* There were present (5713 ) at that season some that told (5723 ) him of the Galilaeans , whose blood Pilate had mingled (5656 ) with their sacrifices . * And Jesus answering (5679 ) said (5627 ) unto them , Suppose ye (5719 ) that these Galilaeans were (5633 ) sinners above all the Galilaeans , because they suffered (5754 ) such things ? * I tell (5719 ) you , Nay : but , except ye repent (5725 ), ye shall all likewise perish (5698 ). * Or those eighteen , upon whom the tower in Siloam fell (5627 ), and slew (5656 ) them , think ye (5719 ) that they were (5633 ) sinners above all men that dwelt (5723 ) in Jerusalem ? * I tell (5719 ) you , Nay : but , except ye repent (5725 ), ye shall all likewise perish (5698 ). * He spake (5707 ) also this parable ; A certain man had (5707 ) a fig tree planted (5772 ) in his vineyard ; and he came (5627 ) and sought (5723 ) fruit thereon , and found (5627 ) none . * Then said he (5627 ) unto the dresser of his vineyard , Behold (5628 ), these three years I come (5736 ) seeking (5723 ) fruit on this fig tree , and find (5719 ) none : cut it down (5657 ); why cumbereth (5719 ) it the ground ? * And he answering (5679 ) said (5719 ) unto him , Lord , let it alone (5628 ) this year also , till I shall dig (5661 ) about it , and dung (5632 ) it : * And if it bear (5661 ) fruit , well : and if not , then after that (5723 ) thou shalt cut it down (5692 ). * And he was (5713 ) teaching (5723 ) in one of the synagogues on the sabbath . * And , behold (5628 ), there was (5713 ) a woman which had (5723 ) a spirit of infirmity eighteen years , and was (5713 ) bowed together (5723 ), and could (5740 ) in no wise lift up (5658 ) herself . * And when Jesus saw (5631 ) her , he called (5656 ) her to him , and said (5627 ) unto her , Woman , thou art loosed (5769 ) from thine infirmity . * And he laid his hands on (5656 ) her : and immediately she was made straight (5681 ), and glorified (5707 ) God . * And the ruler of the synagogue answered (5679 ) with indignation (5723 ), because that Jesus had healed (5656 ) on the sabbath day , and said (5707 ) unto the people , There are (5748 ) six days in which men ought (5748 ) to work (5738 ): in them therefore come (5740 ) and be healed (5744 ), and not on the sabbath day . * The Lord then answered (5662 ) him , and said (5627 ), Thou hypocrite , doth not each one of you on the sabbath loose (5719 ) his ox or his ass from the stall , and lead him away (5631 ) to watering (5719 )? * And ought (5713 ) not this woman , being (5752 ) a daughter of Abraham , whom Satan hath bound (5656 ), lo (5628 ), these eighteen years , be loosed (5683 ) from this bond on the sabbath day ? * And when he had said (5723 ) these things , all his adversaries (5740 ) were ashamed (5712 ): and all the people rejoiced (5707 ) for all the glorious things that were done (5740 ) by him . * Then said he (5707 ), Unto what is (5748 ) the kingdom of God like ? and whereunto shall I resemble (5692 ) it ? * It is (5748 ) like a grain of mustard seed , which a man took (5631 ), and cast (5627 ) into his garden ; and it grew (5656 ), and waxed (5633 ) a great tree ; and the fowls of the air lodged (5656 ) in the branches of it . * And again he said (5627 ), Whereunto shall I liken (5692 ) the kingdom of God ? * It is (5748 ) like leaven , which a woman took (5631 ) and hid (5656 ) in three measures of meal , till the whole was leavened (5681 ). * And he went (5711 ) through the cities and villages , teaching (5723 ), and journeying (5734 ) toward Jerusalem . * Then said (5627 ) one unto him , Lord , are there few that be saved (5746 )? And he said (5627 ) unto them , * Strive (5737 ) to enter in (5629 ) at the strait gate : for many , I say (5719 ) unto you , will seek (5692 ) to enter in (5629 ), and shall not be able (5692 ). * When once the master of the house is risen up (5686 ), and hath shut (5661 ) to the door , and ye begin (5672 ) to stand (5760 ) without , and to knock (5721 ) at the door , saying (5723 ), Lord , Lord , open (5657 ) unto us ; and he shall answer (5679 ) and say (5692 ) unto you , I know (5758 ) you not whence ye are (5748 ): * Then shall ye begin (5698 ) to say (5721 ), We have eaten (5627 ) and drunk (5627 ) in thy presence , and thou hast taught (5656 ) in our streets . * But he shall say (5692 ), I tell (5719 ) you , I know (5758 ) you not whence ye are (5748 ); depart (5628 ) from me , all ye workers of iniquity . * There shall be (5704 ) weeping and gnashing of teeth , when ye shall see (5667 ) Abraham , and Isaac , and Jacob , and all the prophets , in the kingdom of God , and you yourselves thrust (5746 ) out . * And they shall come (5692 ) from the east , and from the west , and from the north , and from the south , and shall sit down (5701 ) in the kingdom of God . * And , behold (5628 ), there are (5748 ) last which shall be (5704 ) first , and there are (5748 ) first which shall be (5704 ) last . * The same day there came (5656 ) certain of the Pharisees , saying (5723 ) unto him , Get thee out (5628 ), and depart (5737 ) hence : for Herod will (5719 ) kill (5658 ) thee . * And he said (5627 ) unto them , Go ye (5679 ), and tell (5628 ) that fox , Behold (5628 ), I cast out (5719 ) devils , and I do (5719 ) cures to day and to morrow , and the third day I shall be perfected (5743 ). * Nevertheless I must (5748 ) walk (5738 ) to day , and to morrow , and the day following (5746 ): for it cannot be (5736 ) that a prophet perish (5641 ) out of Jerusalem . * O Jerusalem , Jerusalem , which killest (5723 ) the prophets , and stonest (5723 ) them that are sent (5772 ) unto thee ; how often would (5656 ) I have gathered thy children together (5658 ), as a hen doth gather her brood under her wings , and ye would (5656 ) not ! * Behold (5628 ), your house is left (5743 ) unto you desolate : and verily I say (5719 ) unto you , Ye shall not see (5632 ) me , until the time come (5661 ) when ye shall say (5632 ), Blessed (5772 ) is he that cometh (5740 ) in the name of the Lord .
