* Children , obey (5720 ) your parents in the Lord : for this is (5748 ) right . * Honour (5720 ) thy father and mother ; (which is (5748 ) the first commandment with promise ;) * That it may be (5638 ) well with thee , and thou mayest (5704 ) live long on the earth . * And , ye fathers , provoke not your children to wrath (5720 ): but bring them up (5720 ) in the nurture and admonition of the Lord . * Servants , be obedient (5720 ) to them that are your masters according to the flesh , with fear and trembling , in singleness of your heart , as unto Christ ; * Not with eyeservice , as menpleasers ; but as the servants of Christ , doing (5723 ) the will of God from the heart ; * With good will doing service (5723 ), as to the Lord , and not to men : * Knowing (5761 ) that whatsoever good thing any man doeth (5661 ), the same shall he receive (5695 ) of the Lord , whether he be bond or free . * And , ye masters , do (5720 ) the same things unto them , forbearing (5723 ) threatening : knowing (5761 ) that your Master also is (5748 ) in heaven ; neither is there (5748 ) respect of persons with him . * Finally , my brethren , be strong (5744 ) in the Lord , and in the power of his might . * Put on (5669 ) the whole armour of God , that ye may be able (5738 ) to stand (5629 ) against the wiles of the devil . * For we wrestle not against (5748 ) flesh and blood , but against principalities , against powers , against the rulers of the darkness of this world , against spiritual wickedness in high places . * Wherefore take unto you (5628 ) the whole armour of God , that ye may be able (5667 ) to withstand (5629 ) in the evil day , and having done (5666 ) all , to stand (5629 ). * Stand (5628 ) therefore , having your loins girt about (5671 ) with truth , and having on (5671 ) the breastplate of righteousness ; * And your feet shod (5671 ) with the preparation of the gospel of peace ; * Above all , taking (5631 ) the shield of faith , wherewith ye shall be able (5695 ) to quench (5658 ) all the fiery (5772 ) darts of the wicked . * And take (5663 ) the helmet of salvation , and the sword of the Spirit , which is (5748 ) the word of God : * Praying (5740 ) always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit , and watching (5723 ) thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints ; * And for me , that utterance may be given (5684 ) unto me , that I may open my mouth boldly , to make known (5658 ) the mystery of the gospel , * For which I am an ambassador (5719 ) in bonds : that therein I may speak boldly (5667 ), as I ought (5748 ) to speak (5658 ). * But that ye also may know (5762 ) my affairs , and how I do (5719 ), Tychicus , a beloved brother and faithful minister in the Lord , shall make known (5692 ) to you all things : * Whom I have sent (5656 ) unto you for the same purpose , that ye might know (5632 ) our affairs , and that he might comfort (5661 ) your hearts . * Peace be to the brethren , and love with faith , from God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ . * Grace be with all them that love (5723 ) our Lord Jesus Christ in sincerity .
