* But and if ye suffer (5722 ) for righteousness sake , happy are ye : and be not afraid (5676 ) of their terror , neither be troubled (5686 ); * But sanctify (5657 ) the Lord God in your hearts : and be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh (5723 ) you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear : * Having (5723 ) a good conscience ; that , whereas they speak evil (5725 ) of you , as of evildoers , they may be ashamed (5686 ) that falsely accuse (5723 ) your good conversation in Christ . * For it is better , if the will of God be so (5719 ), that ye suffer (5721 ) for well doing (5723 ), than for evil doing (5723 ). * For Christ also hath once suffered (5627 ) for sins , the just for the unjust , that he might bring (5632 ) us to God , being put to death (5772 ) in the flesh , but quickened (5685 ) by the Spirit :
