* And it came to pass (5633 ) afterward , that he went (5707 ) throughout every city and village , preaching (5723 ) and shewing the glad tidings (5734 ) of the kingdom of God : and the twelve were with him , * And certain women , which had been (5713 ) healed (5772 ) of evil spirits and infirmities , Mary called (5746 ) Magdalene , out of whom went (5715 ) seven devils , * And Joanna the wife of Chuza Herods steward , and Susanna , and many others , which ministered (5707 ) unto him of their substance (5723 ). * And when much people were gathered together (5752 ), and were come (5740 ) to him out of every city , he spake (5627 ) by a parable : * A sower (5723 ) went out (5627 ) to sow (5658 ) his seed : and as he sowed (5721 ), some fell (5627 ) by the way side ; and it was trodden down (5681 ), and the fowls of the air devoured (5627 ) it . * And some fell (5627 ) upon a rock ; and as soon as it was sprung up (5651 ), it withered away (5681 ), because it lacked (5721 ) moisture . * And some fell (5627 ) among thorns ; and the thorns sprang up with it (5651 ), and choked (5656 ) (5625 ) (5656 ) it . * And other fell (5627 ) on good ground , and sprang up (5651 ), and bare (5656 ) fruit an hundredfold . And when he had said (5723 ) these things , he cried (5707 ), He that hath (5723 ) ears to hear (5721 ), let him hear (5720 ). * And his disciples asked (5707 ) him , saying (5723 ), What might this parable be (5751 )? * And he said (5627 ), Unto you it is given (5769 ) to know (5629 ) the mysteries of the kingdom of God : but to others in parables ; that seeing (5723 ) they might not see (5725 ), and hearing (5723 ) they might not understand (5725 ). * Now the parable is (5748 ) this : The seed is (5748 ) the word of God . * Those by the way side are (5748 ) they that hear (5723 ); then cometh (5736 ) the devil , and taketh away (5719 ) the word out of their hearts , lest they should believe (5660 ) and be saved (5686 ). * They on the rock are they , which , when they hear (5661 ), receive (5736 ) the word with joy ; and these have (5719 ) no root , which for a while believe (5719 ), and in time of temptation fall away (5736 ). * And that which fell (5631 ) among thorns are (5748 ) they , which , when they have heard (5660 ), go forth (5740 ), and are choked (5743 ) with cares and riches and pleasures of this life , and bring no fruit to perfection (5719 ). * But that on the good ground are (5748 ) they , which in an honest and good heart , having heard (5660 ) the word , keep (5719 ) it , and bring forth fruit (5719 ) with patience . * No man , when he hath lighted (5660 ) a candle , covereth (5719 ) it with a vessel , or putteth (5719 ) it under a bed ; but setteth (5719 ) it on a candlestick , that they which enter in (5740 ) may see (5725 ) the light . * For nothing is (574 ) secret , that shall not be made (5695 ) manifest ; neither any thing hid , that shall not be known (5701 ) and come (5632 ) abroad . * Take heed (5720 ) therefore how ye hear (5719 ): for whosoever hath (5725 ), to him shall be given (5701 ); and whosoever hath (5725 ) not , from him shall be taken (5701 ) even that which he seemeth (5719 ) to have (5721 ). * Then came (5633 ) to him his mother and his brethren , and could (5711 ) not come (5629 ) at him for the press . * And it was told (5648 ) him by certain which said (5723 ), Thy mother and thy brethren stand (5758 ) without , desiring (5723 ) to see (5629 ) thee . * And he answered (5679 ) and said (5627 ) unto them , My mother and my brethren are (5748 ) these which hear (5723 ) the word of God , and do (5723 ) it . * Now it came to pass (5633 ) on a certain day , that he went (5627 ) into a ship with his disciples : and he said (5627 ) unto them , Let us go over (5632 ) unto the other side of the lake . And they launched forth (5681 ). * But as they sailed (5723 ) he fell asleep (5656 ): and there came down (5627 ) a storm of wind on the lake ; and they were filled (5712 ) with water , and were in jeopardy (5707 ). * And they came to him (5631 ), and awoke (5656 ) him , saying (5723 ), Master , master , we perish (5731 ). Then he arose (5685 ), and rebuked (5656 ) the wind and the raging of the water : and they ceased (5668 ), and there was (5633 ) a calm . * And he said (5627 ) unto them , Where is (5748 ) your faith ? And they being afraid (5679 ) wondered (5656 ), saying (5723 ) one to another , What manner of man is (5748 ) this ! for he commandeth (5719 ) even the winds and water , and they obey (5719 ) him . * And they arrived (5656 ) at the country of the Gadarenes , which is (5748 ) over against Galilee . * And when he went forth (5631 ) to land , there met (5656 ) him out of the city a certain man , which had (5707 ) devils long time , and ware (5710 ) no clothes , neither abode (5707 ) in any house , but in the tombs . * When he saw (5631 ) Jesus , he cried out (5660 ), and fell down before (5627 ) him , and with a loud voice said (5627 ), What have I to do with thee , Jesus , thou Son of God most high ? I beseech (5736 ) thee , torment (5661 ) me not . * (For he had commanded (5707 ) (5625 ) (5656 ) the unclean spirit to come (5629 ) out of the man . For oftentimes it had caught (5715 ) him : and he was kept (5746 ) bound (5712 ) with chains and in fetters ; and he brake (5723 ) the bands , and was driven (5712 ) of the devil into the wilderness .) * And Jesus asked (5656 ) him , saying (5723 ), What is (5748 ) thy name ? And he said (5627 ), Legion : because many devils were entered (5627 ) into him . * And they besought (5707 ) (5625 ) (5707 ) him that he would not command (5661 ) them to go out (5629 ) into the deep . * And there was (5713 ) there an herd of many swine feeding (5746 ) on the mountain : and they besought (5707 ) him that he would suffer (5661 ) them to enter (5629 ) into them . And he suffered (5656 ) them . * Then went (5631 ) the devils out of the man , and entered (5627 ) into the swine : and the herd ran (5656 ) violently down a steep place into the lake , and were choked (5648 ). * When they that fed (5723 ) them saw (5631 ) what was done (5772 ), they fled (5627 ), and went (5631 ) and told (5656 ) it in the city and in the country . * Then they went out (5627 ) to see (5629 ) what was done (5756 ); and came (5627 ) to Jesus , and found (5627 ) the man , out of whom the devils were departed (5715 ), sitting (5740 ) at the feet of Jesus , clothed (5772 ), and in his right mind (5723 ): and they were afraid (5675 ). * They also which saw (5631 ) it told (5656 ) them by what means he that was possessed of the devils (5679 ) was healed (5681 ). * Then the whole multitude of the country of the Gadarenes round about besought (5656 ) him to depart (5629 ) from them ; for they were taken (5712 ) with great fear : and he went up (5631 ) into the ship , and returned back again (5656 ). * Now the man out of whom the devils were departed (5715 ) besought (5711 ) him that he might be (5750 ) with him : but Jesus sent him away (5656 ), saying (5723 ), * Return (5720 ) to thine own house , and shew (5737 ) how great things God hath done (5656 ) unto thee . And he went his way (5627 ), and published (5723 ) throughout the whole city how great things Jesus had done (5656 ) unto him . * And it came to pass (5633 ), that , when Jesus was returned (5658 ), the people gladly received (5662 ) him : for they were (5713 ) all waiting for (5723 ) him . * And , behold (5628 ), there came (5627 ) a man named Jairus , and he was (5707 ) a ruler of the synagogue : and he fell down (5631 ) at Jesus feet , and besought (5707 ) him that he would come (5629 ) into his house : * For he had (5713 ) one only daughter , about twelve years of age , and she (5625 ) lay a dying (5707 ). But as he went (5721 ) the people thronged (5707 ) him . * And a woman having (5752 ) an issue of blood twelve years , which had spent (5660 ) all her living upon physicians , neither could (5656 ) be healed (5683 ) of any , * Came (5631 ) behind him , and touched (5662 ) the border of his garment : and immediately her issue of blood stanched (5627 ). * And Jesus said (5627 ), Who touched (5671 ) me ? When all denied (5740 ), Peter and they that were with him said (5627 ), Master , the multitude throng (5719 ) thee and press (5719 ) thee , and sayest (5719 ) thou , Who touched (5671 ) me ? * And Jesus said (5627 ), Somebody hath touched (5662 ) me : for I perceive (5627 ) that virtue is gone (5631 ) out of me . * And when the woman saw (5631 ) that she was not hid (5627 ), she came (5627 ) trembling (5723 ), and falling down before (5631 ) him , she declared (5656 ) unto him before all the people for what cause she had touched (5662 ) him , and how she was healed (5681 ) immediately . * And he said (5627 ) unto her , Daughter , be of good comfort (5720 ): thy faith hath made thee whole (5758 ); go (5737 ) in peace . * While he yet spake (5723 ), there cometh (5736 ) one from the ruler of the synagogues house , saying (5723 ) to him , Thy daughter is dead (5758 ); trouble (5720 ) not the Master . * But when Jesus heard (5660 ) it , he answered (5662 ) him , saying (5723 ), Fear (5737 ) not : believe (5720 ) only , and she shall be made whole (5701 ). * And when he came (5631 ) into the house , he suffered (5656 ) no man to go in (5629 ), save Peter , and James , and John , and the father and the mother of the maiden . * And all wept (5707 ), and bewailed (5710 ) her : but he said (5627 ), Weep (5720 ) not ; she is not dead (5627 ), but sleepeth (5719 ). * And they laughed him to scorn (5707 ), knowing (5761 ) that she was dead (5627 ). * And he put (5631 ) them all out , and took (5660 ) her by the hand , and called (5656 ), saying (5723 ), Maid , arise (5728 ). * And her spirit came again (5656 ), and she arose (5627 ) straightway : and he commanded (5656 ) to give (5683 ) her meat (5629 ). * And her parents were astonished (5627 ): but he charged (5656 ) them that they should tell (5629 ) no man what was done (5756 ).
