* Now of the things which we have spoken (5746 ) this is the sum : We have (5719 ) such an high priest , who is set (5656 ) on the right hand of the throne of the Majesty in the heavens ; * A minister of the sanctuary , and of the true tabernacle , which the Lord pitched (5656 ), and not man . * For every high priest is ordained (5743 ) to offer (5721 ) gifts and sacrifices : wherefore it is of necessity that this man have (5721 ) somewhat also to offer (5661 ). * For if he were (5713 ) on earth , he should not be (5713 ) a priest , seeing that there are (5752 ) priests that offer (5723 ) gifts according to the law : * Who serve (5719 ) unto the example and shadow of heavenly things , as Moses was admonished of God (5769 ) when he was about (5723 ) to make (5721 ) the tabernacle : for , See (5720 ), saith he (5748 ), that thou make (5661 ) all things according to the pattern shewed (5685 ) to thee in the mount . * But now hath he obtained (5758 ) a more excellent ministry , by how much also he is (5748 ) the mediator of a better covenant , which was established (5769 ) upon better promises . * For if that first covenant had been (5713 ) faultless , then should no place have been sought (5712 ) for the second . * For finding fault (5740 ) with them , he saith (5719 ), Behold (5628 ), the days come (5736 ), saith (5719 ) the Lord , when I will make (5692 ) a new covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah : * Not according to the covenant that I made with (5656 ) their fathers in the day when I took (5637 ) them by the hand to lead (5629 ) them out of the land of Egypt ; because they continued (5656 ) not in my covenant , and I regarded them not (5656 ), saith (5719 ) the Lord . * For this is the covenant that I will make (5695 ) with the house of Israel after those days , saith (5719 ) the Lord ; I will put (5723 ) my laws into their mind , and write (5692 ) them in their hearts : and I will be (5704 ) to them a God , and they shall be (5704 ) to me a people : * And they shall not teach (5661 ) every man his neighbour , and every man his brother , saying (5723 ), Know (5628 ) the Lord : for all shall know (5692 ) me , from the least to the greatest . * For I will be (5704 ) merciful to their unrighteousness , and their sins and their iniquities will I remember (5686 ) no more . * In that he saith (5721 ), A new covenant , he hath made the first old (5758 ). Now that which decayeth (5746 ) and waxeth old (5723 ) is ready to vanish away .
