* For it is impossible for those who were once enlightened (5685 ), and have tasted (5666 ) of the heavenly gift , and were made (5679 ) partakers of the Holy Ghost , * And have tasted (5666 ) the good word of God , and the powers of the world to come (5723 ), * If they shall fall away (5631 ), to renew them (5721 ) again unto repentance ; seeing they crucify to themselves the Son of God afresh (5723 ), and put him to an open shame (5723 ). * For the earth which drinketh in (5631 ) the rain that cometh (5740 ) oft upon it , and bringeth forth (5723 ) herbs meet for them by whom it is dressed (5743 ), receiveth (5719 ) blessing from God : * But that which beareth (5723 ) thorns and briers is rejected , and is nigh unto cursing ; whose end is to be burned .
