found in the city; and the scribe, the captain of the host, who mustered the people of the land; and threescore men of the people of the land, that were found in the city.

asv@1Chronicles:5:19 @And they made war with the Hagrites, with Jetur, and Naphish, and Nodab.

asv@1Chronicles:9:18 @who hitherto waited in the king's gate eastward: they were the porters for the camp of the children of Levi.

asv@1Chronicles:9:23 @So they and their children had the oversight of the gates of the house of Jehovah, even the house of the tent, by wards.

asv@1Chronicles:9:24 @On the four sides were the porters, toward the east, west, north, and south.

asv@1Chronicles:12:1 @Now these are they that came to David to Ziklag, while he yet kept himself close because of Saul the son of Kish; and they were among the mighty men, his helpers in war.

asv@1Chronicles:12:24 @The children of Judah that bare shield and spear were six thousand and eight hundred, armed for war.

asv@1Chronicles:12:25 @Of the children of Simeon, mighty men of valor for the war, seven thousand and one hundred.

asv@1Chronicles:12:33 @Of Zebulun, such as were able to go out in the host, that could set the battle in array, with all manner of instruments of war, fifty thousand, and that could order the battle array, and were not of double heart.

asv@1Chronicles:12:37 @And on the other side of the Jordan, of the Reubenites, and the Gadites, and of the half-tribe of Manasseh, with all manner of instruments of war for the battle, a hundred and twenty thousand.

asv@1Chronicles:12:38 @All these being men of war, that could order the battle array, came with a perfect heart to Hebron, to make David king over all Israel: and all the rest also of Israel were of one heart to make David king.

asv@1Chronicles:18:10 @he sent Hadoram his son to king David, to salute him, and to bless him, because he had fought against Hadarezer and smitten him; (for Hadarezer had wars with Tou;) and he had with him all manner of vessels of gold and silver and brass.

asv@1Chronicles:20:4 @And it came to pass after this, that there arose war at Gezer with the Philistines: then Sibbecai the Hushathite slew Sippai, of the sons of the giant; and they were subdued.

asv@1Chronicles:20:5 @And there was again war with the Philistines; and Elhanan the son of Jair slew Lahmi the brother of Goliath the Gittite, the staff of whose spear was like a weaver's beam.

asv@1Chronicles:20:6 @And there was again war at Gath, where was a man of great stature, whose fingers and toes were four and twenty, six on each hand, and six on each foot; and he also was born unto the giant.

asv@1Chronicles:23:24 @These were the sons of Levi after their fathers' houses, even the heads of the fathers' houses of those of them that were counted, in the number of names by their polls, who did the work for the service of the house of Jehovah, from twenty years old and upward.

asv@1Chronicles:23:27 @For by the last words of David the sons of Levi were numbered, from twenty years old and upward.

asv@1Chronicles:26:14 @And the lot eastward fell to Shelemiah. Then for Zechariah his son, a discreet counsellor, they cast lots; and his lot came out northward.

asv@1Chronicles:26:15 @To Obed-edom southward; and to his sons the store-house.

asv@1Chronicles:26:16 @To Shuppim and Hosah westward, by the gate of Shallecheth, at the causeway that goeth up, watch against watch.

asv@1Chronicles:26:17 @Eastward were six Levites, northward four a day, southward four a day, and for the store-house two and two.

asv@1Chronicles:26:18 @For Parbar westward, four at the causeway, and two at Parbar.

asv@2Chronicles:4:4 @It stood upon twelve oxen, three looking toward the north, and three looking toward the west, and three looking toward the south, and three looking toward the east: and the sea was set upon them above, and all their hinder parts were inward.

asv@2Chronicles:4:10 @And he set the sea on the right side of the house eastward, toward the south.

asv@2Chronicles:6:13 @(for Solomon had made a brazen scaffold, five cubits long, and five cubits broad, and three cubits high, and had set it in the midst of the court; and upon it he stood, and kneeled down upon his knees before all the assembly of Israel, and spread forth his hands toward heaven;)

asv@2Chronicles:6:20 @that thine eyes may be open toward this house day and night, even toward the place whereof thou hast said that thou wouldest put thy name there; to hearken unto the prayer which thy servant shall pray toward this place.

asv@2Chronicles:6:21 @And hearken thou to the supplications of thy servant, and of thy people Israel, when they shall pray toward this place: yea, hear thou from thy dwelling-place, even from heaven; and when thou hearest forgive.

asv@2Chronicles:6:26 @When the heavens are shut up, and there is no rain, because they have sinned against thee; if they pray toward this place, and confess thy name, and turn from their sin, when thou dost afflict them:

asv@2Chronicles:6:29 @what prayer and supplication soever be made by any man, or by all thy people Israel, who shall know every man his own plague and his own sorrow, and shall spread forth his hands toward this house:

asv@2Chronicles:6:32 @Moreover concerning the foreigner, that is not of thy people Israel, when he shall come from a far country for thy great name's sake, and thy mighty hand, and thine outstretched arm; when they shall come and pray toward this house:

asv@2Chronicles:6:34 @If thy people go out to battle against their enemies, by whatsoever way thou shalt send them, and they pray unto thee toward this city which thou hast chosen, and the house which I have built for thy name;

asv@2Chronicles:6:38 @if they return unto thee with all their heart and with all their soul in the land of their captivity, whither they have carried them captive, and pray toward their land, which thou gavest unto their fathers, and the city which thou hast chosen, and toward the house which I have built for thy name:

asv@2Chronicles:8:9 @But of the children of Israel did Solomon make no servants for his work; but they were men of war, and chief of his captains, and rulers of his chariots and of his horsemen.

asv@2Chronicles:11:1 @And when Rehoboam was come to Jerusalem, he assembled the house of Judah and Benjamin, a hundred and fourscore thousand chosen men, that were warriors, to fight against Israel, to bring the kingdom again to Rehoboam.

asv@2Chronicles:12:15 @Now the acts of Rehoboam, first and last, are they not written in the histories of Shemaiah the prophet and of Iddo the seer, after the manner of genealogies? And there were wars between Rehoboam and Jeroboam continually.

asv@2Chronicles:13:2 @Three years reigned he in Jerusalem: and his mother's name was Micaiah the daughter of Uriel of Gibeah. And there was war between Abijah and Jeroboam.

asv@2Chronicles:13:3 @And Abijah joined battle with an army of valiant men of war, even four hundred thousand chosen men: and Jeroboam set the battle in array against him with eight hundred thousand chosen men, who were mighty men of valor.

asv@2Chronicles:14:6 @And he built fortified cities in Judah; for the land was quiet, and he had no war in those years, because Jehovah had given him rest.

asv@2Chronicles:15:7 @But be ye strong, and let not your hands be slack; for your work shall be rewarded.

asv@2Chronicles:15:14 @And they sware unto Jehovah with a loud voice, and with shouting, and with trumpets, and with cornets.

asv@2Chronicles:15:19 @And there was no more war unto the five and thirtieth year of the reign of Asa.

asv@2Chronicles:16:9 @For the eyes of Jehovah run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to show himself strong in the behalf of them whose heart is perfect toward him. Herein thou hast done foolishly; for from henceforth thou shalt have wars.

asv@2Chronicles:17:10 @And the fear of Jehovah fell upon all the kingdoms of the lands that were round about Judah, so that they made no war against Jehoshaphat.

asv@2Chronicles:17:13 @And he had many works in the cities of Judah; and men of war, mighty men of valor, in Jerusalem.

asv@2Chronicles:17:18 @and next to him Jehozabad and with him a hundred and fourscore thousand ready prepared for war.

asv@2Chronicles:18:3 @And Ahab king of Israel said unto Jehoshaphat king of Judah, Wilt thou go with me to Ramoth-gilead? And he answered him, I am as thou art, and my people as thy people; and we will be with thee in the war.

asv@2Chronicles:19:10 @And whensoever any controversy shall come to you from your brethren that dwell in their cities, between blood and blood, between law and commandment, statutes and ordinances, ye shall warn them, that they be not guilty towards Jehovah, and so wrath come upon you and upon your brethren: this do, and ye shall not be guilty.

asv@2Chronicles:20:11 @behold, how they reward us, to come to cast us out of thy possession, which thou hast given us to inherit.

asv@2Chronicles:22:5 @He walked also after their counsel, and went with Jehoram the son of Ahab king of Israel to war against Hazael king of Syria at Ramoth-gilead: and the Syrians wounded Joram.

asv@2Chronicles:24:13 @So the workmen wrought, and the work of repairing went forward in their hands, and they set up the house of God in its state, and strengthened it.

asv@2Chronicles:24:16 @And they buried him in the city of David among the kings, because he had done good in Israel, and toward God and his house.

asv@2Chronicles:25:5 @Moreover Amaziah gathered Judah together, and ordered them according to their fathers' houses, under captains of thousands and captains of hundreds, even all Judah and Benjamin: and he numbered them from twenty years old and upward, and found them three hundred thousand chosen men, able to go forth to war, that could handle spear and shield.

asv@2Chronicles:26:6 @And he went forth and warred against the Philistines, and brake down the wall of Gath, and the wall of Jabneh, and the wall of Ashdod; and he built cities in the country of Ashdod, and among the Philistines.

asv@2Chronicles:26:11 @Moreover Uzziah had an army of fighting men, that went out to war by bands, according to the number of their reckoning made by Jeiel the scribe and Maaseiah the officer, under the hand of Hananiah, one of the king's captains.

asv@2Chronicles:26:13 @And under their hand was an army, three hundred thousand and seven thousand and five hundred, that made war with mighty power, to help the king against the enemy.

asv@2Chronicles:27:7 @Now the rest of the acts of Jotham, and all his wars, and his ways, behold, they are written in the book of the kings of Israel and Judah.

asv@2Chronicles:28:12 @Then certain of the heads of the children of Ephraim, Azariah the son of Johanan, Berechiah the son of Meshillemoth, and Jehizkiah the son of Shallum, and Amasa the son of Hadlai, stood up against them that came from the war,

asv@2Chronicles:31:16 @besides them that were reckoned by genealogy of males, from three years old and upward, even every one that entered into the house of Jehovah, as the duty of every day required, for their service in their offices according to their courses;

asv@2Chronicles:31:17 @and them that were reckoned by genealogy of the priests by their fathers' houses, and the Levites from twenty years old and upward, in their offices by their courses;

asv@2Chronicles:32:6 @And he set captains of war over the people, and gathered them together to him in the broad place at the gate of the city, and spake comfortably to them, saying,

asv@2Chronicles:34:12 @And the men did the work faithfully: and the overseers of them were Jahath and Obadiah, the Levites, of the sons of Merari; and Zechariah and Meshullam, of the sons of the Kohathites, to set it forward; and others of the Levites, all that were skilful with instruments of music.

asv@2Chronicles:34:13 @Also they were over the bearers of burdens, and set forward all that did the work in every manner of service: and of the Levites there were scribes, and officers, and porters.

asv@2Chronicles:34:22 @So Hilkiah, and they whom the king had commanded, went to Huldah the prophetess, the wife of Shallum the son of Tokhath, the son of Hasrah, keeper of the wardrobe; (now she dwelt in Jerusalem in the second quarter;) and they spake to her to that effect.

asv@2Chronicles:35:14 @And afterward they prepared for themselves, and for the priests, because the priests the sons of Aaron were busied in offering the burnt-offerings and the fat until night: therefore the Levites prepared for themselves, and for the priests the sons of Aaron.

asv@2Chronicles:35:21 @But he sent ambassadors to him, saying, What have I to do with thee, thou king of Judah? I come not against thee this day, but against the house wherewith I have war; and God hath commanded me to make haste: forbear thee from meddling with God, who is with me, that he destroy thee not.

asv@Ezra:3:5 @and afterward the continual burnt-offering, and the offerings of the new moons, and of all the set feasts of Jehovah that were consecrated, and of every one that willingly offered a freewill-offering unto Jehovah.

asv@Ezra:3:8 @Now in the second year of their coming unto the house of God at Jerusalem, in the second month, began Zerubbabel the son of Shealtiel, and Jeshua the son of Jozadak, and the rest of their brethren the priests and the Levites, and all they that were come out of the captivity unto Jerusalem, and appointed the Levites, from twenty years old and upward, to have the oversight of the work of the house of Jehovah.

asv@Ezra:3:11 @And they sang one to another in praising and giving thanks unto Jehovah, saying, For he is good, for his lovingkindness endureth for ever toward Israel. And all the people shouted with a great shout, when they praised Jehovah, because the foundation of the house of Jehovah was laid.

asv@Ezra:10:5 @Then arose Ezra, and made the chiefs of the priests, the Levites, and all Israel, to swear that they would do according to this word. So they sware.

asv@Nehemiah:2:13 @And I went out by night by the valley gate, even toward the jackal's well, and to the dung gate, and viewed the walls of Jerusalem, which were broken down, and the gates thereof were consumed with fire.

asv@Nehemiah:3:26 @(Now the Nethinim dwelt in Ophel, unto the place over against the water gate toward the east, and the tower that standeth out.)

asv@Jeremiah:38:16 @So Zedekiah the king sware secretly unto Jeremiah, saying, As Jehovah liveth, that made us this soul, I will not put thee to death, neither will I give thee into the hand of these men that seek thy life.

asv@Jeremiah:39:4 @And it came to pass that, when Zedekiah the king of Judah and all the men of war saw them, then they fled, and went forth out of the city by night, by the way of the king's garden, through the gate betwixt the two walls; and he went out toward the Arabah.

asv@Jeremiah:40:9 @And Gedaliah the son of Ahikam the son of Shaphan sware unto them and to their men, saying, Fear not to serve the Chaldeans: dwell in the land, and serve the king of Babylon, and it shall be well with you.

asv@Jeremiah:41:3 @Ishmael also slew all the Jews that were with him, to wit, with Gedaliah, at Mizpah, and the Chaldeans that were found there, the men of war.

asv@Jeremiah:41:16 @Then took Johanan the son of Kareah, and all the captains of the forces that were with him, all the remnant of the people whom he had recovered from Ishmael the son of Nethaniah, from Mizpah, after that he had slain Gedaliah the son of Ahikam, to wit, the men of war, and the women, and the children, and the eunuchs, whom he had brought back from Gibeon:

asv@Jeremiah:42:14 @saying, No; but we will go into the land of Egypt, where we shall see no war, nor hear the sound of the trumpet, nor have hunger of bread; and there will we dwell:

asv@Jeremiah:46:5 @Wherefore have I seen it? they are dismayed and are turned backward; and their mighty ones are beaten down, and are fled apace, and look not back: terror is on every side, saith Jehovah.

asv@Jeremiah:46:26 @and I will deliver them into the hand of those that seek their lives, and into the hand of Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon, and into the hand of his servants; and afterwards it shall be inhabited, as in the days of old, saith Jehovah.

asv@Jeremiah:48:14 @How say ye, We are mighty men, and valiant men for the war?

asv@Jeremiah:49:2 @Therefore, behold, the days come, saith Jehovah, that I will cause an alarm of war to be heard against Rabbah of the children of Ammon; and it shall become a desolate heap, and her daughters shall be burned with fire: then shall Israel possess them that did possess him, saith Jehovah.

asv@Jeremiah:49:6 @But afterward I will bring back the captivity of the children of Ammon, saith Jehovah.

asv@Jeremiah:49:26 @Therefore her young men shall fall in her streets, and all the men of war shall be brought to silence in that day, saith Jehovah of hosts.

asv@Jeremiah:49:36 @And upon Elam will I bring the four winds from the four quarters of heaven, and will scatter them toward all those winds; and there shall be no nation whither the outcasts of Elam shall not come.

asv@Jeremiah:50:5 @They shall inquire concerning Zion with their faces thitherward, saying, Come ye, and join yourselves to Jehovah in an everlasting covenant that shall not be forgotten.

asv@Jeremiah:50:15 @Shout against her round about: she hath submitted herself; her bulwarks are fallen, her walls are thrown down; for it is the vengeance of Jehovah: take vengeance upon her; as she hath done, do unto her.

asv@Jeremiah:50:24 @I have laid a snare for thee, and thou art also taken, O Babylon, and thou wast not aware: thou art found, and also caught, because thou hast striven against Jehovah.

asv@Jeremiah:50:30 @Therefore shall her young men fall in her streets, and all her men of war shall be brought to silence in that day, saith Jehovah.

asv@Jeremiah:51:20 @Thou art my battle-axe and weapons of war: and with thee will I break in pieces the nations; and with thee will I destroy kingdoms;

asv@Jeremiah:51:32 @and the passages are seized, and the reeds they have burned with fire, and the men of war are affrighted.

asv@Jeremiah:52:7 @Then a breach was made in the city, and all the men of war fled, and went forth out of the city by night by the way of the gate between the two walls, which was by the king's garden; (now the Chaldeans were against the city round about;) and they went toward the Arabah.

asv@Jeremiah:52:25 @and out of the city he took an officer that was set over the men of war; and seven men of them that saw the king's face, that were found in the city; and the scribe of the captain of the host, who mustered the people of the land; and threescore men of the people of the land, that were found in the midst of the city.

asv@Lamentations:1:8 @Jerusalem hath grievously sinned; therefore she is become as an unclean thing; All that honored her despise her, because they have seen her nakedness: Yea, she sigheth, and turneth backward.

asv@Lamentations:2:19 @Arise, cry out in the night, at the beginning of the watches; Pour out thy heart like water before the face of the Lord: Lift up thy hands toward him for the life of thy young children, that faint for hunger at the head of every street.

asv@Ezekiel:1:9 @their wings were joined one to another; they turned not when they went; they went every one straight forward.

asv@Ezekiel:1:12 @And they went every one straight forward: whither the spirit was to go, they went; they turned not when they went.

asv@Ezekiel:1:23 @And under the firmament were their wings straight, the one toward the other: every one had two which covered on this side, and every one had two which covered on that side, their bodies.

asv@Ezekiel:1:27 @And I saw as it were glowing metal, as the appearance of fire within it round about, from the appearance of his loins and upward; and from the appearance of his loins and downward I saw as it were the appearance of fire, and there was brightness round about him.

asv@Ezekiel:3:17 @Son of man, I have made thee a watchman unto the house of Israel: therefore hear the word at my mouth, and give them warning from me.

asv@Ezekiel:3:18 @When I say unto the wicked, Thou shalt surely die; and thou givest him not warning, nor speakest to warn the wicked from his wicked way, to save his life; the same wicked man shall die in his iniquity; but his blood will I require at thy hand.

asv@Ezekiel:3:19 @Yet if thou warn the wicked, and he turn not from his wickedness, nor from his wicked way, he shall die in his iniquity; but thou hast delivered thy soul.

asv@Ezekiel:3:20 @Again, when a righteous man doth turn from his righteousness, and commit iniquity, and I lay a stumblingblock before him, he shall die: because thou hast not given him warning, he shall die in his sin, and his righteous deeds which he hath done shall not be remembered; but his blood will I require at thy hand.

asv@Ezekiel:3:21 @Nevertheless if thou warn the righteous man, that the righteous sin not, and he doth not sin, he shall surely live, because he took warning; and thou hast delivered thy soul.

asv@Ezekiel:4:3 @And take thou unto thee an iron pan, and set it for a wall of iron between thee and the city: and set thy face toward it, and it shall be besieged, and thou shalt lay siege against it. This shall be a sign to the house of Israel.

asv@Ezekiel:4:7 @And thou shalt set thy face toward the siege of Jerusalem, with thine arm uncovered; and thou shalt prophesy against it.

asv@Ezekiel:5:13 @Thus shall mine anger be accomplished, and I will cause my wrath toward them to rest, and I shall be comforted; and they shall know that I, Jehovah, have spoken in my zeal, when I have accomplished my wrath upon them.

asv@Ezekiel:6:2 @Son of man, set thy face toward the mountains of Israel, and prophesy unto them,

asv@Ezekiel:6:14 @And I will stretch out my hand upon them, and make the land desolate and waste, from the wilderness toward Diblah, throughout all their habitations: and they shall know that I am Jehovah.

asv@Ezekiel:8:2 @Then I beheld, and, lo, a likeness as the appearance of fire; from the appearance of his loins and downward, fire; and from his loins and upward, as the appearance of brightness, as it were glowing metal.

asv@Ezekiel:8:3 @And he put forth the form of a hand, and took me by a lock of my head; and the Spirit lifted me up between earth and heaven, and brought me in the visions of God to Jerusalem, to the door of the gate of the inner court that looketh toward the north; where was the seat of the image of jealousy, which provoketh to jealousy.

asv@Ezekiel:8:5 @Then said he unto me, Son of man, lift up thine eyes now the way toward the north. So I lifted up mine eyes the way toward the north, and behold, northward of the gate of the altar this image of jealousy in the entry.

asv@Ezekiel:8:14 @Then he brought me to the door of the gate of Jehovah's house which was toward the north; and behold, there sat the women weeping for Tammuz.

asv@Ezekiel:8:16 @And he brought me into the inner court of Jehovah's house; and behold, at the door of the temple of Jehovah, between the porch and the altar, were about five and twenty men, with their backs toward the temple of Jehovah, and their faces toward the east; and they were worshipping the sun toward the east.

asv@Ezekiel:9:2 @And behold, six men came from the way of the upper gate, which lieth toward the north, every man with his slaughter weapon in his hand; and one man in the midst of them clothed in linen, with a writer's inkhorn by his side. And they went in, and stood beside the brazen altar.

asv@Ezekiel:10:22 @And as for the likeness of their faces, they were the faces which I saw by the river Chebar, their appearances and themselves; they went every one straight forward.

asv@Ezekiel:11:1 @Moreover the Spirit lifted me up, and brought me unto the east gate of Jehovah's house, which looketh eastward: and behold, at the door of the gate five and twenty men; and I saw in the midst of them Jaazaniah the son of Azzur, and Pelatiah the son of Benaiah, princes of the people.

asv@Ezekiel:12:14 @And I will scatter toward every wind all that are round about him to help him, and all his bands; and I will draw out the sword after them.

asv@Ezekiel:16:8 @Now when I passed by thee, and looked upon thee, behold, thy time was the time of love; and I spread my skirt over thee, and covered thy nakedness: yea, I sware unto thee, and entered into a covenant with thee, saith the Lord Jehovah, and thou becamest mine.

asv@Ezekiel:16:42 @So will I cause my wrath toward thee to rest, and my jealousy shall depart from thee, and I will be quiet, and will be no more angry.

asv@Ezekiel:17:6 @And it grew, and became a spreading vine of low stature, whose branches turned toward him, and the roots thereof were under him: so it became a vine, and brought forth branches, and shot forth sprigs.

asv@Ezekiel:17:7 @There was also another great eagle with great wings and many feathers: and, behold, this vine did bend its roots toward him, and shot forth its branches toward him, from the beds of its plantation, that he might water it.

asv@Ezekiel:17:17 @Neither shall Pharaoh with his mighty army and great company help him in the war, when they cast up mounds and build forts, to cut off many persons.

asv@Ezekiel:17:21 @And all his fugitives in all his bands shall fall by the sword, and they that remain shall be scattered toward every wind: and ye shall know that I, Jehovah, have spoken it.

asv@Ezekiel:20:5 @and say unto them, Thus saith the Lord Jehovah: In the day when I chose Israel, and sware unto the seed of the house of Jacob, and made myself known unto them in the land of Egypt, when I sware unto them, saying, I am Jehovah your God;

asv@Ezekiel:20:6 @in that day I sware unto them, to bring them forth out of the land of Egypt into a land that I had searched out for them, flowing with milk and honey, which is the glory of all lands.

asv@Ezekiel:20:15 @Moreover also I sware unto them in the wilderness, that I would not bring them into the land which I had given them, flowing with milk and honey, which is the glory of all lands;

asv@Ezekiel:20:23 @Moreover I sware unto them in the wilderness, that I would scatter them among the nations, and disperse them through the countries;

asv@Ezekiel:20:28 @For when I had brought them into the land, which I sware to give unto them, then they saw every high hill, and every thick tree, and they offered there their sacrifices, and there they presented the provocation of their offering; there also they made their sweet savor, and they poured out there their drink-offerings.

asv@Ezekiel:20:42 @And ye shall know that I am Jehovah, when I shall bring you into the land of Israel, into the country which I sware to give unto your fathers.

asv@Ezekiel:20:46 @Son of man, set thy face toward the south, and drop thy word toward the south, and prophesy against the forest of the field in the South;

asv@Ezekiel:21:2 @Son of man, set thy face toward Jerusalem, and drop thy word toward the sanctuaries, and prophesy against the land of Israel;

asv@Ezekiel:24:13 @In thy filthiness is lewdness: because I have cleansed thee and thou wast not cleansed, thou shalt not be cleansed from thy filthiness any more, till I have caused my wrath toward thee to rest.

asv@Ezekiel:24:23 @And your tires shall be upon your heads, and your shoes upon your feet: ye shall not mourn nor weep; but ye shall pine away in your iniquities, and moan one toward another.

asv@Ezekiel:25:2 @Son of man, set thy face toward the children of Ammon, and prophesy against them:

asv@Ezekiel:27:10 @Persia and Lud and Put were in thine army, thy men of war: they hanged the shield and helmet in thee; they set forth thy comeliness.

asv@Ezekiel:27:12 @Tarshish was thy merchant by reason of the multitude of all kinds of riches; with silver, iron, tin, and lead, they traded for thy wares.

asv@Ezekiel:27:14 @They of the house of Togarmah traded for thy wares with horses and war-horses and mules.

asv@Ezekiel:27:16 @Syria was thy merchant by reason of the multitude of thy handiworks: they traded for thy wares with emeralds, purple, and broidered work, and fine linen, and coral, and rubies.

asv@Ezekiel:27:19 @Vedan and Javan traded with yarn for thy wares: bright iron, cassia, and calamus, were among thy merchandise.

asv@Ezekiel:27:22 @The traffickers of Sheba and Raamah, they were thy traffickers; they traded for thy wares with the chief of all spices, and with all precious stones, and gold.

asv@Ezekiel:27:24 @These were thy traffickers in choice wares, in wrappings of blue and broidered work, and in chests of rich apparel, bound with cords and made of cedar, among thy merchandise.

asv@Ezekiel:27:27 @Thy riches, and thy wares, thy merchandise, thy mariners, and thy pilots, thy calkers, and the dealers in thy merchandise, and all thy men of war, that are in thee, with all thy company which is in the midst of thee, shall fall into the heart of the seas in the day of thy ruin.

asv@Ezekiel:27:33 @When thy wares went forth out of the seas, thou filledst many peoples; thou didst enrich the kings of the earth with the multitude of thy riches and of thy merchandise.

asv@Ezekiel:28:21 @Son of man, set thy face toward Sidon, and prophesy against it,

asv@Ezekiel:32:27 @And they shall not lie with the mighty that are fallen of the uncircumcised, that are gone down to Sheol with their weapons of war, and have laid their swords under their heads, and their iniquities are upon their bones; for they were the terror of the mighty in the land of the living.

asv@Ezekiel:33:3 @if, when he seeth the sword come upon the land, he blow the trumpet, and warn the people;

asv@Ezekiel:33:4 @then whosoever heareth the sound of the trumpet, and taketh not warning, if the sword come, and take him away, his blood shall be upon his own head.

asv@Ezekiel:33:5 @He heard the sound of the trumpet, and took not warning; his blood shall be upon him; whereas if he had taken warning, he would have delivered his soul.

asv@Ezekiel:33:6 @But if the watchman see the sword come, and blow not the trumpet, and the people be not warned, and the sword come, and take any person from among them; he is taken away in his iniquity, but his blood will I require at the watchman's hand.

asv@Ezekiel:33:7 @So thou, son of man, I have set thee a watchman unto the house of Israel; therefore hear the word at my mouth, and give them warning from me.

asv@Ezekiel:33:8 @When I say unto the wicked, O wicked man, thou shalt surely die, and thou dost not speak to warn the wicked from his way; that wicked man shall die in his iniquity, but his blood will I require at thy hand.

asv@Ezekiel:33:9 @Nevertheless, if thou warn the wicked of his way to turn from it, and he turn not from his way; he shall die in his iniquity, but thou hast delivered thy soul.

asv@Ezekiel:38:2 @Son of man, set thy face toward Gog, of the land of Magog, the prince of Rosh, Meshech, and Tubal, and prophesy against him,

asv@Ezekiel:39:20 @And ye shall be filled at my table with horses and chariots, with mighty men, and with all men of war, saith the Lord Jehovah.

asv@Ezekiel:39:22 @So the house of Israel shall know that I am Jehovah their God, from that day and forward.

asv@Ezekiel:40:6 @Then came he unto the gate which looketh toward the east, and went up the steps thereof: and he measured the threshold of the gate, one reed broad; and the other threshold, one reed broad.

asv@Ezekiel:40:7 @And every lodge was one reed long, and one reed broad; and the space between the lodges was five cubits; and the threshold of the gate by the porch of the gate toward the house was one reed.

asv@Ezekiel:40:8 @He measured also the porch of the gate toward the house, one reed.

asv@Ezekiel:40:9 @Then measured he the porch of the gate, eight cubits; and the posts thereof, two cubits; and the porch of the gate was toward the house.

asv@Ezekiel:40:10 @And the lodges of the gate eastward were three on this side, and three on that side; they three were of one measure: and the posts had one measure on this side and on that side.

asv@Ezekiel:40:16 @And there were closed windows to the lodges, and to their posts within the gate round about, and likewise to the arches; and windows were round about inward; and upon each post were palm-trees.

asv@Ezekiel:40:20 @And the gate of the outer court whose prospect is toward the north, he measured the length thereof and the breadth thereof.

asv@Ezekiel:40:22 @And the windows thereof, and the arches thereof, and the palm-trees thereof, were after the measure of the gate whose prospect is toward the east; and they went up unto it by seven steps; and the arches thereof were before them.

asv@Ezekiel:40:24 @And he led me toward the south; and, behold, a gate toward the south: and he measured the posts thereof and the arches thereof according to these measures.

asv@Ezekiel:40:27 @And there was a gate to the inner court toward the south: and he measured from gate to gate toward the south a hundred cubits.

asv@Ezekiel:40:31 @And the arches thereof were toward the outer court; and palm-trees were upon the posts thereof: and the ascent to it had eight steps.

asv@Ezekiel:40:32 @And he brought me into the inner court toward the east: and he measured the gate according to these measures;

asv@Ezekiel:40:34 @And the arches thereof were toward the outer court; and palm-trees were upon the posts thereof, on this side, and on that side: and the ascent to it had eight steps.

asv@Ezekiel:40:37 @And the posts thereof were toward the outer court; and palm-trees were upon the posts thereof, on this side, and on that side: and the ascent to it had eight steps.

asv@Ezekiel:40:40 @And on the one side without, as one goeth up to the entry of the gate toward the north, were two tables; and on the other side, which belonged to the porch of the gate, were two tables.

asv@Ezekiel:40:44 @And without the inner gate were chambers for the singers in the inner court, which was at the side of the north gate; and their prospect was toward the south; one at the side of the east gate having the prospect toward the north.

asv@Ezekiel:40:45 @And he said unto me, This chamber, whose prospect is toward the south, is for the priests, the keepers of the charge of the house;

asv@Ezekiel:40:46 @and the chamber whose prospect is toward the north is for the priests, the keepers of the charge of the altar: these are the sons of Zadok, who from among the sons of Levi come near to Jehovah to minister unto him.

asv@Ezekiel:41:3 @Then went he inward, and measured each post of the entrance, two cubits; and the entrance, six cubits; and the breadth of the entrance, seven cubits.

asv@Ezekiel:41:7 @And the side-chambers were broader as they encompassed the house higher and higher; for the encompassing of the house went higher and higher round about the house: therefore the breadth of the house continued upward; and so one went up from the lowest chamber to the highest by the middle chamber.

asv@Ezekiel:41:11 @And the doors of the side-chambers were toward the place that was left, one door toward the north, and another door toward the south: and the breadth of the place that was left was five cubits round about.

asv@Ezekiel:41:12 @And the building that was before the separate place at the side toward the west was seventy cubits broad; and the wall of the building was five cubits thick round about, and the length thereof ninety cubits.

asv@Ezekiel:41:14 @also the breadth of the face of the house, and of the separate place toward the east, a hundred cubits.

asv@Ezekiel:41:19 @so that there was the face of a man toward the palm-tree on the one side, and the face of a young lion toward the palm-tree on the other side. thus was it made through all the house round about:

asv@Ezekiel:42:1 @Then he brought me forth into the outer court, the way toward the north: and he brought me into the chamber that was over against the separate place, and which was over against the building toward the north.

asv@Ezekiel:42:4 @And before the chambers was a walk of ten cubits' breadth inward, a way of one cubit; and their doors were toward the north.

asv@Ezekiel:42:7 @And the wall that was without by the side of the chambers, toward the outer court before the chambers, the length thereof was fifty cubits.

asv@Ezekiel:42:10 @In the thickness of the wall of the court toward the east, before the separate place, and before the building, there were chambers.

asv@Ezekiel:42:11 @And the way before them was like the appearance of the way of the chambers which were toward the north; according to their length so was their breadth: and all their egresses were both according to their fashions, and according to their doors.

asv@Ezekiel:42:12 @And according to the doors of the chambers that were toward the south was a door at the head of the way, even the way directly before the wall toward the east, as one entereth into them.

asv@Ezekiel:42:15 @Now when he had made an end of measuring the inner house, he brought me forth by the way of the gate whose prospect is toward the east, and measured it round about.

asv@Ezekiel:43:1 @Afterward he brought me to the gate, even the gate that looketh toward the east.

asv@Ezekiel:43:4 @And the glory of Jehovah came into the house by the way of the gate whose prospect is toward the east.

asv@Ezekiel:43:15 @And the upper altar shall be four cubits; and from the altar hearth and upward there shall be four horns.

asv@Ezekiel:43:17 @And the ledge shall be fourteen cubits long by fourteen broad in the four sides thereof; and the border about it shall be half a cubit; and the bottom thereof shall be a cubit round about; and the steps thereof shall look toward the east.

asv@Ezekiel:43:27 @And when they have accomplished the days, it shall be that upon the eighth day, and forward, the priests shall make your burnt-offerings upon the altar, and your peace-offerings; and I will accept you, saith the Lord Jehovah.

asv@Ezekiel:44:1 @Then he brought me back by the way of the outer gate of the sanctuary, which looketh toward the east; and it was shut.

asv@Ezekiel:45:7 @And whatsoever is for the prince shall be on the one side and on the other side of the holy oblation and of the possession of the city, in front of the holy oblation and in front of the possession of the city, on the west side westward, and on the east side eastward; and in length answerable unto one of the portions, from the west border unto the east border.

asv@Ezekiel:46:1 @Thus saith the Lord Jehovah: The gate of the inner court that looketh toward the east shall be shut the six working days; but on the sabbath day it shall be opened, and on the day of the new moon it shall be opened.

asv@Ezekiel:46:12 @And when the prince shall prepare a freewill-offering, a burnt-offering or peace-offerings as a freewill-offering unto Jehovah, one shall open for him the gate that looketh toward the east; and he shall prepare his burnt-offering and his peace-offerings, as he doth on the sabbath day: then he shall go forth; and after his going forth one shall shut the gate.

asv@Ezekiel:46:19 @Then he brought me through the entry, which was at the side of the gate, into the holy chambers for the priests, which looked toward the north: and, behold, there was a place on the hinder part westward.

asv@Ezekiel:47:1 @And he brought me back unto the door of the house; and, behold, waters issued out from under the threshold of the house eastward; (for the forefront of the house was toward the east;) and the waters came down from under, from the right side of the house, on the south of the altar.

asv@Ezekiel:47:2 @Then he brought me out by the way of the gate northward, and led me round by the way without unto the outer gate, by the way of the gate that looketh toward the east; and, behold, there ran out waters on the right side.

asv@Ezekiel:47:3 @When the man went forth eastward with the line in his hand, he measured a thousand cubits, and he caused me to pass through the waters, waters that were to the ankles.

asv@Ezekiel:47:5 @Afterward he measured a thousand; and it was a river that I could not pass through; for the waters were risen, waters to swim in, a river that could not be passed through.

asv@Ezekiel:47:8 @Then said he unto me, These waters issue forth toward the eastern region, and shall go down into the Arabah; and they shall go toward the sea; into the sea shall the waters go which were made to issue forth; and the waters shall be healed.

asv@Ezekiel:47:9 @And it shall come to pass, that every living creature which swarmeth, in every place whither the rivers come, shall live; and there shall be a very great multitude of fish; for these waters are come thither, and the waters of the sea shall be healed, and everything shall live whithersoever the river cometh.

asv@Ezekiel:47:14 @And ye shall inherit it, one as well as another; for I sware to give it unto your fathers: and this land shall fall unto you for inheritance.

asv@Ezekiel:47:17 @And the border from the sea, shall be Hazar-enon at the border of Damascus; and on the north northward is the border of Hamath. This is the north side.

asv@Ezekiel:47:19 @And the south side southward shall be from Tamar as far as the waters of Meriboth-kadesh, to the brook of Egypt, unto the great sea. This is the south side southward.

asv@Ezekiel:48:1 @Now these are the names of the tribes: From the north end, beside the way of Hethlon to the entrance of Hamath, Hazar-enan at the border of Damascus, northward beside Hamath, (and they shall have their sides east and west,) Dan, one portion.

asv@Ezekiel:48:10 @And for these, even for the priests, shall be the holy oblation: toward the north five and twenty thousand in length, and toward the west ten thousand in breadth, and toward the east ten thousand in breadth, and toward the south five and twenty thousand in length: and the sanctuary of Jehovah shall be in the midst thereof.

asv@Ezekiel:48:17 @And the city shall have suburbs: toward the north two hundred and fifty, and toward the south two hundred and fifty, and toward the east two hundred and fifty, and toward the west two hundred and fifty.

asv@Ezekiel:48:18 @And the residue in the length, answerable unto the holy oblation, shall be ten thousand eastward, and ten thousand westward; and it shall be answerable unto the holy oblation; and the increase thereof shall be for food unto them that labor in the city.

asv@Ezekiel:48:21 @And the residue shall be for the prince, on the one side and on the other of the holy oblation and of the possession of the city; in front of the five and twenty thousand of the oblation toward the east border, and westward in front of the five and twenty thousand toward the west border, answerable unto the portions, it shall be for the prince: and the holy oblation and the sanctuary of the house shall be in the midst thereof.

asv@Ezekiel:48:28 @And by the border of Gad, at the south side southward, the border shall be even from Tamar unto the waters of Meribath-kadesh, to the brook of Egypt, unto the great sea.

asv@Ezekiel:48:31 @and the gates of the city shall be after the names of the tribes of Israel, three gates northward: the gate of Reuben, one; the gate of Judah, one; the gate of Levi, one.

asv@Daniel:1:11 @Then said Daniel to the steward whom the prince of the eunuchs had appointed over Daniel, Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah:

asv@Daniel:1:16 @So the steward took away their dainties, and the wine that they should drink, and gave them pulse.
