* There was (5713 ) a certain rich man , which was clothed (5710 ) in purple and fine linen , and fared (5746 ) sumptuously every day : * And there was (5713 ) a certain beggar named Lazarus , which was laid (5718 ) at his gate , full of sores (5772 ), * And desiring (5723 ) to be fed (5683 ) with the crumbs which fell (5723 ) from the rich mans table : moreover the dogs came (5740 ) and licked (5707 ) his sores . * And it came to pass (5633 ), that the beggar died (5629 ), and was carried (5683 ) by the angels into Abrahams bosom : the rich man also died (5627 ), and was buried (5648 ); * And in hell he lift up (5660 ) his eyes , being (5723 ) in torments , and seeth (5719 ) Abraham afar off , and Lazarus in his bosom .
