* And now when the even was come (5637 ), because it was (5713 ) the preparation , that is (5748 ), the day before the sabbath , * Joseph of Arimathaea , an honourable counsellor , which also waited (5740 ) for (5713 ) the kingdom of God , came (5627 ), and went in (5627 ) boldly (5660 ) unto Pilate , and craved (5668 ) the body of Jesus . * And Pilate marvelled (5656 ) if he were already dead (5758 ): and calling (5666 ) unto him the centurion , he asked (5656 ) him whether he had been any while dead (5627 ). * And when he knew (5631 ) it of the centurion , he gave (5662 ) the body to Joseph . * And he bought (5660 ) fine linen , and took him down (5631 ), and wrapped (5656 ) him in the linen , and laid (5656 ) him in a sepulchre which was (5713 ) hewn (5772 ) out of a rock , and rolled (5656 ) a stone unto the door of the sepulchre . * And Mary Magdalene and Mary the mother of Joses beheld (5707 ) where he was laid (5743 ).
