* For this we say (5719 ) unto you by the word of the Lord , that we which are alive (5723 ) and remain (5742 ) unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent (5661 ) them which are asleep (5685 ). * For the Lord himself shall descend (5695 ) from heaven with a shout , with the voice of the archangel , and with the trump of God : and the dead in Christ shall rise (5698 ) first : * Then we which are alive (5723 ) and remain (5742 ) shall be caught up (5691 ) together with them in the clouds , to meet the Lord in the air : and so shall we ever be (5704 ) with the Lord .
