* Now when the apostles which were at Jerusalem heard (5660 ) that Samaria had received (5766 ) the word of God , they sent (5656 ) unto them Peter and John : * Who , when they were come down (5631 ), prayed (5662 ) for them , that they might receive (5632 ) the Holy Ghost : * (For as yet he was (5713 ) fallen (5761 ) upon none of them : only they were (5707 ) baptized (5772 ) in the name of the Lord Jesus .) * Then laid they (5707 ) their hands on them , and they received (5707 ) the Holy Ghost . * And when Simon saw (5666 ) that through laying on of the apostles hands the Holy Ghost was given (5743 ), he offered (5656 ) them money , * Saying (5723 ), Give (5628 ) me also this power , that on whomsoever I lay (5632 ) hands , he may receive (5725 ) the Holy Ghost . * But Peter said (5627 ) unto him , Thy money perish (5751 ) with thee , because thou hast thought (5656 ) that the gift of God may be purchased (5738 ) with money . * Thou hast (5748 ) neither part nor lot in this matter : for thy heart is (5748 ) not right in the sight of God . * Repent (5657 ) therefore of this thy wickedness , and pray (5676 ) God , if perhaps the thought of thine heart may be forgiven (5701 ) thee . * For I perceive (5719 ) that thou art (5752 ) in the gall of bitterness , and in the bond of iniquity . * Then answered (5679 ) Simon , and said (5627 ), Pray (5676 ) ye to the Lord for me , that none of these things which ye have spoken (5758 ) come (5632 ) upon me . * And they , when they had testified (5666 ) and preached (5660 ) the word of the Lord , returned (5656 ) to Jerusalem , and preached the gospel (5668 ) in many villages of the Samaritans .
