* This know (5720 ) also , that in the last days perilous times shall come (5695 ). * For men shall be (5704 ) lovers of their own selves , covetous , boasters , proud , blasphemers , disobedient to parents , unthankful , unholy , * Without natural affection , trucebreakers , false accusers , incontinent , fierce , despisers of those that are good , * Traitors , heady , highminded (5772 ), lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God ; * Having (5723 ) a form of godliness , but denying (5768 ) the power thereof : from such turn away (5732 ). * For of this sort are they (5748 ) which creep (5723 ) into houses , and lead captive (5723 ) silly women laden (5772 ) with sins , led away (5746 ) with divers lusts , * Ever learning (5723 ), and never able (5740 ) to come (5629 ) to the knowledge of the truth . * Now as Jannes and Jambres withstood (5627 ) Moses , so do these also resist (5731 ) the truth : men of corrupt (5772 ) minds , reprobate concerning the faith . * But they shall proceed (5692 ) no further : for their folly shall be (5704 ) manifest unto all men , as theirs also was (5633 ). * But thou hast fully known (5758 ) my doctrine , manner of life , purpose , faith , longsuffering , charity , patience , * Persecutions , afflictions , which came (5633 ) unto me at Antioch , at Iconium , at Lystra ; what persecutions I endured (5656 ): but out of them all the Lord delivered (5673 ) me . * Yea , and all that will (5723 ) live (5721 ) godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution (5701 ). * But evil men and seducers shall wax (5692 ) worse and worse , deceiving (5723 ), and being deceived (5746 ). * But continue (5720 ) thou in the things which thou hast learned (5627 ) and hast been assured of (5681 ), knowing (5761 ) of whom thou hast learned (5627 ) them ; * And that from a child thou hast known (5758 ) the holy scriptures , which are able (5740 ) to make thee wise (5658 ) unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus . * All scripture is given by inspiration of God , and is profitable for doctrine , for reproof , for correction , for instruction in righteousness : * That the man of God may be (5753 ) perfect , throughly furnished (5772 ) unto all good works .
