* And when Gallio was the deputy (5723 ) of Achaia , the Jews made insurrection (5627 ) with one accord against Paul , and brought (5627 ) him to the judgment seat , * Saying (5723 ), This fellow persuadeth (5719 ) men to worship (5738 ) God contrary to the law . * And when Paul was now about (5723 ) to open (5721 ) his mouth , Gallio said (5627 ) unto the Jews , If it were (5713 ) a matter of wrong or wicked lewdness , O ye Jews , reason would that I should bear (5633 ) with you : * But if it be (5748 ) a question of words and names , and of your law , look ye (5695 ) to it ; for I will be (5736 ) (5750 ) no judge of such matters . * And he drave (5656 ) them from the judgment seat . * Then all the Greeks took (5637 ) Sosthenes , the chief ruler of the synagogue , and beat (5707 ) him before the judgment seat . And Gallio cared (5707 ) for none of those things .
