* And when they came nigh (5719 ) to Jerusalem , unto Bethphage and Bethany , at the mount of Olives , he sendeth forth (5719 ) two of his disciples , * And saith (5719 ) unto them , Go your way (5720 ) into the village over against you : and as soon as ye be entered (5740 ) into it , ye shall find (5692 ) a colt tied (5772 ), whereon never man sat (5758 ); loose (5660 ) him , and bring (5628 ) him . * And if any man say (5632 ) unto you , Why do ye (5719 ) this ? say ye (5628 ) that the Lord hath (5719 ) need of him ; and straightway he will send (5692 ) him hither . * And they went their way (5627 ), and found (5627 ) the colt tied (5772 ) by the door without in a place where two ways met ; and they loose (5719 ) him . * And certain of them that stood (5761 ) there said (5707 ) unto them , What do ye (5719 ), loosing (5723 ) the colt ? * And they said (5627 ) unto them even as Jesus had commanded (5662 ): and they let them go (5656 ). * And they brought (5627 ) the colt to Jesus , and cast their garments on (5627 ) him ; and he sat (5656 ) upon him . * And many spread (5656 ) their garments in the way : and others cut down (5707 ) branches off the trees , and strawed (5707 ) them in the way . * And they that went before (5723 ), and they that followed (5723 ), cried (5707 ), saying (5723 ), Hosanna ; Blessed (5772 ) is he that cometh (5740 ) in the name of the Lord : * Blessed (5772 ) be the kingdom of our father David , that cometh (5740 ) in the name of the Lord : Hosanna in the highest . * And Jesus entered (5627 ) into Jerusalem , and into the temple : and when he had looked round about upon (5671 ) all things , and now the eventide was come (5752 ), he went out (5627 ) unto Bethany with the twelve . * And on the morrow , when they were come (5631 ) from Bethany , he was hungry (5656 ): * And seeing (5631 ) a fig tree afar off having (5723 ) leaves , he came (5627 ), if haply he might find (5692 ) any thing thereon : and when he came (5631 ) to it , he found (5627 ) nothing but leaves ; for the time of figs was (5713 ) not yet . * And Jesus answered (5679 ) and said (5627 ) unto it , No man eat (5630 ) fruit of thee hereafter for ever . And his disciples heard (5707 ) it . * And they come (5736 ) to Jerusalem : and Jesus went (5631 ) into the temple , and began (5662 ) to cast out (5721 ) them that sold (5723 ) and bought (5723 ) in the temple , and overthrew (5656 ) the tables of the moneychangers , and the seats of them that sold (5723 ) doves ; * And would not suffer (5707 ) that any man should carry (5632 ) any vessel through the temple . * And he taught (5707 ), saying (5723 ) unto them , Is it not written (5769 ), My house shall be called (5701 ) of all nations the house of prayer ? but ye have made (5656 ) it a den of thieves . * And the scribes and chief priests heard (5656 ) it , and sought (5707 ) how they might destroy (5692 ) him : for they feared (5711 ) him , because all the people was astonished (5712 ) at his doctrine . * And when even was come (5633 ), he went (5711 ) out of the city . * And in the morning , as they passed by (5740 ), they saw (5627 ) the fig tree dried up (5772 ) from the roots . * And Peter calling to remembrance (5679 ) saith (5719 ) unto him , Master , behold , the fig tree which thou cursedst (5662 ) is withered away (5769 ). * And Jesus answering (5679 ) saith (5719 ) unto them , Have (5720 ) faith in God . * For verily I say (5719 ) unto you , That whosoever shall say (5632 ) unto this mountain , Be thou removed (5682 ), and be thou cast (5682 ) into the sea ; and shall not doubt (5686 ) in his heart , but shall believe (5661 ) that those things which he saith (5719 ) shall come to pass (5736 ); he shall have (5704 ) whatsoever he saith (5632 ). * Therefore I say (5719 ) unto you , What things soever ye desire (5731 ), when ye pray (5740 ), believe (5720 ) that ye receive (5719 ) them , and ye shall have (5704 ) them . * And when ye stand (5725 ) praying (5740 ), forgive (5720 ), if ye have (5719 ) ought against any : that your Father also which is in heaven may forgive (5632 ) you your trespasses . * But if ye do not forgive (5719 ), neither will your Father which is in heaven forgive (5692 ) your trespasses . * And they come (5736 ) again to Jerusalem : and as he was walking (5723 ) in the temple , there come (5736 ) to him the chief priests , and the scribes , and the elders , * And say (5719 ) unto him , By what authority doest thou (5719 ) these things ? and who gave (5656 ) thee this authority to do (5725 ) these things ? * And Jesus answered (5679 ) and said (5627 ) unto them , I will also ask (5692 ) of you one question , and answer (5676 ) me , and I will tell (5692 ) you by what authority I do (5719 ) these things . * The baptism of John , was (5713 ) it from heaven , or of men ? answer (5676 ) me . * And they reasoned (5711 ) with themselves , saying (5723 ), If we shall say (5632 ), From heaven ; he will say (5692 ), Why then did ye not believe (5656 ) him ? * But if we shall say (5632 ), Of men ; they feared (5711 ) the people : for all men counted (5707 ) John , that he was (5713 ) a prophet indeed . * And they answered (5679 ) and said (5719 ) unto Jesus , We cannot tell (5758 ). And Jesus answering (5679 ) saith (5719 ) unto them , Neither do I tell (5719 ) you by what authority I do (5719 ) these things .
