* Forasmuch as ye know (5761 ) that ye were not redeemed (5681 ) with corruptible things , as silver and gold , from your vain conversation received by tradition from your fathers ; * But with the precious blood of Christ , as of a lamb without blemish and without spot : * Who verily was foreordained (5772 ) before the foundation of the world , but was manifest (5685 ) in these last times for you , * Who by him do believe (5723 ) in God , that raised him up (5660 ) from the dead , and gave (5631 ) him glory ; that your faith and hope might be (5750 ) in God . * Seeing ye have purified (5761 ) your souls in obeying the truth through the Spirit unto unfeigned love of the brethren , see that ye love (5657 ) one another with a pure heart fervently : * Being born again (5746 ), not of corruptible seed , but of incorruptible , by the word of God , which liveth (5723 ) and abideth (5723 ) for ever . * For all flesh is as grass , and all the glory of man as the flower of grass . The grass withereth (5681 ), and the flower thereof falleth away (5627 ): * But the word of the Lord endureth (5719 ) for ever . And this is (5748 ) the word which by the gospel is preached (5685 ) unto you .
