* But be ye (5737 ) doers of the word , and not hearers only , deceiving (5740 ) your own selves . * For if any be (5748 ) a hearer of the word , and not a doer , he is like (5758 ) unto a man beholding (5723 ) his natural face in a glass : * For he beholdeth (5656 ) himself , and goeth his way (5754 ), and straightway forgetteth (5633 ) what manner of man he was (5713 ). * But whoso looketh (5660 ) into the perfect law of liberty , and continueth (5660 ) therein , he being (5637 ) not a forgetful hearer , but a doer of the work , this man shall be (5704 ) blessed in his deed . * If any man among you seem (5719 ) to be (5750 ) religious , and bridleth (5723 ) not his tongue , but deceiveth (5723 ) his own heart , this mans religion is vain . * Pure religion and undefiled before God and the Father is (5748 ) this , To visit (5738 ) the fatherless and widows in their affliction , and to keep (5721 ) himself unspotted from the world .
