* For we know (5758 ) that if our earthly house of this tabernacle were dissolved (5686 ), we have (5719 ) a building of God , an house not made with hands , eternal in the heavens . * For in this we groan (5719 ), earnestly desiring (5723 ) to be clothed upon (5670 ) with our house which is from heaven : * If so be that being clothed (5671 ) we shall not be found (5701 ) naked . * For we that are (5752 ) in this tabernacle do groan (5719 ), being burdened (5746 ): not for that we would (5719 ) be unclothed (5670 ), but clothed upon (5670 ), that mortality might be swallowed up (5686 ) of life . * Now he that hath wrought (5666 ) us for the selfsame thing is God , who also hath given (5631 ) unto us the earnest of the Spirit . * Therefore we are always confident (5723 ), knowing (5761 ) that , whilst we are at home (5723 ) in the body , we are absent (5719 ) from the Lord : * (For we walk (5719 ) by faith , not by sight :) * We are confident (5719 ), I say , and willing (5719 ) rather to be absent (5658 ) from the body , and to be present (5658 ) with the Lord . * Wherefore we labour (5736 ), that , whether present (5723 ) or absent (5723 ), we may be (5750 ) accepted of him . * For we must (5748 ) all appear (5683 ) before the judgment seat of Christ ; that every one may receive (5672 ) the things done in his body , according to that he hath done (5656 ), whether it be good or bad . * Knowing (5761 ) therefore the terror of the Lord , we persuade (5719 ) men ; but we are made manifest (5769 ) unto God ; and I trust (5719 ) also are made manifest (5771 ) in your consciences . * For we commend (5719 ) not ourselves again unto you , but give (5723 ) you occasion to glory on our behalf , that ye may have (5725 ) somewhat to answer them which glory (5740 ) in appearance , and not in heart . * For whether we be beside ourselves (5627 ), it is to God : or whether we be sober (5719 ), it is for your cause . * For the love of Christ constraineth (5719 ) us ; because we thus judge (5660 ), that if one died (5627 ) for all , then were all dead (5627 ): * And that he died (5627 ) for all , that they which live (5723 ) should not henceforth live (5725 ) unto themselves , but unto him which died (5631 ) for them , and rose again (5685 ). * Wherefore henceforth know (5758 ) we no man after the flesh : yea , though we have known (5758 ) Christ after the flesh , yet now henceforth know we (5719 ) him no more . * Therefore if any man be in Christ , he is a new creature : old things are passed away (5627 ); behold (5628 ), all things are become (5754 ) new . * And all things are of God , who hath reconciled (5660 ) us to himself by Jesus Christ , and hath given (5631 ) to us the ministry of reconciliation ; * To wit , that God was (5713 ) in Christ , reconciling (5723 ) the world unto himself , not imputing (5740 ) their trespasses unto them ; and hath committed (5642 ) unto us the word of reconciliation . * Now then we are ambassadors (5719 ) for Christ , as though God did beseech (5723 ) you by us : we pray (5736 ) you in Christs stead , be ye reconciled (5649 ) to God . * For he hath made (5656 ) him to be sin for us , who knew (5631 ) no sin ; that we might be made (5741 ) the righteousness of God in him .
