* But I determined (5656 ) this with myself , that I would not come (5629 ) again to you in heaviness . * For if I make you sorry (5719 ), who is he (5748 ) then that maketh me glad (5723 ), but the same which is made sorry (5746 ) by me ? * And I wrote (5656 ) this same unto you , lest , when I came (5631 ), I should have (5725 ) sorrow from them of whom I ought (5713 ) to rejoice (5721 ); having confidence (5756 ) in you all , that my joy is (5748 ) the joy of you all . * For out of much affliction and anguish of heart I wrote (5656 ) unto you with many tears ; not that ye should be grieved (5686 ), but that ye might know (5632 ) the love which I have (5719 ) more abundantly unto you . * But if any have caused grief (5758 ), he hath not grieved (5758 ) me , but in part : that I may not overcharge (5725 ) you all . * Sufficient to such a man is this punishment , which was inflicted of many . * So that contrariwise ye ought rather to forgive (5664 ) him , and comfort (5658 ) him , lest perhaps such a one should be swallowed up (5686 ) with overmuch sorrow . * Wherefore I beseech (5719 ) you that ye would confirm (5658 ) your love toward him . * For to this end also did I write (5656 ), that I might know (5632 ) the proof of you , whether ye be (5748 ) obedient in all things . * To whom ye forgive (5736 ) any thing , I forgive also : for if I forgave (5766 ) any thing , to whom I forgave (5766 ) it , for your sakes forgave I it in the person of Christ ; * Lest Satan should get an advantage of us (5686 ): for we are not ignorant (5719 ) of his devices . * Furthermore , when I came (5631 ) to Troas to preach Christs gospel , and a door was opened (5772 ) unto me of the Lord , * I had (5758 ) no rest in my spirit , because I found (5629 ) not Titus my brother : but taking my leave (5671 ) of them , I went from thence (5627 ) into Macedonia . * Now thanks be unto God , which always causeth us to triumph (5723 ) in Christ , and maketh manifest (5723 ) the savour of his knowledge by us in every place . * For we are (5748 ) unto God a sweet savour of Christ , in them that are saved (5746 ), and in them that perish (5730 ): * To the one we are the savour of death unto death ; and to the other the savour of life unto life . And who is sufficient for these things ? * For we are (5748 ) not as many , which corrupt (5723 ) the word of God : but as of sincerity , but as of God , in the sight of God speak we (5719 ) in Christ .
