* Now the birth of Jesus Christ was (5713 ) on this wise : When as his mother Mary was espoused (5685 ) to Joseph , before they came together (5629 ), she was found (5681 ) with child (5723 ) of the Holy Ghost . * Then Joseph her husband , being (5752 ) a just man , and not willing (5723 ) to make her a publick example (5658 ), was minded (5675 ) to put her away (5658 ) privily . * But while he thought on (5679 ) these things , behold (5628 ), the angel of the Lord appeared (5648 ) unto him in a dream , saying (5723 ), Joseph , thou son of David , fear (5680 ) not to take (5629 ) unto thee Mary thy wife : for that which is conceived (5685 ) in her is (5748 ) of the Holy Ghost .
