* And when forty years were expired (5685 ), there appeared (5681 ) to him in the wilderness of mount Sina an angel of the Lord in a flame of fire in a bush . * When Moses saw (5631 ) it , he wondered (5656 ) at the sight : and as he drew near (5740 ) to behold (5658 ) it , the voice of the Lord came (5633 ) unto him , * Saying , I am the God of thy fathers , the God of Abraham , and the God of Isaac , and the God of Jacob . Then Moses trembled (5637 ), and durst (5707 ) not behold (5658 ). * Then said (5627 ) the Lord to him , Put off (5657 ) thy shoes from thy feet : for the place where thou standest (5758 ) is (5748 ) holy ground . * I have seen (5631 ), I have seen (5627 ) the affliction of my people which is in Egypt , and I have heard (5656 ) their groaning , and am come down (5627 ) to deliver (5641 ) them . And now come (5773 ), I will send (5692 ) thee into Egypt . * This Moses whom they refused (5662 ), saying (5631 ), Who made (5656 ) thee a ruler and a judge ? the same did God send (5656 ) to be a ruler and a deliverer by the hand of the angel which appeared (5685 ) to him in the bush . * He brought them out (5627 ), after that he had shewed (5660 ) wonders and signs in the land of Egypt , and in the Red sea , and in the wilderness forty years . * This is (5748 ) that Moses , which said (5631 ) unto the children of Israel , A prophet shall the Lord your God raise up (5692 ) unto you of your brethren , like unto me ; him shall ye hear (5695 ). * This is he (5748 ), that was (5637 ) in the church in the wilderness with the angel which spake (5723 ) to him in the mount Sina , and with our fathers : who received (5662 ) the lively (5723 ) oracles to give (5629 ) unto us :
