* Now Peter and John went up (5707 ) together into the temple at the hour of prayer , being the ninth hour . * And a certain man lame (5723 ) from his mothers womb was carried (5712 ), whom they laid (5707 ) daily at the gate of the temple which is called (5746 ) Beautiful , to ask (5721 ) alms of them that entered (5740 ) into the temple ; * Who seeing (5631 ) Peter and John about (5723 ) to go (5750 ) into the temple asked (5707 ) (5625 ) (5629 ) an alms . * And Peter , fastening his eyes (5660 ) upon him with John , said (5627 ), Look (5657 ) on us . * And he gave heed (5707 ) unto them , expecting (5723 ) to receive (5629 ) something of them . * Then Peter said (5627 ), Silver and gold have (5719 ) I none ; but such as I have (5719 ) give I (5719 ) thee : In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth rise up (5669 ) and walk (5720 ). * And he took (5660 ) him by the right hand , and lifted him up (5656 ): and immediately his feet and ankle bones received strength (5681 ). * And he leaping up (5740 ) stood (5627 ), and walked (5707 ), and entered (5627 ) with them into the temple , walking (5723 ), and leaping (5740 ), and praising (5723 ) God . * And all the people saw (5627 ) him walking (5723 ) and praising (5723 ) God : * And they knew (5707 ) that it was (5713 ) he which sat (5740 ) for alms at the Beautiful gate of the temple : and they were filled (5681 ) with wonder and amazement at that which had happened (5761 ) unto him . * And as the lame man which was healed (5685 ) held (5723 ) Peter and John , all the people ran together (5627 ) unto them in the porch that is called (5746 ) Solomons , greatly wondering . * And when Peter saw (5631 ) it , he answered (5662 ) unto the people , Ye men of Israel , why marvel ye (5719 ) at this ? or why look ye so earnestly (5719 ) on us , as though by our own power or holiness we had made (5761 ) this man to walk (5721 )? * The God of Abraham , and of Isaac , and of Jacob , the God of our fathers , hath glorified (5656 ) his Son Jesus ; whom ye delivered up (5656 ), and denied (5662 ) him in the presence of Pilate , when he was determined (5660 ) to let him go (5721 ). * But ye denied (5662 ) the Holy One and the Just , and desired (5668 ) a murderer to be granted (5683 ) unto you ; * And killed (5656 ) the Prince of life , whom God hath raised (5656 ) from the dead ; whereof we are (5748 ) witnesses . * And his name through faith in his name hath made this man strong (5656 ), whom ye see (5719 ) and know (5758 ): yea , the faith which is by him hath given (5656 ) him this perfect soundness in the presence of you all . * And now , brethren , I wot (5758 ) that through ignorance ye did (5656 ) it , as did also your rulers . * But those things , which God before had shewed (5656 ) by the mouth of all his prophets , that Christ should suffer (5629 ), he hath so fulfilled (5656 ). * Repent ye (5657 ) therefore , and be converted (5657 ), that your sins may be blotted out (5683 ), when the times of refreshing shall come (5632 ) from the presence of the Lord ; * And he shall send (5661 ) Jesus Christ , which before was preached (5772 ) unto you : * Whom the heaven must (5748 ) receive (5664 ) until the times of restitution of all things , which God hath spoken (5656 ) by the mouth of all his holy prophets since the world began . * For Moses truly said (5627 ) unto the fathers , A prophet shall the Lord your God raise up (5692 ) unto you of your brethren , like unto me ; him shall ye hear (5695 ) in all things whatsoever he shall say (5661 ) unto you . * And it shall come to pass (5704 ), that every soul , which will not hear (5661 ) that prophet , shall be destroyed (5701 ) from among the people . * Yea , and all the prophets from Samuel and those that follow after , as many as have spoken (5656 ), have likewise foretold (5656 ) of these days . * Ye are (5748 ) the children of the prophets , and of the covenant which God made (5639 ) with our fathers , saying (5723 ) unto Abraham , And in thy seed shall all the kindreds of the earth be blessed (5701 ). * Unto you first God , having raised up (5660 ) his Son Jesus , sent (5656 ) him to bless (5723 ) you , in turning away (5721 ) every one of you from his iniquities .
