* Paul , an apostle of Jesus Christ by the will of God , and Timotheus our brother , * To the saints and faithful brethren in Christ which are at Colosse : Grace be unto you , and peace , from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ . * We give thanks (5719 ) to God and the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ , praying (5740 ) always for you , * Since we heard (5660 ) of your faith in Christ Jesus , and of the love which ye have to all the saints , * For the hope which is laid up (5740 ) for you in heaven , whereof ye heard before (5656 ) in the word of the truth of the gospel ; * Which is come (5752 ) unto you , as it is in all the world ; and bringeth forth fruit (5748 ) (5734 ), as it doth also in you , since the day ye heard (5656 ) of it , and knew (5627 ) the grace of God in truth : * As ye also learned (5627 ) of Epaphras our dear fellowservant , who is (5748 ) for you a faithful minister of Christ ; * Who also declared (5660 ) unto us your love in the Spirit . * For this cause we also , since the day we heard (5656 ) it , do not cease (5731 ) to pray (5740 ) for you , and to desire (5734 ) that ye might be filled (5686 ) with the knowledge of his will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding ; * That ye might walk (5658 ) worthy of the Lord unto all pleasing , being fruitful (5723 ) in every good work , and increasing (5746 ) in the knowledge of God ; * Strengthened (5746 ) with all might , according to his glorious power , unto all patience and longsuffering with joyfulness ; * Giving thanks (5723 ) unto the Father , which hath made us meet (5660 ) to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light : * Who hath delivered (5673 ) us from the power of darkness , and hath translated (5656 ) us into the kingdom of his dear Son : * In whom we have (5719 ) redemption through his blood , even the forgiveness of sins : * Who is (5748 ) the image of the invisible God , the firstborn of every creature : * For by him were all things created (5681 ), that are in heaven , and that are in earth , visible and invisible , whether they be thrones , or dominions , or principalities , or powers : all things were created (5769 ) by him , and for him : * And he is (5748 ) before all things , and by him all things consist (5758 ). * And he is (5748 ) the head of the body , the church : who is (5748 ) the beginning , the firstborn from the dead ; that in all things he might have (5638 ) the preeminence (5723 ). * For it pleased (5656 ) the Father that in him should all fulness dwell (5658 ); * And , having made peace (5660 ) through the blood of his cross , by him to reconcile (5658 ) all things unto himself ; by him , I say , whether they be things in earth , or things in heaven . * And you , that were (5752 ) sometime alienated (5772 ) and enemies in your mind by wicked works , yet now hath he reconciled (5656 ) * In the body of his flesh through death , to present (5658 ) you holy and unblameable and unreproveable in his sight : * If ye continue (5719 ) in the faith grounded (5772 ) and settled , and be not moved away (5746 ) from the hope of the gospel , which ye have heard (5656 ), and which was preached (5685 ) to every creature which is under heaven ; whereof I Paul am made (5633 ) a minister ; * Who now rejoice (5719 ) in my sufferings for you , and fill up (5719 ) that which is behind of the afflictions of Christ in my flesh for his bodys sake , which is (5748 ) the church : * Whereof I am made (5633 ) a minister , according to the dispensation of God which is given (5685 ) to me for you , to fulfil (5658 ) the word of God ; * Even the mystery which hath been hid (5772 ) from ages and from generations , but now is made manifest (5681 ) to his saints : * To whom God would (5656 ) make known (5658 ) what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles ; which is (5748 ) Christ in you , the hope of glory : * Whom we preach (5719 ), warning (5723 ) every man , and teaching (5723 ) every man in all wisdom ; that we may present (5661 ) every man perfect in Christ Jesus : * Whereunto I also labour (5719 ), striving (5740 ) according to his working , which worketh (5734 ) in me mightily .
