* After these things the Lord appointed (5656 ) other seventy also , and sent (5656 ) them two and two before his face into every city and place , whither (5625 ) he himself would (5707 ) come (5738 ). * Therefore said he (5707 ) unto them , The harvest truly is great , but the labourers are few : pray ye (5676 ) therefore the Lord of the harvest , that he would send forth (5725 ) labourers into his harvest . * Go your ways (5720 ): behold (5628 ), I send you forth (5719 ) as lambs among wolves . * Carry (5720 ) neither purse , nor scrip , nor shoes : and salute (5667 ) no man by the way . * And into whatsoever house ye enter (5741 ), first say (5720 ), Peace be to this house . * And if the son of peace be (5753 ) there , your peace shall rest (5695 ) upon it : if not , it shall turn to you again (5692 ). * And in the same house remain (5720 ), eating (5723 ) and drinking (5723 ) such things as they give : for the labourer is (5748 ) worthy of his hire . Go (5720 ) not from house to house . * And into whatsoever city ye enter (5741 ), and they receive (5741 ) you , eat such things (5720 ) as are set before (5746 ) you : * And heal (5720 ) the sick that are therein , and say (5720 ) unto them , The kingdom of God is come nigh (5758 ) unto you . * But into whatsoever city ye enter (5741 ), and they receive (5741 ) you not , go your ways out (5631 ) into the streets of the same , and say (5628 ), * Even the very dust of your city , which cleaveth (5685 ) on us , we do wipe off (5731 ) against you : notwithstanding be ye sure (5720 ) of this , that the kingdom of God is come nigh (5758 ) unto you . * But I say (5719 ) unto you , that it shall be (5704 ) more tolerable in that day for Sodom , than for that city . * Woe unto thee , Chorazin ! woe unto thee , Bethsaida ! for if the mighty works had been done (5633 ) in Tyre and Sidon , which have been done (5637 ) in you , they had a great while ago repented (5656 ), sitting (5740 ) in sackcloth and ashes . * But it shall be (5704 ) more tolerable for Tyre and Sidon at the judgment , than for you . * And thou , Capernaum , which art exalted (5685 ) to heaven , shalt be thrust down (5701 ) to hell . * He that heareth (5723 ) you heareth (5719 ) me ; and he that despiseth (5723 ) you despiseth (5719 ) me ; and he that despiseth (5723 ) me despiseth (5719 ) him that sent (5660 ) me . * And the seventy returned again (5656 ) with joy , saying (5723 ), Lord , even the devils are subject (5743 ) unto us through thy name . * And he said (5627 ) unto them , I beheld (5707 ) Satan as lightning fall (5631 ) from heaven . * Behold (5628 ), I give (5719 ) unto you power to tread (5721 ) on serpents and scorpions , and over all the power of the enemy : and nothing shall by any means hurt (5661 ) (5625 ) (5692 ) you . * Notwithstanding in this rejoice (5720 ) not , that the spirits are subject (5743 ) unto you ; but rather rejoice (5720 ), because your names are written (5648 ) in heaven . * In that hour Jesus rejoiced in (5662 ) spirit , and said (5627 ), I thank (5731 ) thee , O Father , Lord of heaven and earth , that thou hast hid (5656 ) these things from the wise and prudent , and hast revealed (5656 ) them unto babes : even so , Father ; for so it seemed (5633 ) good in thy sight . * All things are delivered (5681 ) to me of my Father : and no man knoweth (5719 ) who the Son is (5748 ), but the Father ; and who the Father is (5748 ), but the Son , and he to whom the Son will (5741 ) reveal (5658 ) him . * And he turned him (5651 ) unto his disciples , and said (5627 ) privately , Blessed are the eyes which see (5723 ) the things that ye see (5719 ): * For I tell (5719 ) you , that many prophets and kings have desired (5656 ) to see (5629 ) those things which ye see (5719 ), and have not seen (5627 ) them ; and to hear (5658 ) those things which ye hear (5719 ), and have not heard (5656 ) them . * And , behold (5628 ), a certain lawyer stood up (5627 ), and tempted (5723 ) him , saying (5723 ), Master , what shall I do (5660 ) to inherit (5692 ) eternal life ? * He said (5627 ) unto him , What is written (5769 ) in the law ? how readest thou (5719 )? * And he answering (5679 ) said (5627 ), Thou shalt love (5692 ) the Lord thy God with all thy heart , and with all thy soul , and with all thy strength , and with all thy mind ; and thy neighbour as thyself . * And he said (5627 ) unto him , Thou hast answered (5662 ) right : this do (5720 ), and thou shalt live (5692 ). * But he , willing (5723 ) to justify (5721 ) himself , said (5627 ) unto Jesus , And who is (5748 ) my neighbour ? * And Jesus answering (5631 ) said (5627 ), A certain man went down (5707 ) from Jerusalem to Jericho , and fell among (5627 ) thieves , which stripped him of his raiment (5660 ), and wounded (5631 ) him , and departed (5627 ), leaving (5631 ) him half dead (5723 ). * And by chance there came down (5707 ) a certain priest that way : and when he saw (5631 ) him , he passed by on the other side (5627 ). * And likewise a Levite , when he was (5637 ) at the place , came (5631 ) and looked (5631 ) on him , and passed by on the other side (5627 ). * But a certain Samaritan , as he journeyed (5723 ), came (5627 ) where he was : and when he saw (5631 ) him , he had compassion (5675 ) on him , * And went (5631 ) to him , and bound up (5656 ) his wounds , pouring in (5723 ) oil and wine , and set (5660 ) him on his own beast , and brought (5627 ) him to an inn , and took care (5675 ) of him . * And on the morrow when he departed (5631 ), he took out (5631 ) two pence , and gave (5656 ) them to the host , and said (5627 ) unto him , Take care (5682 ) of him ; and whatsoever thou spendest more (5661 ), when I come again (5738 ), I will repay (5692 ) thee . * Which now of these three , thinkest (5719 ) thou , was (5755 ) neighbour unto him that fell (5631 ) among the thieves ? * And he said (5627 ), He that shewed (5660 ) mercy on him . Then said (5627 ) Jesus unto him , Go (5737 ), and do (5720 ) thou likewise . * Now it came to pass (5633 ), as they went (5738 ), that he entered (5627 ) into a certain village : and a certain woman named Martha received (5662 ) him into her house . * And she had (5713 ) a sister called (5746 ) Mary , which also sat (5660 ) at Jesus feet , and heard (5707 ) his word . * But Martha was cumbered (5712 ) about much serving , and came to him (5631 ), and said (5627 ), Lord , dost thou not care (5719 ) that my sister hath left (5627 ) me to serve (5721 ) alone ? bid (5628 ) her therefore that she help (5638 ) me . * And Jesus answered (5679 ) and said (5627 ) unto her , Martha , Martha , thou art careful (5719 ) and troubled (5743 ) about many things : * But one thing is (5748 ) needful : and Mary hath chosen (5668 ) that good part , which shall not be taken away (5701 ) from her .
