* Paul , and Silvanus , and Timotheus , unto the church of the Thessalonians which is in God the Father and in the Lord Jesus Christ : Grace be unto you , and peace , from God our Father , and the Lord Jesus Christ . * We give thanks (5719 ) to God always for you all , making (5734 ) mention of you in our prayers ; * Remembering (5723 ) without ceasing your work of faith , and labour of love , and patience of hope in our Lord Jesus Christ , in the sight of God and our Father ; * Knowing (5761 ), brethren beloved (5772 ), your election of God . * For our gospel came (5675 ) not unto you in word only , but also in power , and in the Holy Ghost , and in much assurance ; as ye know (5758 ) what manner of men we were (5675 ) among you for your sake . * And ye became (5675 ) followers of us , and of the Lord , having received (5666 ) the word in much affliction , with joy of the Holy Ghost : * So that ye were (5635 ) ensamples to all that believe (5723 ) in Macedonia and Achaia . * For from you sounded out (5769 ) the word of the Lord not only in Macedonia and Achaia , but also in every place your faith to God-ward is spread abroad (5758 ); so that we need not (5721 ) to speak (5721 ) any thing . * For they themselves shew (5719 ) of us what manner of entering in we had (5719 ) (5625 ) (5627 ) unto you , and how ye turned (5656 ) to God from idols to serve (5721 ) the living (5723 ) and true God ; * And to wait for (5721 ) his Son from heaven , whom he raised (5656 ) from the dead , even Jesus , which delivered (5740 ) us from the wrath to come (5740 ).
