* For the preaching of the cross is (5748 ) to them that perish (5730 ) foolishness ; but unto us which are saved (5746 ) it is (5748 ) the power of God . * For it is written (5769 ), I will destroy (5692 ) the wisdom of the wise , and will bring to nothing (5692 ) the understanding of the prudent . * Where is the wise ? where is the scribe ? where is the disputer of this world ? hath not God made foolish (5656 ) the wisdom of this world ?
