* Let no man deceive (5661 ) you by any means : for that day shall not come , except there come (5632 ) a falling away first , and that man of sin be revealed (5686 ), the son of perdition ; * Who opposeth (5740 ) and exalteth (5746 ) himself above all that is called (5746 ) God , or that is worshipped ; so that he as God sitteth (5658 ) in the temple of God , shewing (5723 ) himself that he is (5748 ) God . * Remember ye (5719 ) not , that , when I was (5752 ) yet with you , I told (5707 ) you these things ? * And now ye know (5758 ) what withholdeth (5723 ) that he might be revealed (5683 ) in his time . * For the mystery of iniquity doth already work (5731 ): only he who now letteth (5723 ) will let , until he be taken (5638 ) out of the way . * And then shall that Wicked be revealed (5701 ), whom the Lord shall consume (5692 ) with the spirit of his mouth , and shall destroy (5692 ) with the brightness of his coming : * Even him , whose coming is (5748 ) after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders , * And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish (5730 ); because they received (5662 ) not the love of the truth , that they might be saved (5683 ). * And for this cause God shall send (5692 ) them strong delusion , that they should believe (5658 ) a lie : * That they all might be damned (5686 ) who believed (5660 ) not the truth , but had pleasure (5660 ) in unrighteousness .
