* O foolish Galatians , who hath bewitched (5656 ) you , that ye should not obey (5745 ) the truth , before whose eyes Jesus Christ hath been evidently set forth (5648 ), crucified (5772 ) among you ? * This only would (5719 ) I learn (5629 ) of you , Received ye (5627 ) the Spirit by the works of the law , or by the hearing of faith ? * Are ye (5748 ) so foolish ? having begun (5666 ) in the Spirit , are ye now made perfect (5727 ) by the flesh ? * Have ye suffered (5627 ) so many things in vain ? if it be yet in vain . * He therefore that ministereth (5723 ) to you the Spirit , and worketh (5723 ) miracles among you , doeth he it by the works of the law , or by the hearing of faith ? * Even as Abraham believed (5656 ) God , and it was accounted (5681 ) to him for righteousness . * Know ye (5719 ) (5720 ) therefore that they which are of faith , the same are (5748 ) the children of Abraham . * And the scripture , foreseeing (5631 ) that God would justify (5719 ) the heathen through faith , preached before the gospel (5662 ) unto Abraham , saying , In thee shall all nations be blessed (5701 ). * So then they which be of faith are blessed (5743 ) with faithful Abraham . * For as many as are (5748 ) of the works of the law are (5748 ) under the curse : for it is written (5769 ), Cursed is every one that continueth (5719 ) not in all things which are written (5772 ) in the book of the law to do (5658 ) them . * But that no man is justified (5743 ) by the law in the sight of God , it is evident : for , The just shall live (5695 ) by faith . * And the law is (5748 ) not of faith : but , The man that doeth (5660 ) them shall live (5695 ) in them . * Christ hath redeemed (5656 ) us from the curse of the law , being made (5637 ) a curse for us : for it is written (5769 ), Cursed is every one that hangeth (5734 ) on a tree : * That the blessing of Abraham might come (5638 ) on the Gentiles through Jesus Christ ; that we might receive (5632 ) the promise of the Spirit through faith . * Brethren , I speak (5719 ) after the manner of men ; Though it be but a mans covenant , yet if it be confirmed (5772 ), no man disannulleth (5719 ), or addeth thereto (5736 ). * Now to Abraham and his seed were the promises made (5681 ). He saith (5719 ) not , And to seeds , as of many ; but as of one , And to thy seed , which is (5748 ) Christ . * And this I say (5719 ), that the covenant , that was confirmed before (5772 ) of God in Christ , the law , which was (5756 ) four hundred and thirty years after , cannot disannul (5719 ), that it should make the promise of none effect (5658 ). * For if the inheritance be of the law , it is no more of promise : but God gave (5766 ) it to Abraham by promise . * Wherefore then serveth the law ? It was added (5681 ) because of transgressions , till the seed should come (5632 ) to whom the promise was made (5766 ); and it was ordained (5651 ) by angels in the hand of a mediator . * Now a mediator is (5748 ) not a mediator of one , but God is (5748 ) one . * Is the law then against the promises of God ? God forbid (5636 ): for if there had been a law given (5681 ) which could (5740 ) have given life (5658 ), verily righteousness should have been (5713 ) by the law . * But the scripture hath concluded (5656 ) all under sin , that the promise by faith of Jesus Christ might be given (5686 ) to them that believe (5723 ). * But before faith came (5629 ), we were kept (5712 ) under the law , shut up (5772 ) unto the faith which should afterwards (5723 ) be revealed (5683 ). * Wherefore the law was (5754 ) our schoolmaster to bring us unto Christ , that we might be justified (5686 ) by faith . * But after that faith is come (5631 ), we are (5748 ) no longer under a schoolmaster . * For ye are (5748 ) all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus . * For as many of you as have been baptized (5681 ) into Christ have put on (5668 ) Christ . * There is (5748 ) neither Jew nor Greek , there is (5748 ) neither bond nor free , there is (5748 ) neither male nor female : for ye are (5748 ) all one in Christ Jesus . * And if ye be Christs , then are ye (5748 ) Abrahams seed , and heirs according to the promise .
