Today's Commentary Outline:
- The Best Intentions of a Saint:
- 5 things a saint should intend to do:
- Unto thee will I pray.
- My voice shalt thou hear in the morning.
- I direct my prayer unto thee, and will look up.
- I will come into thy house in the multitude of thy mercy.
- In thy fear will I worship toward thy holy temple.
- Concerning the saint's best intentions - 2 best reasons why.
- For thou art not a God that hath pleasure in wickedness.
- For thou, LORD, wilt bless the righteous.
- To what end should the saint's intentions be directed?
- Lead me, O LORD, in thy righteousness
- Make thy way straight before my face.
- Does the saint ever truly fulfill that which he/she best intended?
- 5 Things Every Saint Should Intend to do: (How largely they go unfulfilled)
- Unto thee will I pray. (notice 1st before all else) (from the heart)
(How often we lose sight)
- For thou art not a God that hath pleasure in wickedness.
- Neither shall evil dwell with thee.
- The foolish shall not stand in thy sight.
- Thou hatest all workers of iniquity.
- For there is no faithfulness in their mouth.
- Their inward part is very wickedness.
- Their throat is an open sepulchre.
- They flatter with their tongue.
- They have rebelled against thee.
- For thou, LORD, wilt bless the righteous.
- Let them fall by their own counsels.
- Destroy thou them, O God; cast them out in the multitude of their transgressions.
- Let all those that put their trust in thee rejoice.
- Let them ever shout for joy, because thou defendest them.
- Let them also that love thy name be joyful in thee.
- To What End Should the Saint's Intentions be Directed? (What other things our intentions become)
- Lead me, O LORD, in thy righteousness.
- Make thy way straight before my face.
- Does the Saint Ever Truly Fulfill that which He/She Best Intended? (How now to better fulfill our best intentions)
- Give ear to my words.
- Most times actions speak loader than words. (Faithfulness/Sincerity/Humility/Correctablility/Perseverance)
- Am I giving HIM reason to give an ear? or just more of the same? (mercy not deserved/the attempt is appreciated)
- Am I going in from the start to first hear HIS words?
- Am I speaking from the heart or just my lips?
- Consider my meditation.
- My thought life as it lately has been... should it really be considered?
- Have my fears and doubts and business, selfish blindness and temper and lusts clouded my thought processes?
- Hearken unto the voice of my cry,
- My King? (To what exent?)
- My God? (Supreme/Sovereign)
- Intend to do what God intends for you to do... Intend to be what all God intends for you to do!
- Stay close by His side and He will lead you by His stength and lovingkindness all the way there!
