* Now when they had passed through (5660 ) Amphipolis and Apollonia , they came (5627 ) to Thessalonica , where was (5713 ) a synagogue of the Jews : * And Paul , as his manner was (5756 ), went in (5627 ) unto them , and three sabbath days reasoned (5711 ) with them out of the scriptures , * Opening (5723 ) and alleging (5734 ), that Christ must needs (5713 ) have suffered (5629 ), and risen again (5629 ) from the dead ; and that this Jesus , whom I preach (5719 ) unto you , is (5748 ) Christ . * And some of them believed (5681 ), and consorted (5681 ) with Paul and Silas ; and of the devout (5740 ) Greeks a great multitude , and of the chief women not a few . * But the Jews which believed not (5723 ), moved with envy (5660 ), took unto them (5642 ) certain lewd fellows of the baser sort , and gathered a company (5660 ), and set all the city on an uproar (5707 ), and assaulted (5631 ) the house of Jason , and sought (5707 ) to bring (5629 ) them out to the people .
