* But of the times and the seasons , brethren , ye have (5719 ) no need that I write (5745 ) unto you . * For yourselves know (5758 ) perfectly that the day of the Lord so cometh (5736 ) as a thief in the night . * For when they shall say (5725 ), Peace and safety ; then sudden destruction cometh upon (5731 ) them , as travail upon a woman with child (5723 ); and they shall not escape (5632 ). * But ye , brethren , are (5748 ) not in darkness , that that day should overtake (5632 ) you as a thief . * Ye are (5748 ) all the children of light , and the children of the day : we are (5748 ) not of the night , nor of darkness . * Therefore let us not sleep (5725 ), as do others ; but let us watch (5725 ) and be sober (5725 ). * For they that sleep (5723 ) sleep (5719 ) in the night ; and they that be drunken (5746 ) are drunken (5719 ) in the night . * But let us , who are (5752 ) of the day , be sober (5725 ), putting on (5671 ) the breastplate of faith and love ; and for an helmet , the hope of salvation . * For God hath not appointed (5639 ) us to wrath , but to obtain salvation by our Lord Jesus Christ , * Who died (5631 ) for us , that , whether we wake (5725 ) or sleep (5725 ), we should live (5661 ) together with him . * Wherefore comfort (5720 ) yourselves together , and edify (5720 ) one another , even as also ye do (5719 ). * And we beseech (5719 ) you , brethren , to know (5760 ) them which labour (5723 ) among you , and are over (5734 ) you in the Lord , and admonish (5723 ) you ; * And to esteem (5738 ) them very highly in love for their works sake . And be at peace (5720 ) among yourselves . * Now we exhort (5719 ) you , brethren , warn (5720 ) them that are unruly , comfort (5737 ) the feebleminded , support (5737 ) the weak , be patient (5720 ) toward all men . * See (5720 ) that none render (5632 ) evil for evil unto any man ; but ever follow (5720 ) that which is good , both among yourselves , and to all men . * Rejoice (5720 ) evermore . * Pray (5737 ) without ceasing . * In every thing give thanks (5720 ): for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you . * Quench (5720 ) not the Spirit . * Despise (5720 ) not prophesyings . * Prove (5720 ) all things ; hold fast (5720 ) that which is good . * Abstain (5732 ) from all appearance of evil . * And the very God of peace sanctify (5659 ) you wholly ; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved (5684 ) blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ . * Faithful is he that calleth (5723 ) you , who also will do (5692 ) it . * Brethren , pray (5737 ) for us . * Greet (5663 ) all the brethren with an holy kiss . * I charge (5719 ) you by the Lord that this epistle be read (5683 ) unto all the holy brethren . * The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you .
