* The Jews therefore , because it was (5713 ) (5625 ) (5713 ) the preparation , that the bodies should not remain (5661 ) upon the cross on the sabbath day , (for that sabbath day was (5713 ) an high day ,) besought (5656 ) Pilate that their legs might be broken (5652 ), and that they might be taken away (5686 ). * Then came (5627 ) the soldiers , and brake (5656 ) the legs of the first , and of the other which was crucified with (5685 ) him . * But when they came (5631 ) to Jesus , and saw (5627 ) that he was dead (5761 ) already , they brake (5656 ) not his legs : * But one of the soldiers with a spear pierced (5656 ) his side , and forthwith came there out (5627 ) blood and water . * And he that saw (5761 ) it bare record (5758 ), and his record is (5748 ) true : and he knoweth (5758 ) that he saith (5719 ) true , that ye might believe (5661 ).
