Acts:18

*
After these things Paul departed (
5685 )
from Athens ,
and came (
5627 )
to Corinth ;
*
And found (
5631 )
a certain Jew named Aquila ,
born in Pontus ,
lately come (
5756 )
from Italy ,
with his wife Priscilla ; (
because that Claudius had commanded (
5760 )
all Jews to depart (
5745 )
from Rome :)
and came (
5627 )
unto them .
*
And because he was (
5750 )
of the same craft ,
he abode (
5707 )
with them ,
and wrought (
5711 ):
for by their occupation they were (
5713 )
tentmakers .
*
And he reasoned (
5711 )
in the synagogue every sabbath ,
and persuaded (
5707 )
the Jews and the Greeks .
*
And when Silas and Timotheus were come (
5627 )
from Macedonia ,
Paul was pressed (
5712 )
in the spirit ,
and testified (
5740 )
to the Jews that Jesus was Christ .
*
And when they opposed (
5734 )
themselves ,
and blasphemed (
5723 ),
he shook (
5671 )
his raiment ,
and said (
5627 )
unto them ,
Your blood be upon your own heads ;
I am clean :
from henceforth I will go (
5695 )
unto the Gentiles .
*
And he departed (
5631 )
thence ,
and entered (
5627 )
into a certain mans house ,
named Justus ,
one that worshipped (
5740 )
God ,
whose house joined hard (
5723 ) (
5713 )
to the synagogue .
*
And Crispus ,
the chief ruler of the synagogue ,
believed (
5656 )
on the Lord with all his house ;
and many of the Corinthians hearing (
5723 )
believed (
5707 ),
and were baptized (
5712 ).
*
Then spake (
5627 )
the Lord to Paul in the night by a vision ,
Be not afraid (
5737 ),
but speak (
5720 ),
and hold not thy peace (
5661 ):
*
For I am (
5748 )
with thee ,
and no man shall set on (
5698 )
thee to hurt (
5658 )
thee :
for I have (
5748 )
much people in this city .
*
And he continued (
5656 )
there a year and six months ,
teaching (
5723 )
the word of God among them .
*
And when Gallio was the deputy (
5723 )
of Achaia ,
the Jews made insurrection (
5627 )
with one accord against Paul ,
and brought (
5627 )
him to the judgment seat ,
*
Saying (
5723 ),
This fellow persuadeth (
5719 )
men to worship (
5738 )
God contrary to the law .
*
And when Paul was now about (
5723 )
to open (
5721 )
his mouth ,
Gallio said (
5627 )
unto the Jews ,
If it were (
5713 )
a matter of wrong or wicked lewdness ,
O ye Jews ,
reason would that I should bear (
5633 )
with you :
*
But if it be (
5748 )
a question of words and names ,
and of your law ,
look ye (
5695 )
to it ;
for I will be (
5736 ) (
5750 )
no judge of such matters .
*
And he drave (
5656 )
them from the judgment seat .
*
Then all the Greeks took (
5637 )
Sosthenes ,
the chief ruler of the synagogue ,
and beat (
5707 )
him before the judgment seat .
And Gallio cared (
5707 )
for none of those things .
*
And Paul after this tarried (
5660 )
there yet a good while ,
and then took his leave (
5671 )
of the brethren ,
and sailed thence (
5707 )
into Syria ,
and with him Priscilla and Aquila ;
having shorn (
5671 )
his head in Cenchrea :
for he had (
5707 )
a vow .
*
And he came (
5656 )
to Ephesus ,
and left (
5627 )
them there :
but he himself entered (
5631 )
into the synagogue ,
and reasoned with (
5675 )
the Jews .
*
When they desired (
5723 )
him to tarry (
5658 )
longer time with them ,
he consented (
5656 )
not ;
*
But bade them farewell (
5662 ),
saying (
5631 ),
I must (
5748 )
by all means keep (
5658 )
this feast that cometh (
5740 )
in Jerusalem :
but I will return (
5692 )
again unto you ,
if God will (
5723 ).
And he sailed (
5681 )
from Ephesus .
*
And when he had landed (
5631 )
at Caesarea ,
and gone up (
5631 ),
and saluted (
5666 )
the church ,
he went down (
5627 )
to Antioch .
*
And after he had spent (
5660 )
some time there ,
he departed (
5627 ),
and went over (
5740 )
all the country of Galatia and Phrygia in order ,
strengthening (
5723 )
all the disciples .
*
And a certain Jew named Apollos ,
born at Alexandria ,
an eloquent man ,
and mighty (
5752 )
in the scriptures ,
came (
5656 )
to Ephesus .
*
This man was (
5713 )
instructed in (
5772 )
the way of the Lord ;
and being fervent (
5723 )
in the spirit ,
he spake (
5707 )
and taught (
5707 )
diligently the things of the Lord ,
knowing (
5740 )
only the baptism of John .
*
And he began (
5662 )
to speak boldly (
5738 )
in the synagogue :
whom when Aquila and Priscilla had heard (
5660 ),
they took (
5639 )
him unto them ,
and expounded (
5639 )
unto him the way of God more perfectly .
*
And when he was disposed (
5740 )
to pass (
5629 )
into Achaia ,
the brethren wrote (
5656 ),
exhorting (
5671 )
the disciples to receive (
5664 )
him :
who ,
when he was come (
5637 ),
helped them (
5639 )
much which had believed (
5761 )
through grace :
*
For he mightily convinced (
5711 )
the Jews ,
and that publickly ,
shewing (
5723 )
by the scriptures that Jesus was (
5750 )
Christ .
