* Likewise , ye wives , be in subjection (5746 ) to your own husbands ; that , if any obey not (5719 ) the word , they also may without the word be won (5686 ) by the conversation of the wives ; * While they behold (5660 ) your chaste conversation coupled with fear . * Whose adorning let it not be (5749 ) that outward adorning of plaiting the hair , and of wearing of gold , or of putting on of apparel ; * But let it be the hidden man of the heart , in that which is not corruptible , even the ornament of a meek and quiet spirit , which is (5748 ) in the sight of God of great price . * For after this manner in the old time the holy women also , who trusted (5723 ) in God , adorned (5707 ) themselves , being in subjection (5746 ) unto their own husbands : * Even as Sara obeyed (5656 ) Abraham , calling (5723 ) him lord : whose daughters ye are (5675 ), as long as ye do well (5723 ), and are not afraid (5740 ) with any amazement . * Likewise , ye husbands , dwell with (5723 ) them according to knowledge , giving (5723 ) honour unto the wife , as unto the weaker vessel , and as being heirs together of the grace of life ; that your prayers be not hindered (5745 ).
