* And ye have forgotten (5769 ) the exhortation which speaketh (5736 ) unto you as unto children , My son , despise not thou (5720 ) the chastening of the Lord , nor faint (5744 ) when thou art rebuked (5746 ) of him : * For whom the Lord loveth (5719 ) he chasteneth (5719 ), and scourgeth (5719 ) every son whom he receiveth (5736 ). * If ye endure (5719 ) chastening , God dealeth (5743 ) with you as with sons ; for what son is he (5748 ) whom the father chasteneth (5719 ) not ? * But if ye be (5748 ) without chastisement , whereof all are (5754 ) partakers , then are ye (5748 ) bastards , and not sons . * Furthermore we have had (5707 ) fathers of our flesh which corrected us , and we gave them reverence (5710 ): shall we not much rather be in subjection (5691 ) unto the Father of spirits , and live (5692 )?
