* And as Jesus passed by (5723 ), he saw (5627 ) a man which was blind from his birth . * And his disciples asked (5656 ) him , saying (5723 ), Master , who did sin (5627 ), this man , or his parents , that he was born (5686 ) blind ? * Jesus answered (5662 ), Neither hath this man sinned (5627 ), nor his parents : but that the works of God should e made manifest (5686 ) in him . * I must (5748 ) work (5738 ) the works of him that sent (5660 ) me , while it is (5748 ) day : the night cometh (5736 ), when no man can (5736 ) work (5738 ). * As long as I am (5753 ) in the world , I am (5748 ) the light of the world . * When he had thus spoken (5631 ), he spat (5656 ) on the ground , and made (5656 ) clay of the spittle , and he anointed (5656 ) the eyes of the blind man with the clay , * And said (5627 ) unto him , Go (5720 ), wash (5669 ) in the pool of Siloam , (which is by interpretation (5743 ), Sent (5772 ).) He went his way (5627 ) therefore , and washed (5668 ), and came (5627 ) seeing (5723 ). * The neighbours therefore , and they which before had seen (5723 ) him that he was (5713 ) blind , said (5707 ), Is (5748 ) not this he that sat (5740 ) and begged (5723 )? * Some said (5707 ), This is he (5748 ): others said , He is (5748 ) like him : but he said (5707 ), I am (5748 ) he . * Therefore said they (5707 ) unto him , How were thine eyes opened (5681 )? * He answered (5662 ) and said (5627 ), A man that is called (5746 ) Jesus made (5656 ) clay , and anointed (5656 ) mine eyes , and said (5627 ) unto me , Go (5720 ) to the pool of Siloam , and wash (5669 ): and I went (5631 ) and washed (5671 ), and I received sight (5656 ). * Then said they (5627 ) unto him , Where is (5748 ) he ? He said (5719 ), I know (5758 ) not . * They brought (5719 ) to the Pharisees him that aforetime was blind . * And it was (5713 ) the sabbath day when Jesus made (5656 ) the clay , and opened (5656 ) his eyes . * Then again the Pharisees also asked (5707 ) him how he had received his sight (5656 ). He said (5627 ) unto them , He put (5656 ) clay upon mine eyes , and I washed (5668 ), and do see (5719 ). * Therefore said (5707 ) some of the Pharisees , This man is (5748 ) not of God , because he keepeth (5719 ) not the sabbath day . Others said (5707 ), How can (5736 ) a man that is a sinner do (5721 ) such miracles ? And there was (5713 ) a division among them . * They say (5719 ) unto the blind man again , What sayest (5719 ) thou of him , that he hath opened (5656 ) thine eyes ? He said (5627 ), He is (5748 ) a prophet . * But the Jews did not believe (5656 ) concerning him , that he had been (5713 ) blind , and received his sight (5656 ), until they called (5656 ) the parents of him that had received his sight (5660 ). * And they asked (5656 ) them , saying (5723 ), Is (5748 ) this your son , who ye say (5719 ) was born (5681 ) blind ? how then doth he now see (5719 )? * His parents answered (5662 ) them and said (5627 ), We know (5758 ) that this is (5748 ) our son , and that he was born (5681 ) blind : * But by what means he now seeth (5719 ), we know (5758 ) not ; or who hath opened (5656 ) his eyes , we know (5758 ) not : he is (5719 ) of age ; ask (5657 ) him : he shall speak (5692 ) for himself . * These words spake (5627 ) his parents , because they feared (5711 ) the Jews : for the Jews had agreed (5717 ) already , that if any man did confess (5661 ) that he was Christ , he should be (5638 ) put out of the synagogue . * Therefore said (5627 ) his parents , He is (5719 ) of age ; ask (5657 ) him . * Then again called they (5656 ) the man that was (5713 ) blind , and said (5627 ) unto him , Give (5628 ) God the praise : we know (5758 ) that this man is (5748 ) a sinner . * He answered (5662 ) and said (5627 ), Whether he be (5748 ) a sinner or no , I know (5758 ) not : one thing I know (5758 ), that , whereas I was (5752 ) blind , now I see (5719 ). * Then said they (5627 ) to him again , What did he (5656 ) to thee ? how opened he (5656 ) thine eyes ? * He answered (5662 ) them , I have told (5627 ) you already , and ye did not hear (5656 ): wherefore would (5719 ) ye hear (5721 ) it again ? will (5719 ) ye also be (5635 ) his disciples ? * Then they reviled (5656 ) him , and said (5627 ), Thou art (5748 ) his disciple ; but we are (5748 ) Moses disciples . * We know (5758 ) that God spake (5758 ) unto Moses : as for this fellow , we know (5758 ) not from whence he is (5748 ). * The man answered (5662 ) and said (5627 ) unto them , Why herein is (5748 ) a marvellous thing , that ye know (5758 ) not from whence he is (5748 ), and yet he hath opened (5656 ) mine eyes . * Now we know (5758 ) that God heareth (5719 ) not sinners : but if any man be (5753 ) a worshipper of God , and doeth (5725 ) his will , him he heareth (5719 ). * Since the world began was it not heard (5681 ) that any man opened (5656 ) the eyes of one that was born (5772 ) blind . * If this man were (5713 ) not of God , he could (5711 ) do (5721 ) nothing . * They answered (5662 ) and said (5627 ) unto him , Thou wast altogether born (5681 ) in sins , and dost thou teach (5719 ) us ? And they cast (5627 ) him out . * Jesus heard (5656 ) that they had cast (5627 ) him out ; and when he had found (5631 ) him , he said (5627 ) unto him , Dost thou believe (5719 ) on the Son of God ? * He answered (5662 ) and said (5627 ), Who is he (5748 ), Lord , that I might believe (5661 ) on him ? * And Jesus said (5627 ) unto him , Thou hast both seen (5758 ) him , and it is (5748 ) he that talketh (5723 ) with thee . * And he said (5713 ), Lord , I believe (5719 ). And he worshipped (5656 ) him . * And Jesus said (5627 ), For judgment I am come (5627 ) into this world , that they which see (5723 ) not might see (5725 ); and that they which see (5723 ) might be made (5638 ) blind . * And some of the Pharisees which were (5752 ) with him heard (5656 ) these words , and said (5627 ) unto him , Are (5748 ) we blind also ? * Jesus said (5627 ) unto them , If ye were (5713 ) blind , ye should have (5707 ) no sin : but now ye say (5719 ), We see (5719 ); therefore your sin remaineth (5719 ).
