* And when they had gone through (5631 ) the isle unto Paphos , they found (5627 ) a certain sorcerer , a false prophet , a Jew , whose name was Barjesus : * Which was (5713 ) with the deputy of the country , Sergius Paulus , a prudent man ; who called (5666 ) for Barnabas and Saul , and desired (5656 ) to hear (5658 ) the word of God . * But Elymas the sorcerer (for so is his name by interpretation (5743 )) withstood (5710 ) them , seeking (5723 ) to turn away (5658 ) the deputy from the faith .
