* Then certain of the scribes and of the Pharisees answered (5662 ), saying (5723 ), Master , we would (5719 ) see (5629 ) a sign from thee . * But he answered (5679 ) and said (5627 ) unto them , An evil and adulterous generation seeketh after (5719 ) a sign ; and there shall no sign be given (5701 ) to it , but the sign of the prophet Jonas : * For as Jonas was (5713 ) three days and three nights in the whales belly ; so shall the Son of man be (5704 ) three days and three nights in the heart of the earth .
