* And Jesus went forth (5631 ), and saw (5627 ) a great multitude , and was moved with compassion (5675 ) toward them , and he healed (5656 ) their sick . * And when it was (5637 ) evening , his disciples came (5656 ) to him , saying (5723 ), This is (5748 ) a desert place , and the time is now past (5627 ); send the multitude away (5657 ), that they may go (5631 ) into the villages , and buy (5661 ) themselves victuals . * But Jesus said (5627 ) unto them , They need not depart (5629 ) (5719 ); give (5628 ) ye them to eat (5629 ). * And they say (5719 ) unto him , We have (5719 ) here but five loaves , and two fishes . * He said (5627 ), Bring (5720 ) them hither to me . * And he commanded (5660 ) the multitude to sit down (5683 ) on the grass , and took (5631 ) the five loaves , and the two fishes , and looking up (5660 ) to heaven , he blessed (5656 ), and brake (5660 ), and gave (5656 ) the loaves to his disciples , and the disciples to the multitude . * And they did all eat (5627 ), and were filled (5681 ): and they took up (5656 ) of the fragments that remained (5723 ) twelve baskets full . * And they that had eaten (5723 ) were (5713 ) about five thousand men , beside women and children .
