* And they came over (5627 ) unto the other side of the sea , into the country of the Gadarenes . * And when he was come (5631 ) out of the ship , immediately there met (5656 ) him out of the tombs a man with an unclean spirit , * Who had (5707 ) his dwelling among the tombs ; and no man could (5711 ) bind (5658 ) him , no , not with chains : * Because that he had been often bound (5771 ) with fetters and chains , and the chains had been plucked asunder (5771 ) by him , and the fetters broken in pieces (5771 ): neither could (5707 ) any man tame (5658 ) him . * And always , night and day , he was (5713 ) in the mountains , and in the tombs , crying (5723 ), and cutting (5723 ) himself with stones . * But when he saw (5631 ) Jesus afar off , he ran (5627 ) and worshipped (5656 ) him , * And cried (5660 ) with a loud voice , and said (5627 ), What have I to do with thee , Jesus , thou Son of the most high God ? I adjure (5719 ) thee by God , that thou torment (5661 ) me not . * For he said (5707 ) unto him , Come (5628 ) out of the man , thou unclean spirit . * And he asked (5707 ) him , What is thy name ? And he answered (5662 ), saying (5723 ), My name is Legion : for we are (5748 ) many . * And he besought (5707 ) him much that he would not send them away (5661 ) out of the country . * Now there was (5713 ) there nigh unto the mountains a great herd of swine feeding (5746 ). * And all the devils besought (5656 ) him , saying (5723 ), Send (5657 ) us into the swine , that we may enter (5632 ) into them . * And forthwith Jesus gave them leave (5656 ). And the unclean spirits went out (5631 ), and entered (5627 ) into the swine : and the herd ran (5656 ) violently down a steep place into the sea , (they were (5713 ) about two thousand ;) and were choked (5712 ) in the sea . * And they that fed (5723 ) the swine fled (5627 ), and told (5656 ) it in the city , and in the country . And they went out (5627 ) to see (5629 ) what it was (5748 ) that was done (5756 ). * And they come (5736 ) to Jesus , and see (5719 ) him that was possessed with the devil (5740 ), and had (5761 ) the legion , sitting (5740 ), and clothed (5772 ), and in his right mind (5723 ): and they were afraid (5675 ). * And they that saw (5631 ) it told (5662 ) them how it befell (5633 ) to him that was possessed with the devil (5740 ), and also concerning the swine . * And they began (5662 ) to pray (5721 ) him to depart (5629 ) out of their coasts . * And when he was come (5631 ) into the ship , he that had been possessed with the devil (5679 ) prayed (5707 ) him that he might be (5753 ) with him . * Howbeit Jesus suffered (5656 ) him not , but saith (5719 ) unto him , Go (5720 ) home to thy friends , and tell (5657 ) them how great things the Lord hath done (5656 ) for thee , and hath had compassion (5656 ) on thee . * And he departed (5627 ), and began (5662 ) to publish (5721 ) in Decapolis how great things Jesus had done (5656 ) for him : and all men did marvel (5707 ). * And when Jesus was passed over (5660 ) again by ship unto the other side , much people gathered (5681 ) unto him : and he was (5713 ) nigh unto the sea . * And , behold (5628 ), there cometh (5736 ) one of the rulers of the synagogue , Jairus by name ; and when he saw (5631 ) him , he fell (5719 ) at his feet , * And besought (5707 ) him greatly , saying (5723 ), My little daughter lieth at the point of death (5719 ): I pray thee , come (5631 ) and lay (5632 ) thy hands on her , that she may be healed (5686 ); and she shall live (5695 ). * And Jesus went (5627 ) with him ; and much people followed (5707 ) him , and thronged (5707 ) him . * And a certain woman , which had an issue of blood (5752 ) twelve years , * And had suffered (5631 ) many things of many physicians , and had spent (5660 ) all that she had , and was nothing bettered (5685 ), but rather grew (5631 ) worse , * When she had heard (5660 ) of Jesus , came (5631 ) in the press behind , and touched (5662 ) his garment . * For she said (5707 ), If I may touch (5672 ) but his clothes , I shall be whole (5701 ). * And straightway the fountain of her blood was dried up (5681 ); and she felt (5627 ) in her body that she was healed (5769 ) of that plague . * And Jesus , immediately knowing (5631 ) in himself that virtue had gone (5631 ) out of him , turned him about (5651 ) in the press , and said (5707 ), Who touched (5662 ) my clothes ? * And his disciples said (5707 ) unto him , Thou seest (5719 ) the multitude thronging (5723 ) thee , and sayest thou (5719 ), Who touched (5662 ) me ? * And he looked round about (5710 ) to see (5629 ) her that had done (5660 ) this thing . * But the woman fearing (5679 ) and trembling (5723 ), knowing (5761 ) what was done (5754 ) in her , came (5627 ) and fell down before (5627 ) him , and told (5627 ) him all the truth . * And he said (5627 ) unto her , Daughter , thy faith hath made thee whole (5758 ); go (5720 ) in peace , and be (5749 ) whole of thy plague . * While he yet spake (5723 ), there came (5736 ) from the ruler of the synagogues house certain which said (5723 ), Thy daughter is dead (5627 ): why troublest thou (5719 ) the Master any further ? * As soon as Jesus heard (5660 ) the word that was spoken (5746 ), he saith (5719 ) unto the ruler of the synagogue , Be not afraid (5737 ), only believe (5720 ). * And he suffered (5656 ) no man to follow (5658 ) him , save Peter , and James , and John the brother of James . * And he cometh (5736 ) to the house of the ruler of the synagogue , and seeth (5719 ) the tumult , and them that wept (5723 ) and wailed (5723 ) greatly . * And when he was come in (5631 ), he saith (5719 ) unto them , Why make ye this ado (5743 ), and weep (5719 )? the damsel is not dead (5627 ), but sleepeth (5719 ). * And they laughed him to scorn (5707 ). But when he had put them all out (5631 ), he taketh (5719 ) the father and the mother of the damsel , and them that were with him , and entereth in (5736 ) where the damsel was (5713 ) lying (5740 ). * And he took (5660 ) the damsel by the hand , and said (5719 ) unto her , Talitha cumi ; which is (5748 ), being interpreted (5746 ), Damsel , I say (5719 ) unto thee , arise (5669 ). * And straightway the damsel arose (5627 ), and walked (5707 ); for she was (5713 ) of the age of twelve years . And they were astonished (5627 ) with a great astonishment . * And he charged (5668 ) them straitly that no man should know (5632 ) it ; and commanded (5627 ) that something should be given (5683 ) her to eat (5629 ).
