* And as he went (5740 ) out of the temple , one of his disciples saith (5719 ) unto him , Master , see what manner of stones and what buildings are here ! * And Jesus answering (5679 ) said (5627 ) unto him , Seest thou (5719 ) these great buildings ? there shall not be left (5686 ) one stone upon another , that shall not be thrown down (5686 ). * And as he sat (5740 ) upon the mount of Olives over against the temple , Peter and James and John and Andrew asked (5707 ) him privately , * Tell (5628 ) us , when shall these things be (5704 )? and what shall be the sign when all these things shall (5725 ) be fulfilled (5745 )? * And Jesus answering (5679 ) them began (5662 ) to say (5721 ), Take heed (5720 ) lest any man deceive (5661 ) you : * For many shall come (5695 ) in my name , saying (5723 ), I am (5748 ) Christ ; and shall deceive (5692 ) many . * And when ye shall hear (5661 ) of wars and rumours of wars , be ye not troubled (5744 ): for such things must (5748 ) needs be (5635 ); but the end shall not be yet . * For nation shall rise (5701 ) against nation , and kingdom against kingdom : and there shall be (5704 ) earthquakes in divers places , and there shall be (5704 ) famines and troubles : these are the beginnings of sorrows . * But take heed (5720 ) to yourselves : for they shall deliver you up (5692 ) to councils ; and in the synagogues ye shall be beaten (5691 ): and ye shall be brought (5701 ) (5625 ) (5701 ) before rulers and kings for my sake , for a testimony against them . * And the gospel must (5748 ) first be published (5683 ) among all nations . * But when they shall lead (5632 ) you , and deliver you up (5723 ), take no thought beforehand (5720 ) what ye shall speak (5661 ), neither do ye premeditate (5720 ): but whatsoever shall be given (5686 ) you in that hour , that speak (5720 ) ye : for it is (5748 ) not ye that speak (5723 ), but the Holy Ghost . * Now the brother shall betray (5692 ) the brother to death , and the father the son ; and children shall rise up (5695 ) against their parents , and shall cause them to be put to death (5692 ). * And ye shall be (5704 ) hated (5746 ) of all men for my names sake : but he that shall endure (5660 ) unto the end , the same shall be saved (5701 ). * But when ye shall see (5632 ) the abomination of desolation , spoken (5685 ) of by Daniel the prophet , standing (5756 ) (5625 ) (5761 ) where it ought (5748 ) not , (let him that readeth (5723 ) understand (5720 ),) then let them that be in Judaea flee (5720 ) to the mountains : * And let him that is on the housetop not go down (5628 ) into the house , neither enter (5628 ) therein , to take (5658 ) any thing out of his house : * And let him that is (5752 ) in the field not turn back again (5657 ) for to take up (5658 ) his garment . * But woe to them that are (5723 ) with child , and to them that give suck (5723 ) in those days ! * And pray ye (5737 ) that your flight be (5638 ) not in the winter . * For in those days shall be (5704 ) affliction , such as was (5754 ) not from the beginning of the creation which God created (5656 ) unto this time , neither shall be (5638 ). * And except that the Lord had shortened (5656 ) those days , no flesh should be saved (5681 ): but for the elects sake , whom he hath chosen (5668 ), he hath shortened (5656 ) the days . * And then if any man shall say (5632 ) to you , Lo (5628 ), here is Christ ; or , lo (5628 ), he is there ; believe (5661 ) him not : * For false Christs and false prophets shall rise (5701 ), and shall shew (5692 ) signs and wonders , to seduce (5721 ), if it were possible , even the elect . * But take ye heed (5720 ): behold (5628 ), I have foretold (5758 ) you all things . * But in those days , after that tribulation , the sun shall be darkened (5701 ), and the moon shall not give (5692 ) her light , * And the stars of heaven shall (5704 ) fall (5723 ), and the powers that are in heaven shall be shaken (5701 ). * And then shall they see (5695 ) the Son of man coming (5740 ) in the clouds with great power and glory . * And then shall he send (5692 ) his angels , and shall gather together (5692 ) his elect from the four winds , from the uttermost part of the earth to the uttermost part of heaven . * Now learn (5628 ) a parable of the fig tree ; When her branch is (5638 ) yet tender , and putteth forth (5725 ) leaves , ye know (5719 ) that summer is (5748 ) near : * So ye in like manner , when ye shall see (5632 ) these things come to pass (5740 ), know (5720 ) that it is (5748 ) nigh , even at the doors . * Verily I say (5719 ) unto you , that this generation shall not pass (5632 ), till all these things be done (5638 ). * Heaven and earth shall pass away (5695 ): but my words shall not pass away (5632 ). * But of that day and that hour knoweth (5758 ) no man , no , not the angels which are in heaven , neither the Son , but the Father . * Take ye heed (5720 ), watch (5720 ) and pray (5737 ): for ye know (5758 ) not when the time is (5748 ). * For the Son of man is as a man taking a far journey , who left (5631 ) his house , and gave (5631 ) authority to his servants , and to every man his work , and commanded (5662 ) the porter to watch (5725 ). * Watch ye (5720 ) therefore : for ye know (5758 ) not when the master of the house cometh (5736 ), at even , or at midnight , or at the cockcrowing , or in the morning : * Lest coming (5631 ) suddenly he find (5632 ) you sleeping (5723 ). * And what I say (5719 ) unto you I say (5719 ) unto all , Watch (5720 ).
