* It is not expedient (5719 ) for me doubtless to glory (5738 ). I will come (5695 ) to visions and revelations of the Lord . * I knew (5758 ) a man in Christ above fourteen years ago , (whether in the body , I cannot tell (5758 ); or whether out of the body , I cannot tell (5758 ): God knoweth (5758 );) such an one caught up (5651 ) to the third heaven . * And I knew (5758 ) such a man , (whether in the body , or out of the body , I cannot tell (5758 ): God knoweth (5758 );) * How that he was caught up (5648 ) into paradise , and heard (5656 ) unspeakable words , which it is not lawful (5752 ) for a man to utter (5658 ). * Of such an one will I glory (5695 ): yet of myself I will not glory (5695 ), but in mine infirmities . * For though I would desire (5661 ) to glory (5664 ), I shall not be (5704 ) a fool ; for I will say (5692 ) the truth : but now I forbear (5736 ), lest any man should think (5667 ) of me above that which he seeth (5719 ) me to be , or that he heareth (5719 ) of me . * And lest I should be exalted above measure (5747 ) through the abundance of the revelations , there was given (5681 ) to me a thorn in the flesh , the messenger of Satan to buffet (5725 ) me , lest I should be exalted above measure (5747 ). * For this thing I besought (5656 ) the Lord thrice , that it might depart (5632 ) from me . * And he said (5758 ) unto me , My grace is sufficient (5719 ) for thee : for my strength is made perfect (5743 ) in weakness . Most gladly therefore will I rather glory (5695 ) in my infirmities , that the power of Christ may rest (5661 ) upon me . * Therefore I take pleasure (5719 ) in infirmities , in reproaches , in necessities , in persecutions , in distresses for Christs sake : for when I am weak (5725 ), then am (5748 ) I strong . * I am become (5754 ) a fool in glorying (5740 ); ye have compelled (5656 ) me : for I ought (5707 ) to have been commended (5745 ) of you : for in nothing am I behind (5656 ) the very chiefest apostles , though I be (5748 ) nothing . * Truly the signs of an apostle were wrought (5681 ) among you in all patience , in signs , and wonders , and mighty deeds . * For what is it (5748 ) wherein ye were inferior (5681 ) to other churches , except it be that I myself was not burdensome (5656 ) to you ? forgive (5663 ) me this wrong . * Behold (5628 ), the third time I am (5719 ) ready to come (5629 ) to you ; and I will not be burdensome (5692 ) to you : for I seek (5719 ) not yours , but you : for the children ought (5719 ) not to lay up (5721 ) for the parents , but the parents for the children . * And I will very gladly spend (5692 ) and be spent (5701 ) for you ; though the more abundantly I love (5723 ) you , the less I be loved (5743 ). * But be it so (5749 ), I did not burden (5656 ) you : nevertheless , being (5723 ) crafty , I caught (5627 ) you with guile . * Did I make a gain (5656 ) of you by any of them whom I sent (5758 ) unto you ? * I desired (5656 ) Titus , and with him I sent (5656 ) a brother . Did # Titus make a gain (5656 ) of you ? walked we (5656 ) not in the same spirit ? walked we not in the same steps ? * Again , think ye (5719 ) that we excuse ourselves (5736 ) unto you ? we speak (5719 ) before God in Christ : but we do all things , dearly beloved , for your edifying . * For I fear (5736 ), lest , when I come (5631 ), I shall not find (5632 ) you such as I would (5719 ), and that I shall be found (5686 ) unto you such as ye would (5719 ) not : lest there be debates , envyings , wraths , strifes , backbitings , whisperings , swellings , tumults : * And lest , when I come (5631 ) again , my God will humble (5661 ) me among you , and that I shall bewail (5692 ) many which have sinned already (5761 ), and have not repented (5660 ) of the uncleanness and fornication and lasciviousness which they have committed (5656 ).
